Project Description This application consists of the proposed construction of a new portion of Sonderen Road in O'Fallon, MO. The

limits of the project are from the intersection of Sonderen Road and Eggering Drive (where Sonderen currently

terminates) and the intersection of Main Street and Third Street. This new roadway will extend approximately 1900

feet north and west from the existing terminus.

A development for the existing property currently controlled by St. Mary's has been proposed to the City. In

conjunction with this development, an extension of the existing Sonderen Road has been proposed such that it would

make a direct connection between Main St. and Sonderen Road.

Sonderen would serve as a complimentary pathway through the area for motorists traveling through this portion of the

City. The proposed roadway is not considered part of, but will complement the proposed development. The proposed

improvements will provide for an efficient and alternate route for vehicles traveling along Main St. to access the I70

interstate system.

The scope of this project will include the following: (1) construct a new portion of Sonderen Road, beginning at

Eggering Drive and connection with Main St. and the Third Street signalized intersection; (2) construct new

pedestrian facilities, which will connect into existing facilities where possible, along the Sonderen Road extension for

the existing and proposed residential and commercial properties and provide a pedestrian connection along Main St to

a major City Park destination; (3) address drainage/stormwater concerns by replacing some existing infrastructure and

installing new infrastructure to alleviate those issues.
