SOME- So Others Might Eat is a place for homeless people to eat, see doctors and get job trainings. The comfortable environment makes everyone feel like home. We were deeply moved by the passionate staffs there.

LISA• Washington Monument at night• Broken reflection parallels broken safety net for homeless in DC.• I witnessed the complex system of government aid, social services, and non-profits.

I saw her on the street corner one night.It was cold. It was raining. I watched.She was lying on the cement, at the mercy of the unforgiving weather.I watched some more.She was covered in blankets, hidden from the identity of her situation.I watched some more.Her hand reached out, a coin dropped in, her single hope for the strife of the bitter night.I crossed the street with a force stronger than will moving me closer to her. I watched.Her body moved, attempting to rid itself of its own disparity. Her movements familiar and almost a response to mine, she rose from the sidewalk. Standing in front of her and confirming my worst fear, I watched.The rain pouring down dissolved the dirt from her face, her identity revealed.
