Leading Coca-Cola bottler in the world, six times Mario Antonio Veronezi, Industrial and Logistic Director of one of the leading twenty Coca-Cola franchisees worldwide, gets straight to the point as he reveals the secret of his company’s success. "In fourteen years on the market, we have been ranked top Coca-Cola bottler for quality as many as six times. Why? Because Spaipa has quality products and services in its DNA.” His office in the Curitiba headquarters doesn’t look out onto the vast industrial district on the outskirts of the state capital of Paraná, as you might expect.

Moreover, it comes as no surprise that there is a significant “human value” built into a company long renowned for being a pioneer and innovator in the sector. “One year ago, when we opened the new extension at Marília, the Coca-Cola Company described our plant as being the most modern and advanced in all of Latin America,” recalls Mario Antonio Veronezi. "And this acknowledgement must naturally be passed on to the people who supplied the technology."

Two complete Sidel lines with latest-generation technologyOne Spaipa line from Sidel is designed to package cans (350 ml, 270 ml and 310 ml) at a rate of 60,000 cph. The second is not only for returnable glass bottles (290 ml and 1000 ml, with outputs of 40,000 bph and 28,000 bph, respectively), but also Ref-PET (1.5L format, output at 24,000 bph). The flexibility required for this double packaging system gives a measure of the advanced technology in the line. Spaipa and the Coca-Cola Company have both fully embraced the philosophy of sustainability by reviving the idea of returnable containers as a means of further respecting the environment.

Two companies; one shared, innovative, entrepreneurial visionArguably what has contributed most to the continually growing relationship between Spaipa and Sidel over the last five years is a shared innovative vision. Collaboration began when Spaipa bought a Eurotronica FM-C filler with an air rinser. Both were the first machines of their kind sold in Brazil. They were followed by a second Eurotronica FM-C filler, a Robo-Kombi palletiser and five SBO blowers. The success of these machines resulted in the order for the two lines for cans and glass/ Ref-PET bottles. The prospects for the partnership seem bright, especially bearing in mind that in the last two years there has been something of a soft drinks boom in the country. “The market continually throws up fresh challenges and that’s why we are always on the lookout for excellent new machines and maximum flexibility.
