EXT. DENSE FOREST. DAY

The sun is high in the sky as 5 friends trek through thetrees. The woodland is quite dense and the path is veryovergrown.

CARLYAre you sure you know where you'regoing?

MIKETrust me, we'll be there soon. Yousaid you wanted an adventure, youwon't get that if we don't go deepin.

MADDIEOuch! What was that? Ewwww, thisis horrible!

BRADMaddie, why did you come? You'vedone nothing but moan since we setoff. If you don't like nature, whycome camping?

CARLYI know why she came....

CARLY looks towards Mike knowingly and then back to MADDIE.

MADDIECarly! Shhhh!

CARLYHaha, come on

CARLY takes MADDIEs arm and leads her through theundergrowth after MIKE. BRAD and DYLAN follow on behind.MIKE turns to his friends.

MIKEWe're almost there now, come on,keep up.

MIKE strolls on ahead

MADDIEMy feet are hurting so much, Iwish we were there already.

CARLYWhy did you wear those shoes? Youknew we were coming to the forest,why didn't you wear trainers orsomething?

MADDIE looks down at her feet. She's wearing open toedsandals with kitten heels, totally inappropiate for trekkingthrough a forest.

MADDIEThese shoes are nice. Mike likesthem. He told me so when I gotthem

CARLYMike likes them? You're trekkingthrough the forest in heels!That's hardly gonna impress him is

it?

MADDIE shrugs and they both keep walking. Further back downthe path DYLAN is muttering away to himself.

DYLANI don't know why we always have todo what Mike says. Go down here.Let's go in further. I want to gohere. Why we just couldn't go to anormal campsite like everyone elseI'll never know.

BRADWhat you muttering on about Dylan?

DYLANNothing

BRAD shakes his head

BRADWait up guys!

CARLY

What's up Brad? You getting to oldto keep up with us? Haha!

BRAD and DYLAN pick up the pace to catch the others up. MIKEcontinues to lead them through the forest smiling to himselfas he hears the sound of MADDIE complaining behind him. Ashe comes through the clump of branches there's a clearing.It's only small and is surrounded by trees. MIKE stops andsmiles.

MIKEPerfect, just perfect.

EXT. CLEARING. DAY

CARLY comes through the trees into the clearing

CARLYOh wow! This is great Mike!

She slips her rucksack off and lets it fall to the ground,BRAD and DYLAN comes to join them.

BRADCool. This place is great. Whatd'you say Dylan?

DYLAN looks at the ground and kicks some stones about.

DYLANAlright, I s'pose. Bit stoneythough

CARLY looks round the clearing

CARLYWhere's Maddie?

MIKEWhat? She was with you, wasn'tshe?

CARLYShe was just behind me, I was sickto death of her moaning so I wenton without her.

CARLY looks towards BRAD and DYLAN

CARLYDid you guys not see her?

BRADShe was sat on a log whinging to

herself when we passed. She'sprobably still there.

MIKEDon't worry, I'll go and find her.

CARLYShe'll like that. Haha!

MIKE walks back into the trees.

EXT. DENSE FOREST. DAY

MIKEMaddie? Where are you? You ok?

He backtracks down the overgrown path and sees something

just ahead of him.

MIKEMaddie? Is that you?

MADDIE is sitting on a fallen log crying. She wipes away thetears as MIKE approaches.

MIKEAre you ok? What's the matter?

MADDIEYes, fine.....Everyone left me, I

didn't know where you were.

MIKE sits down beside MADDIE and puts his arm round her.

MIKECome on, we've found the perfectspot. It's just through themtrees.

MIKE gets up and holds his hand out to MADDIE. She gives alittle sigh, smiles and takes it. MIKE leads MADDIE throughthe trees and back to the clearing he found. As they'rewalking MIKE comments on MADDIEs shoes.

MIKEWhat's with the shoes?

MADDIE looks down and turns her foot slightly to show offher shoes.

MADDIEAren't they nice?

MIKEErrr....yeah.....but they're not

very practical are they?

MADDIEThey're ok.

EXT. CLEARING. DAY

MIKE and MADDIE come through the trees to join the others.

DYLANWhat's up Maddie? Did you break a

nail?

DYLAN sniggers and MADDIE looks daggers at him. She muttersunder her breath.

MADDIEYou jerk.

CARLY looks up from rummaging in her bag.

CARLYLeave her alone Dylan

MIKE grabs his tent from the ground and starts to unpack it

MIKERight, let's get these tents upthen we can go and explore, andget some fire wood.

Between them they have 3 tents. DYLAN has his own as herefuses to share with anyone else. MIKE and BRAD are sharingone, and MADDIE and CARLY are sharing the other. As CARLYunpacks the tent, MADDIE sits down and slips one of hershoes off. She starts to rub her foot.

MADDIEMy feet are killing me, I don'tthink I can stand any longer.

CARLY looks across at her.

CARLYIs that your way of saying 'Carlyyou'll have to do the tent byyourself'?

MADDIE

Oh, that's nice of you to offer,thanks.

CARLY sighs and turns back to the tent. She doesn't lookhappy at all, but she knows that she's going to have toshare a tent with MADDIE and really doesn't want her moodythe whole time, so she doesn't say anything.

The guys seem to be doing well with their tents. DYLAN hasfinished his and is pacing around kicking stones about. MIKEis just securing the last of the guy ropes on theirs. BRADcomes over to the girls.

BRADYou girls ok?

MADDIEYes, we're fine Brad.

BRAD looks at MADDIE just sitting there while CARLY's doingall the work

BRADCarly? Need any help?

CARLY looks over her shoulder to BRAD

CARLYYeah sure, some help would begreat thanks.

CARLY lets BRAD take over and the tent is up in no time.

MIKE comes over to them.

MIKERight, now they're all sorted,let's go and explore.

He rubs his hands together and looks over to DYLAN.

MIKEDylan, you coming?

DYLANWell, I'm not about to stay hereby myself. I hope little princessMaddie there doesn't moan thewhole time though.

MADDIE turns to look at DYLAN

MADDIEShut up, Dylan! I don't moan! Andanyway, you'd moan if your feethurt as much as mine do.

DYLAN laughs in disbelief

DYLANYour feet hurt?! I wonder why thatcould be? You don't think it couldhave something to do with thosestupid shoes that are on yourfeet, do you?

MADDIEWhat is the problem with myshoes?!

MIKEThey are a little inappropiate,

don't ya think?

CARLYYeah Maddie, why don't you changethem? You don't want to ruin them,do you?

MADDIE gives a big sigh, then she gets up and goes to herrucksack. She starts rummaging through it and brings outsome flip flops, followed by some stillettos

BRADMy god Maddie! You're in the

woods, not going to the prom!

CARLYDon't you have anything a littlemore.....erm......practical?

MADDIE holds up the flip flops

MADDIEThese are flat...

DYLAN starts laughing, he can't believe how stupid MADDIEis, MADDIE looks at him crossly

CARLYTell you what, why don't youborrow my spare trainers?

MIKEThat's a good idea

MADDIE looks horrified at the thought of wearing CARLY'sscruffy trainers, but she reluctantly agrees.

MADDIE

I suppose I could.

MADDIE points to DYLAN accusingly

MADDIEAt least it'd shut him up!

DYLAN just laughs and shakes his head

BRADWill you two just stop windingeach other up for 5 minutes.

MADDIE puts CARLY's trainers on, all with a disgusted lookon her face, then they all pack their bags into their tents

and head off into the woods.

EXT. CAMP. LATER IN DAY

The clearing is quiet, the only sounds are of animals in thewoods round and about. Suddenly, the peaceful quiet isshattered by arguing and shouting. At first the sounds arein the distance, but they are being made by people comingtowards the camp.

DYLAN(O.S)

You guys bring me here, into the

middle of nowhere, and then havethe cheek to have a go at me! It'sbloody ridiculous!

MIKE(O.S)

No one was having, we just askedyou to help carry some wood forthe fire, that's all.

DYLAN storms through the trees into the clearing. He's veryangry. He stops and turns towards the others.

DYLANYeah, it's funny how little missprincess there isn't expected tocarry anything. Oh, sorry, Iforgot, we can't have her breakinga nail!

MADDIEWhat? I'm carrying some. What'syour problem?

DYLAN

Maddie, you're carrying a twig!

Sure enough MADDIE has a small twig in her hand. As theothers come into view they're all carrying handfuls of woodto make a fire. MIKE walks to the area in front of theirtents and puts the wood down. The others follow and puttheir wood down as well. MADDIE brings her twig anddelicately puts it on top of the pile. MIKE gives a littlelaugh.

BRADLet's crack open the beers, thatshould relax us all.

DYLANBeer? I'm getting my vodka out.

MIKE makes up the fire and gets it going. BRAD disappearsinto the tent to find the beers. CARLY brings some hot dogsand beans over to MIKE at the fire to be cooked. MADDIE sitsdown and changes back to her own shoes.

MIKE and CARLY finish the cooking and serve it out toeveryone. CARLY passes a plate of food over to DYLAN who issupping vodka from the bottle. He's already finished halfthe bottle. No one really says much while they eat, they'reall enjoying the quiet as they watch the sun go down.Everyone seems relaxed until DYLAN lets out a loud belch.

MADDIEYou are so disgusting! Did youreally have to do that?

DYLAN gets up with the vodka bottle in one hand and staggersover to MADDIE, he's obviously drunk. He bends down and putshis face close to MADDIEs as though he's going to whispersomething to her, then he lets out another belch right inher face. MADDIE pushes DYLAN away roughly. He staggers backand falls into CARLY's lap.

DYLANOoops!

He turns to CARLY.

DYLANHello babe, how you doing?

CARLYGet off me Dylan.

She pushes him away

DYLAN

What is it with you guys? You'reall so moody and boring. I'm offto find someone fun.

DYLAN walks off into the trees

CARLYShouldn't one of us go after him?

MADDIEI say leave him, he's nothing buttrouble

MIKE sits and stares in the direction that DYLAN left in.

MIKEMaybe I should go after him, bringhim back

BRADI wouldn't bother, you know whathe's like, and he's so dunk Ican't see him getting very far.He'll walk a few yards then turnaround and come back.

EXT. DENSE FOREST. LATE EVENING

Deep in the trees, DYLAN is swearing and cursing at thebranches that are getting in his way. He's drinking thevodka as he goes. He's been walking a while when he comesacross another clearing.

EXT. 2ND CLEARING. NIGHT

DYLANWhere have they gone? Who's stolenmy tent? This is just bloody greatthis is, they've all buggered offand left me.

DYLAN flops down onto the ground and drinks the last coupleof mouthfuls of the vodka. He lies back and looks up at themoon. He's convinced that all his friends have left him, hedoesn't realise that he's actually in a different clearing.The empty vodka bottle drops from his hand as he closes hiseyes and falls asleep.

EXT. CLEARING. NIGHT

Back at the camp everyone is getting worried about DYLAN

CARLY

He's not back yet and it's dark,maybe we should go and look forhim?

MIKEI reckon he's sleeping it offsomewhere. It's too dangerous togo wandering into the forest now,and it's so dark there's no chancewe'd find him. We'll have to hopehe's ok and go and look for him inthe morning if he hasn't returned.

BRADWhat's the betting he comesstumbling into camp when we're allsleeping and wakes us all up?

CARLY

Hmmm, maybe

The friends sit drinking and having a laugh before crawlinginto their tents for the night. They all shout goodnight toeach other.

EXT. 2ND CLEARING. NIGHT

DYLAN is laid fast asleep, he's snoring loudly. The emptyvodka bottle is laid at his side.

The sound of footsteps are heard approaching the camp. Abranch breaks loudly.

DYLAN awakens from his drunken slumber. He sits up suddenly.

DYLANWhere am I? Where is everyone?

He hears the sound of something approaching the clearing

DYLANMike? Is that you? Brad?

The footsteps seem to be circling the clearing.

DYLANCome on guys, stop messing around,you've had your fun now.

Silence

DYLAN strains his eyes to try and see what's lurking in thetrees ahead of him. It's too dark though and he can't seeanything.

DYLANHello? Is there anyone there?

He jumps suddenly as he sees a dark shape move behind atree. DYLAN quickly gets to his feet. He's not sure whathe's just seen but it certainly didn't look like one of hisfriends. He takes a step forward to try and make out whatthe shape is.

Suddenly he screams as he sees a hairy hand on the tree infront of him. He's not going to wait around to see what thehand belongs to, and turns and runs the opposite way intothe trees

DYLAN is really panicking as he desperately tries to findhis way back to the camp and his friends. As he runs throughthe trees he keeps turning round to check behind him, he'ssure he can hear something following him. As he runs blindlythrough the forest, he doesn't notice the steep drop infront of him until it's too late. His foot slips and he

starts sliding down the steep drop. He tries to grab atanything he can to stop himself falling but to no avail. Heslides down the steep embankment and hits the bottom hard.He's stunned for a few seconds. He tries to get up but hisfoot hurts too much to take his weight. DYLAN looks aroundand listens intently for any sound that may indicate thatwhatever he saw is still following. He's no idea where he isand is to afraid to call for help in case he alerts thecreature to where he is. He looks at his watch - 4am - hedecides to stay quiet and wait where he is, he knows thatthe sun will be rising soon and then he can try and work outwhere he is and get back to the camp.

EXT. CAMP. EARLY MORNING

The camp begins to stir. The zip slowly opens on the boystent and MADDIE sneaks out. She looks around to check thatno one is about, then she slips on her heels and makes herway back to her tent. She opens the zip and slips inside.

INT. GIRLS TENT. EARLY MORNING

CARLY begins to stir

CARLYWh-what time is it?

MADDIE looks at her watch

MADDIEIt's a little after 6. It's stillreally early, you should go backto sleep.

CARLYWhat are you doing up so early?Who's shirt is that?

MADDIE looks down at the shirt she's wearing, and then looksback to CARLY a glint in her eye. CARLY looks suprised.

CARLYNoooo.....Is that Mikes?

MADDIE nods her head with a mischievous smile on her face

CARLYSo....you and Mike? Didyou.....you know?

MADDIE nods her head.

MADDIEBut you must keep it quiet, wedon't want everyone finding out.

CARLYWhat about Brad?

MADDIEWhat about Brad? He doesn't needto know anything.

CARLYBut wasn't he in the tent? Surely

he already knows.

MADDIEBrad knows nothing, he was fastasleep the whole time, and we, youknow, kept it quiet.

MADDIE giggles while CARLY sits and looks at her with hermouth open.

MADDIELet's try and get another hour or2 sleep, I'm pooped.

MADDIE slips her shoes off and climbs into her sleeping bagstill wearing MIKE's shirt. CARLY is shocked and slightlyjealous to think that MIKE and MADDIE spent the nighttogether. She lies there staring at MADDIE for a bit, thenshe lets out a big sigh, turns onto her back and stares atthe roof of the tent.

INT. GIRLS TENT. LATER IN MORNING

CARLY awakens with a start, she opens her eyes and suddenlysits up in bed.

MIKE(O.S.)

Come on girls, time to rise andshine.

CARLY rubs her eyes and looks for her phone to check whattime it is - 9.30am. She looks to the side of her to seeMADDIE sleeping soundly.

CARLY(quietly toherself)

Must've been a bad dream

MADDIE turns over and CARLY sees that she's wearing MIKE's

shirt. A look of horror comes across CARLY's face as sherealises that it wasn't a dream, MADDIE has in fact sleptwith MIKE.

EXT. CAMP. SAME TIME

Outside the tent BRAD is peering into DYLAN's tent.

BRADDylan? You there mate?

Silence

BRAD unzips the tent properly and looks inside

INT. DYLANS TENT. SAME TIME

DYLAN's sleeping bag is empty

EXT. CAMP. SAME TIME

BRAD backs out of the tent and then turns to MIKE, who'sstanding outside the girls tent.

BRADThere's no sign of Dylan in there.It looks like her didn't make itback last night.

MIKE looks a little concerned.

MIKEWe'll have to go and look for him,I hope he's ok.

MIKE turns back to the tent where the girls are.

MIKE

Come on you two, we need to gofind Dylan.

CARLY's voice comes from inside the tent.

CARLY(O.S.)

What you mean he didn't come backlast night?

MIKEHis tent is empty

CARLY's head peers through the slightly open zip. She looksup at MIKE.

CARLYHe'll be ok, won't he?

MIKEHope so, we'd best go look for himthough

CARLYOk, I'll wake Maddie up, then wecan go.

CARLY disappears back inside the tent as MIKE walks over towhere BRAD is sitting on a log.

EXT. BOTTOM OF RAVINE. MORNING

DYLAN once again tries to stand. His foot feels a littlebetter but is still really sore. He looks around and triesto work out where he is.

DYLANBrad? Mike? Anyone?

Silence

DYLAN(under hisbreath)

I hope that 'thing' has gone

Using trees to help him DYLAN limps along looking for thecamp.

EXT. CAMP. MORNING

The friends are getting ready to set off and look for DYLAN.

MADDIE

Have you tried phoning him? If wephone him, we won't have to spendall day looking for him.

BRADI looked at my phone before, I'vegot no signal round here.

CARLYMe neither.

MIKEYeah, I've been here before, noone can ever get a signal. That'swhy it's so nice, no one from theoutside world can spoil it.

MIKE looks round at his friends.

MIKERight, how do you think we shoulddo this? Should we all go togetheror are you guys happy to split upso we can cover more groundquicker.

BRAD and CARLY nod, MADDIE quickly goes to MIKE and grabshis arm. She gazes up at him.

MADDIE

I'll go with Mike

BRAD and CARLY look at each other

CARLYLooks like it's me and you thenBrad

BRADThat's ok, I don't mind.

He smiles at her.

MIKERight, that's sorted then. If youguys go that way...

MIKE points to one side of the camp.

MIKE...and we'll go this way.

MIKE looks at his watch.

MIKE

It's 10.30 now, we'll meet backhere at 1 whether we've found himor not.

CARLYOk, hopefully we'll have foundhim. I mean, he can't be that faraway, surely.

They set off in opposite directions with MIKE and MADDIEgoing one way, and BRAD and CARLY going the other.

EXT. FOREST. LATER IN MORNING

DYLAN is staggering through the forest. He keeps lookingbehind him, he's convinced that something is following him.He tries to move faster, but his injured foot won't allowhim to. DYLAN is panicking more and more at every sound he

hears around him.

EXT. FOREST. SAME TIME

In a different part of the forest, MIKE and MADDIE arelooking for DYLAN.

MIKEDylan! Can you hear me?! Where areyou?!

MADDIEMike, shall we stop for a bit?

MIKEWhat? Why? We need to find Dylan,we can't do that if we stop.

MADDIEBut Mike, it's nice and quiethere. Just think.....here in theopen air....wouldn't it be fun.

MADDIE runs her hands over MIKE's chest, and then over hisshoulders and round his neck. She leans forwards to kisshim. MIKE pushes her away.

MIKEMaddie? What you doing?

MADDIE looks annoyed and disappointed.

MADDIEBut, I just thought, you know,while we were alone....

MIKE steps away from her.

MIKEWe have to find Dylan, or have youforgotten about him?

MADDIEOf course I haven't forgot abouthim! Come on Mike, an extra halfhour isn't gonna make muchdifference.

MIKEYou are unbelievable! For all weknow Dylan might be lying injuredsomewhere. He was right, you know,princess Maddie who only caresabout herself.

MADDIEWhat are you talking about? That'snot true.

MIKEOh, forget it, we're meant to belooking for Dylan, the quicker wefind him the quicker we can getback to camp.

MIKE walks off

MADDIEWait!....I can't go that fast.

MIKE looks round at MADDIE trying to make her way throughthe undergrowth

MIKEOh my god, I forgot about theshoes.

Once again we see that MADDIE is wearing her heels.

Something is in the forest watching everything thattranspires between MADDIE and MIKE. It peers round the treeslooking at everything intently. We can hear heavy breathing.As MIKE and MADDIE move on the creature follows themquietly.

EXT. FOREST. SAME TIME

In another part of the forest, CARLY and BRAD seem to belost.

CARLYBrad, do you actually know where

we are, or where we're going?

BRADHaven't a clue. Do you?

CARLYErm...no, that's why I was askingyou.

They both turn to look at each other.

BRADCome on, let's try this way.

BRAD leads the way through the trees. Suddenly they hearsomething coming crashing through the trees in front ofthem. CARLY grabs BRAD's arm.

CARLYWhat's that?

BRADShhhh....

All of a sudden DYLAN crashes through the trees, he'slooking behind him and doesn't see CARLY and BRAD until it'stoo late. He half staggers, half runs straight into CARLY.They both let out a scream.

BRAD

What...the...

BRAD suddenly realises that it's DYLAN

BRADDylan? What's wrong?

DYLAN is wide eyed and looks very scared.

DYLANBrad? Oh thank goodness it's you.Quick. We've gotta get outta here.

BRADWhat d'you mean? What's wrong?

DYLAN keeps looking over his shoulder, his eyes are scanningthe trees all around them.

DYLANSomething's in the forest.Something's been following me. Itchased me.

CARLY

I can't see anything. Are yousure?

DYLANOf course I'm sure!

BRADOk, ok. Well let's get back tocamp then we can all talk about itand try and work out what's goingon.

DYLANYeah, fine. Let's just get outtahere.

DYLAN pushes past CARLY and BRAD and limps on. He looksround him unsure where to go.

DYLANWhich way is it? Where's the camp?

CARLYDylan, you're hurt, let's get youchecked out first.

DYLANI'm fine. We just need to getoutta here. Now which way is it?

BRAD

Well, we are a little lost

DYLANWhat?!

BRADBut I think it's this way.

BRAD points in the direction they've come from. DYLAN startsto limp that way as fast as he can. BRAD and CARLY look ateach other. Both look concerned about DYLAN but they don'tsay anything. They go and catch him up and they all headback to camp.

EXT. CAMP. MIDDAY/EARLY AFTERNOON

MIKE and MADDIE come through the trees to the camp. They areboth silent and they both look annoyed.

MADDIEWhere's the water?

MIKEIn the stream, where do you think?

MADDIE glares at MIKE and gives a big sigh. She goes over tothe water bottle that's in front of MIKE's tent. Before shegets there MIKE grabs the bottle and quickly drinks thewater.

MADDIEMike!!

MIKE looks at MADDIE slyly

MIKEI told you, the water's in thestream.

MADDIE snatches the water bottle off MIKE and walks off inthe direction of the stream.

A few minutes later BRAD, CARLY and DYLAN come into camp.DYLAN still looks very frightened and is constantly lookingover his shoulder. MIKE looks up as he hears them approach.

MIKEDylan, where you been?

DYLAN just pushes past MIKE and goes towards his tent.

MIKEWhat's up mate?

Silence from DYLAN. MIKE turns to CARLY and BRAD.

MIKEWhat's going on? Is he ok?

BRAD shrugs his shoulders.

BRADI dunno, he's been talking likehe's crazy or something, he's justnot making any sense.

CARLY makes her way over to DYLAN who's walking round histent whilst rubbing his hands together nervously. His eyesare still wide with fear. CARLY gently puts her hand onDYLAN's arm, he jumps and spins around to face her.

DYLANOh, it's you. Are you crazy?! Whydid you creep up on me like that?!I thought you were....that THING!

CARLYDylan, calm down, I didn't creepup on you. There's nothing out

there.

DYLANOh there is, and it's watching us,you mark my words, we have to getoutta here.

CARLYIt's just your imagination. Let mehave a look at your foot, it'sobviously hurt.

DYLAN

Sod my foot! That's the least ofour worries! That THING is outthere!

CARLY looks round at BRAD and MIKE with a look of despair onher face.

MIKETell you what, Dylan, you come sitdown here, let Carly look at yourfoot, and you can tell us allabout whatever it is you thinkyou've seen.

DYLANI don't think! I know! It's outthere, and it's watching us.

MIKEWell come and tell us what it is.

DYLAN and MIKE stand in silence for a moment while holdingeye contact with each other. DYLAN starts to limp over tothe log and the remnants of the camp fire.

DYLANOk, but then we all have to getoutta here.

MIKEJust tell us, ok?

DYLAN flops down in the log and lets out a sigh. The othercome to join him as he starts to relay the details of whathe saw the night before.

EXT. STREAM. AFTERNOON

MADDIE is at the stream. She's still really cross at MIKE'sbehaviour and is muttering away to herself. She starts tofill up the water bottle. She hears the sound of footstepsapproaching behind her.

MADDIEI'm waiting.

Sound of heavy breathing.

MADDIE

What? Now you're interested?

MADDIE goes to turn around as something grabs her. Sheattempts to scream but can't get any air as there's a clawlike hand around her throat. The creature starts to dragMADDIE backwards towards the trees as she drifts intounconsciousness. MADDIE's legs are seen disappearing intothe undergrowth.

EXT. CAMP. AFTERNOON

Back at the camp, DYLAN is finishing off telling his friendseverything.

DYLANIt's still out there.

MIKEHow much had you drunk before allthis by the way?

DYLAN looks annoyed.

DYLANAre you trying to say I wasdrunk?!

BRADWell, it does seem a little farfetched.

CARLYWhat do you think it was?

MIKECarly, are you serious? You don'tbelieve him, surely?

DYLAN throws his hands in the air in exasperation.

DYLANIt was real!

BRAD looks around.

BRADWhere's Maddie?

CARLYThat's a point, I've not seen hersince we got back.

MIKEAh, she's fine, she dragged her

moody ass down to the stream forwater.

BRADShe moaning again?

MIKEOf course.

CARLYBut, the streams only about 5minutes away, when did she leave?

MIKEOh, a couple of minutes before yougot back.

CARLY looks at her watch.

CARLYWe've been back ages, do you thinkshe's ok?

DYLANIt's that THING! It's got Maddienow! I told you we have to getoutta here, before it's too late!

At that moment MADDIE walks into camp.

CARLYMaddie!

CARLY runs over to her and puts her arms around her. MADDIEjust stands there with no emotion at all.

CARLYWe were worried about you.

MADDIE just shrugs and walks away from her.

MIKESomeone's quiet.

MADDIE just looks at him and smiles seductively.

MADDIE turns towards DYLAN, she's unusually calm andcollected.

MADDIEBut why? This place is lovely, whywould we want to leave?

CARLYMaddie? You ok?

MADDIEYes, I'm good.

CARLY looks concerned and confused. She turns to MIKE.

DYLANGuys! We have to get outta here!Have you forgot about that THINGout there!

CARLYYeah, Dylan thinks he sawsomething last night.

It'll be dark soon.

MIKE looks around.

MIKEShe's right, we should stay tilmorning.

DYLAN looks extremely worried.

DYLANWhat?! No! We can't stay, it's notsafe!

BRADEven if there is something outthere, there's 5 of us and only 1of....IT.

MIKEWell, there we are then.

CARLYMaybe we should all stay togethertonight just in case, you know, in

one tent.

MIKECarly, there's nothing out there.You know that don't you?

MIKE looks at CARLY, she looks a little worried.

MIKE

Well, it wouldn't hurt I s'pose.

MADDIE, who is stood slightly away from everyone else,glares at CARLY. It's obvious she's not happy with that ideaat all.

DYLANYou guys are all crazy! If youthink I'm staying here anothernight you can think again, I'moutta here!

DYLAN gets up and limps over to his tent and starts to

quickly pack his stuff away. MIKE walks over to him.

MIKELook, if there is something outthere, don't you think it would besafer for us all to stay together.

DYLANYeah, I agree, but we need to staytogether and get outta here.

MIKEWe won't get back before it goesdark, it's just not a good idea tobe wandering round any forest inthe dark.

DYLAN grabs his bag.

DYLANDo what you want, but I'm off. I'drather take my chances and try toget outta here, than sit aroundwaiting for it to get me.

BRADDon't be going off on your ownagain, we wasted the whole daytoday cos of having to look foryou.

MADDIE just shrugs like she can't be bothered and then looksaway.

MADDIEYou're imagining things.

DYLANWell good luck guys. I wish you'dcome with me.

BRADCome on mate, don't go.

DYLAN looks round at everyone.

He walks off into the dense forest.

CARLYDo you think he'll be ok?

MIKEI hope so.

MADDIEOh, he'll be fine.

MADDIECos we all know there's nothingout there, he was drunk, that'sall.

EXT. FOREST. NIGHT

As darkness engulfs the forest, DYLAN is still trying tofind his way out of the forest. He hears the sound of abranch snapping behind him.

DYLANOh not again

(much louder)Who's there?

Silence

DYLAN looks around, he's not sure where to go, everythinglooks the same. He hears another noise behind him. Hepanicks and breaks into a run, but his foot is still soreand it prevents him from going very fast. He trips over somefallen branches and falls to the floor. He can hear thesound of heavy breathing now. He quickly tries to scramble

to his feet. A bit further on he falls again. He's sat onthe ground trying to work out which direction the sounds arecoming from. Suddenly a hairy claw grabs his foot. DYLANscreams and franctically tries to pull his leg away. Hecan't get free of the creatures grip as it starts to draghim deeper into the trees. DYLAN tries to grab hold ofanything he can, but the creature is just too strong.

After it's dragged DYLAN a few feet it lets go of him. DYLANsits up and tries to see in the darkness. As he turns to getto his feet he comes face to face with the werewolf. DYLANlets out a blood curdling scream.

EXT. CAMP. NIGHT

Back at the camp it's now dark and the others are decidingwhere they're all going to sleep.

MADDIEMike and I can share one tent, andyou and Brad the other.

CARLYI don't know, I think it'd bebetter if we all stayed together.

MADDIEOh don't be soft, you'll have Bradto look after you.

MIKEYou know, I agree with Carly.

MADDIE glares at MIKE, her eyes look quite evil.

MIKEWe'll be safer if we're alltogether.

CARLYDo you think Dylan got home ok?

BRADI hope so.

MIKEWe'll find out tomorrow, rememberit was his choice to go off on hisown, we told him to stay.

MADDIEOh he'll be fine

MIKE and BRAD go into the tent to start to make room for the

girls. MADDIE turns to CARLY and speaks to her in hushedtones so that the boys can't hear.

MADDIEHe's not interested in you.

CARLYWho isn't? What you on about?

MADDIEMike. As if I have to tell you.You're not having him.

CARLYMaddie, what is your problem, youbeen acting strange all day?

MADDIEOh, I'm good. In fact, I've neverbeen better.

CARLYWell, I know about what happenedbefore. I know he blew you off.He's fair game as far as I'm

concerned.

CARLY goes to walk away, MADDIE grabs her arm to stop her.

CARLYOww! Maddie!`

MADDIE's grips tightens on CARLY's arm. CARLY's frightened,she's never seen MADDIE behave like this before, she neverrealised she was so strong.

MADDIE stares at CARLY.

CARLY

Maddie you're hurting me.

MADDIE tightens her grips some more.

MADDIEHe's mine.

CARLY(squealingslightly fromthe pain)

MADDIE releases her grips on CARLY's arm. CARLY rubs itwhile watching MADDIE. MIKE pokes his head out of the tent.

MIKECome on girls, let's get cosy,haha.

MADDIEComing Mike.

MADDIE turns to CARLY as they go into the tent.

MADDIEMine!

INT. TENT. NIGHT

Later on that night all is quiet in the camp and in thetent. MIKE wakes up, he looks around and sees CARLY asleepnext to him. He looks to the other side and expects to seeMADDIE, but she's not there. MIKE shakes his head and sitsup. CARLY stirs next to him.

MIKEShhh, go back to sleep.

CARLYWha....

MIKEIt's ok, I'll be back in a minute.

CARLY turns over and drifts back to sleep as MIKE leaves thetent.

EXT. CAMP. NIGHT

MIKE looks round the campsite.

MIKEMaddie?

No answer. MIKE heads off into the trees to find her.

INT. TENT. NIGHT

CARLY wakens with a start. She shakes BRAD who's next toher.

CARLY(whispers)

Brad.

BRAD moans.

There's a noise outside the tent and CARLY sees a shadowpass by. She shakes BRAD's shoulder again.

CARLYBrad.

BRAD opens his eyes.

BRADWhat? I'm trying to sleep.

CARLYThere's something out there.

CARLY sees the shadow pass by again.

BRADGo back to sleep.

CARLYMike and Maddie are gone.

BRADThen it's probably them you've

heard, go back to sleep.

BRAD turns over and closes his eyes again. CARLY lies in hersleeping bag cowering. She sees a hand slap down onto thetent. CARLY screams.

CARLYBrad!

BRAD props himself up on his elbows.

BRADFor gods sake Carly....

His voice drifts off as he hears a noise outside.

BRAD

Is it an animal?

BRAD starts to crawl towards the tent opening. CARLY grabshis arm, he turns to her.

CARLYNo...I don't think...

BRADIt'll be ok, I'm just going tolook.

BRAD turns back to the tent opening, suddenly something

grabs him and pulls him outside. CARLY screams.

CARLYBrad!!!

CARLY quickly crawls to the tent door and looks outside.

EXT. CAMP. NIGHT

A werewolf has hold of BRAD by the throat. BRAD is terrifiedas the creatures hot breath is felt on his face.

CARLYNo....it can't be..

She can't quite believe what she's seeing and is frozen withfear.

The creature begins to tighten it's grips on BRAD's throatand he frantically struggles for air. The werewolf raisesit's other paw and slashes straight down BRAD's stomach.BRAD's body bucks wildly and CARLY sees all his intestinescome spilling out of him.

CARLY screams, and the werewolf turns to look at her. She

scrambles to her feet and bolts into the trees.

The werewolf releases BRAD's lifeless body and it falls tothe floor. The werewolf follows CARLY into the trees.

EXT. FOREST. NIGHT

CARLY's running blindly, twigs and branches are scratchingat her face as she tries to flee. Tears are streaming downher face. Something grabs her, she screams and tries tofight it off.

MIKEWoah, Carly, it's me.

CARLY still tries to fight him off frantically.

MIKECarly, it's me Mike. Calm down.What's happened?

CARLYMike?

She stops fighting him and collapses into his arms. She'scrying uncontrollably.

CARLYMike, oh Mike.

MIKE holds her and tries to comfort her.

MIKEWhat's wrong?

CARLY looks up at him.

CARLYIt's Brad, he's dead. It killedhim.

CARLY cries uncontrollably. MIKE has a look of disbelief, hecan't quite work out what's happening.

MIKEWhat's killed him? Was it a bearor something?

CARLY

No, it looked like...it lookedlike a werewolf!

MIKEOh come on. They're not real.

CARLYOh they're real ok. I watched asit killed Brad, it tore his bodyopen.

CARLY grabs MIKE's hand and pulls it.

CARLYWe have to get out of here. It'sstill out there.

MIKEWe can't go.

CARLY stops and looks at MIKE.

CARLYMaddie. Well, where is she?

A voice is heard in the distance, it's approaching them.

MADDIE(O.S)

Mike? Hello?

MIKEMaddie? We're here! Over here!!

CARLYShhh, you'll attract it.

MIKE looks at CARLY very confused.

MIKEWhat? It's Maddie....Maddie! We'rehere!

CARLY is huddled against MIKE's shoulder, she's clutchinghis arm.

CARLY

But, how do you know?

MIKEWhat?

CARLYHow do you know it's her?

near, MIKE turns to the girls.

MIKEYou two stay here, I'll go andcheck it's safe.

CARLYNo! You can't!

MIKEIt'll be fine. Stay here.

MIKE walks carefully into camp. CARLY stands and watches,she's clutching hold of a tree. MADDIE is behind her, shelooks very angry.

CARLYDo you think he'll....

MADDIE grabs CARLY by the hair and yanks it back. CARLYsqueals. MADDIE drags her through the trees by the hair.CARLY struggles.

CARLYWhat's going on? Maddie? You'recrazy!

MADDIE grins at CARLY. CARLY sees that she's different, herteeth look like that of an animal. MADDIE lets go of CARLY'shair, CARLY drops to the floor and MADDIE stands over her.CARLY tries to crawl backwards.

CARLYMaddie?

MADDIE lets out a howl. CARLY stares at her in horror. Shehears the sound of something coming through the trees. It'sthe werewolf. CARLY opens her mouth to scream but before anysound can come out MADDIE grabs her by the throat.

MADDIEI told you he was mine.

CARLY's eyes dart between MADDIE and the werewolf that's

approaching.

MADDIEYou just couldn't keep your handsoff him.

MADDIE tightens her grip on CARLY's throat and then pullsher hand back sharply ripping CARLY's throat out. CARLYclutches at her throat for a few seconds. Her body isquickly lifeless as the werewolves start to feast on her.

EXT. CAMP. NIGHT

MIKE comes out of the tent and shakes his head. He shineshis torch round the clearing, everything is eerily quiet.

MIKE

It's ok girls, there's nothinghere.

Silence

MIKEMaddie, Carly, the camps safe.

MIKE(under hisbreath)

Where have they got to now?

MIKE walks back to the tree where he left the girls waiting.They are nowhere to be seen.

MIKECarly!

MIKE looks around for signs of her.

MIKEMaddie!

MIKE notices some broken branches near where the girls hadbeen, he shines his torch on the ground and sees what looklike drag marks.

MIKEWhat's going on here?

MIKE hears a noise coming towards him through the trees.

MIKEWho's there?

MIKE's just about to run when MADDIE comes through thetrees.

MIKEMaddie? Where have you been?Where's Carly?

MADDIEI was just over there, Carly ranoff, she said she couldn't waitfor you any longer. I tried tostop her but she wouldn't listento me.

MIKEWhat?! She went off on her ownafter everything that's been goingon? She wouldn't do that, what didyou say to her?

Maddie puts her hand to MIKE's face and gently strokes it.

MADDIEOh, Mike, it's far better just the2 of us anyway.

MIKE pushes her hand away.

MIKENot this again! Maddie, it was aone off, ok. I'm not interested.You're way to selfish for me, I'msorry.

MADDIE glares at MIKE

MIKECome on, we need to find Carlybefore something happens to her.

MIKE starts to walk off, but MADDIE grabs his arm and grins.Her teeth are that of an animal.

MIKEMaddie?

MADDIEI didn't want it to be like this,but you've given me no choice.

MIKE tries to pull away from MADDIE's grips and in the

process trips and falls backwards into a tree.

MIKEWhat?

MADDIEA werewolf.

MIKEYou're crazy more like.

MADDIE grabs MIKE by the throat.

MIKE looks scared and confused, he's looking around trying

to find something to use a weapon against this creature.

MADDIEYou are going to be my mate. Youwill become like me. We will beimmortal together.

MADDIEHorton has been home to my colonyfor thousands of years, we willstay here, together.

MIKE

How many of you are there?

MADDIEEnough! It's time.

As MADDIE raises her head to the moon and lets out a howl,MIKE grabs a large stick and brings it crashing against theside of her head. MADDIE releases her grip on his throat asshe lets out a loud yelp. MIKE scrambles to his feet andruns, MADDIE tries to grab him and scrapes her claws downhis back. MIKE doesn't slow down though, or turn back, hejust runs.

As the sun rises in the sky, MIKE stumbles out into theroad. He's exhausted and collapses at the side of the road.He thinks he's safe.

Something moves in the bushes on the other side of the road,MIKE doesn't notice it.

The wolf watches MIKE intently.
