Why would you think Talon needs sustain? Pick Kha'zix if you know you will get heavy poke and can't adjust

your playstyle; he gets a heal with W. Zed will never run oom, so pick him if you can't handle going back to

base or getting a blue buff. If you want a longsword start with Talon, should you run back for an enchanted

flask early on you will really be set until lategame where mana isn't an issue.

If you are taking Talon top, slap some lifesteal runes on him and grab a Dorans blade or shield. Same as

Riven, if you are no good with that champ then you may have (deserve?) a bad laning due to ranged

    champs/poor sustain.

Also, as Talon. Just Q at lvl 18 does "106+200+230% bonus AD". Just using this to reset your AA, every

time you start attacking someone, in ~.6 seconds you have just done "2 AA+modifier damage" =

212+200+330% bonus AD. Stop right there for a second, ask yourself, "WTF? Why is this allowed!?"

because you hopefully realized something. What you should be realizing is that Talon brings more to the

table than just Zed's single target removal ult and shadow-jukes. As for Kha'zix....what recommends this guy

to you? His strong early, safe laning period, and good damage? Sure those are nice but he is just not as

useful as Talon and Zed. He has a single CC, for 20% slow, a high cooldown on his jump if he doesn't help

kill someone, and a higher cooldown on his ult than Talon, even though he gets only 1 sec invis+movespeed

at a time. Not impressed that his ult does the same damage he gets when he just touches a bush, either.

Just looking at his ratios says Talon outdamages him in a combo, unless the guy is missing so much hp that

it doesn't even matter (I have done the math before though).

If you want to be all about when you ult, go play Sona or Janna support. If you want to have an ult that

removes one person, go play Syndra, at least she brings a spammable aoe stun to your team along with her

    slow+nuke.

Zed lvl 18 without his ult: two shurikens does 353+150% bonus AD, E is 180+80% bonus AD and autoattackwill add an extra "110+100% bonus ad" to his burst damage in ~1.5s. Max cdr and Q every 3.6 seconds, E

every 2.4, but he loses his shadow after 4 right? Lets say Zed has 125% of Talon's 300 bonus AD, so375. Single combo damage on a target with Zed's same lvl 18 hp, 1885: 353+375(1.5) + 180+375(.8)+

110+375+189 = 2070 damage. Very good damage, and you "only" need to be attacking someone with 4445hp to deal the same damage in that combo as Talon can. Wait whoops nevermind you didnt bring themdown to half hp.

Talon lvl 18 no ult, I prefer this order for a combo in ~1s: E-W-AA-Q, see the ratios above the comments on

this page. Talon single combo damage on a target with any hp, ignoring his passive:

    1.15(212+200+300(3.3) + 260+300(1.2)) = 2325 damage, with enough mana+cdr you can do this every 6

seconds, but at the same time nuking the poor sap for 796 hp every 2.4s. Guess what? Assuming both

champs have equal lifesteal; Talon is getting a LOT more health back with his Q than Zed overall. Also,

consider the fact that Zed needs to get close to hit ppl with shadow, which makes it not work to use yourshadow to gapclose most of the time. Zed doesn't have a silence, so there's no way hes going to ultsomeone with Zhonyas in a teamfight. Assume your team's Kennen or something has been hurting theother team a lot. The people who can't buy Zhonyas can pick up a Mercurial Scimitar, and suddenly all yourult's amazing burst from the death mark is gone when they use that item.

You could argue that Talon has no escape if he uses his ult to deal as much damage as possible. This istrue. I would then say that Zed has no escape if he does the same thing. Why use two shadows when youcould use three, and burst that tank who you say Talon couldn't burst? Because you have no escape. Therefore Zed's escape is about as viable as Talon's, if not less so because of the amount you depend on itto deal damage. YES IT IS RELEVENT FOR AN ASSASSIN TO HAVE AOE DAMAGE. Apologies for yelling.

Anyhow, this is a team game, and the "ideal assassin" for a team game is one that, at the same time he is

annilating the Big Bad Bruiser or some other bundle of sticks, he obviously does a good amount of damage

to everyone, forcing them to play defensive or go back to base. Talon can often pull this off because he has

more damage that is in his aoe, and his is so wide he can often get the whole team with it. Whether or not

you wanted to address aoe damage in your comment is irrelevent; if you choose to ignore it when

comparing them then you are missing out in something considered by Riot for buffs and nerfs.

Tl;DR--Zed is a one trick pony with less viability than Talon, cannot do as much damage as Talon even with

his bonus ad if we compare them without ults. Kha'Zix doesn't do as much damage, especially with ults,

doesn't help his team with strong slows or a silence. Talon is a good balanced pick at the moment, with

much of his balance being in his difficult laning phase (which you can work around). Anyone in this list gives

up damage if they use an escape. Any buffs to Talon would be great, but they would need to be really easy

to counterplay for him to not become OP. Addressing something you said, Talon can escape with ulti more

than every minute. With full CDR he can do so every 33s; which should be more than enough. If you know

how to find it, look on lolking: aside from the free week, Talon consistently has a winrate above 50%,

especially in ranked, whereas Zed and Kha are both consistently the opposite, its hard to even find a day

where they are up to 50%.
