Roadside SOS will be there when you are involved in a roadside emergency. By contacting us, you will have immediate access to a team of dedicated case managers who will expertly assist you. These services are covered nationally, including Lesotho and Swaziland, and are limited to (Rand value).

MINOR ROADSIDE REPAIRS

Should you need minor roadside repairs to your vehicle, help will be dispatched to assist on the spot. This service

extends to changing a flat tyre or restarting a vehicle in the case of a flat battery. Where keys have been locked in the vehicle, arrangements will be made for a locksmith to open the vehicle and retrieve the keys. (Please note that this service does not extend to loss, theft or damage to keys, locks or gear locks.) We’ll even deliver fuel to you if you’ve run out of fuel, although the cost of the fuel and the delivery will be for your own account.

MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL TOW-IN

Where the cause of the problem is a mechanical or electrical breakdown, arrangements will be made for your vehicle to be towed to the nearest approved dealer or competent repairer.

The cost of the first (number of kilometres) round trip is covered (starting from point of dispatch), thereafter a charge of R6.38 per km is applicable and will be for your own account.

ACCIDENT TOWING

If you are involved in an accident, we will, upon request, arrange the towing of your vehicle to the nearest preferred panel of repairers or safe yard.

The cost of the first (number of kilometres) round trip is covered (starting from point of dispatch), thereafter a charge of R6.38 per km is applicable and will be for your own account.

TRANSMISSION OF URGENT MESSAGES

In the event of an electrical or mechanical breakdown or accident, we will, upon request, relay any urgent messages to friends, colleagues, or family members to advise them of your circumstances.

your journey. This service will be paid for by the call centre, but is subject to availability.

The Car Hire service is limited to (Rand value) and it includes daily car rental rates, insurance fees, unlimited kilometre allowance and fees for the collection/delivery of the vehicle (up to 25km). You must hold both a valid credit card and a driver’s licence to utilise the service. Please note you will be responsible for all fuel costs.

1.2 Hotel Accommodation

In the event of an overnight delay, hotel accommodation will be arranged for the occupants of the vehicle, at a selected provider in the area.

The service is limited to (Rand value).

STORAGE

Should it be required, we will arrange for the safe storage of your vehicle overnight or for the weekend. On the next working day your vehicle will be relocated to the nearest approved dealer or repairer. The cost of a second tow will be for your own account.

* Toll fees are not inclusive within the benefit entitlement, and such costs will be for your account.

Overall limit of (Rand Value) per member per annum applies.

EXTENDED BENEFITS

Should you and your occupant find yourselves stranded 100km or more from home (your normal place of residence), preceding your vehicle being rendered immobile, arrangements will be made for car hire, hotel accommodation or storage of the vehicle.

1.1 Car Hire

You are entitled to group-B car hire, for a 24-hour period, so that you can continue on

Road Emergency will provide you with assistance 24/7, whether you have broken down or simply ran out of fuel.

Roadside assistance will be dispatched immediately and can facilitate mechanical assistance (flat batteries, tyre repairs,

overheating), vehicle towing, and arrange emergency car hire.

You have 24-hour telephonic access to log requests, which will ensure you get immediate assistance from a national network of service providers. You will have ongoing engagement throughout the emergency to ensure rapid resolution.

BREAKDOWN TOWING

STUCK IN THE MUD

In the event that the vehicle is stuck in the mud, arrangements will be made for dedicated incident management of recovery towing to the closet OEM dealer or MSTI assessment centre.

We will relay messages of delay or changed arrangements to a nominated family member or business colleague at the company’s request.

If you are involved in an accident or breakdown, we will dispatch your own personal guard to the roadside incident within 30 minutes to wait with you for the roadside services. The response vehicle will stay with you, to provide a safe surrounding, until the roadside

Vehicles are available from selected national car hire

branches. It is important to note that a valid credit card deposit will be payable and the benefits will only apply to the principle member.

If you don’t have a valid driver’s licence, you may nominate a driver. The first tank of petrol will be free and there is an unlimited kilometre allowance. Standard excesses will apply in the event of theft or an accident. These are vehicle and car hire partner specific and will be for your own account.

Bookings must be made and services must be arranged through the call centre only. The booking process will confirm what you are entitled to, your benefit limit and the availability of the vehicle (including duration).

No refund or reimbursement of vehicles booked directly from the selected car hire partner or any other rental agency will be provided.

Damages due to accidents or theft will be for your account. All costs to reach the branch will be for your account or free delivery within 25km from branch. No one-way drop-off fee is applicable.

The RAF (Road Accident Fund) is a public entity, which has been set up by the government of South Africa.

The RAF provides compulsory cover to all users of South African roads, resident or foreigner, against injuries sustained or death arising from accidents involving motor vehicles within the borders of South Africa.

This cover is in the form of indemnity insurance to persons who cause the accident, as well as personal injury and death insurance to victims of motor vehicle accidents and their families.

RoadShield will manage your claim with the RAF from start to finish and will ensure you receive full compensation should you be involved in a road accident. Should you be injured as a result of a negligent driver, or if you are a dependent or close relative

of a deceased member in respect of funeral expenses, you are entitled to claim. A parent or legal guardian must assist persons under the age of 18.

Whether you are claiming for past and future hospital and medical expenses, loss of income or earnings and loss of support for the dependent of a deceased or disabled victim, you will be compensated for general damages such as pain, suffering and disfigurement in the case of bodily injury as well as necessary funeral expenses.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Before contacting us, you must ensure that the vehicle’s damage falls within the service assessment cards’ specifications. Once you are sure that the application falls within the specification, you should take two or three photos of the damage to log the application. Then, contact us and provide us with the voucher number that is required to log or register the application (to validate the voucher).

Once you have logged a call, an SMS will be sent to your mobile phone containing the application reference number, a call centre cell number and an email address.

You can now SMS or email the photos of the damage to the contact details provided and use the application reference

number as the subject title. This is to ensure that the application can be assessed and processed efficiently.

Once the application has been assessed, a notification SMS will be sent to inform you whether the application was approved or declined. On approval of an application you will be contacted to set up an appointment for the vehicle to be repaired. You will also receive an SMS reminder 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment. In the event that you have to reschedule or cancel the appointment, please contact us well in advance.

The mobile units’ technician will also validate the application, and will only perform work according to the brochure and service assessment card.

and your car home safely. Home Drive provides you with two convenient ways of making a booking:

1. Pre-booking: Prior to the event, you can contact the call centre to make a booking. 2. In the Moment: Had a little too much to drink? Simply contact the call centre to make a booking.

Either way, a driving team will be there to get you home safely. The driving team consists of the lead driver, as well as a back-up driver and vehicle. The lead driver will drive you home in your own vehicle and a back-up driver will follow and collect the lead driver from your preferred drop-off destination.

CONVENIENT DRIVE SERVICE

If you require a driver’s assistance to get from point A to point B in one of Home Drive’s vehicles, a professional team of standby drivers will

be available. Whether you are running between meetings, need an airport transfer, your car has been booked in for a service and you need to be collected from the dealership, or if your child needs to be collected from school - Home Drive will assist. Pre-booking is highly preferred.

SAFE DRIVE SERVICE

In the event where you require assistance between destinations, due to no access to a vehicle of your own, a professional team of standby drivers will fulfil the request.

This can be pre-booked or used to make last-minute arrangements. Whether you are between meetings, need an airport transfer or to be picked up from a dealership, as your car has gone in for a service, a driver will be there to pick up you. Tc&Cs apply.

BENEFIT LIMITS

The benefit provides (Number of Elected Trips – Individual per programme) trips annually, which includes a 50km round-trip distance per incident (calculated from strategically placed depots, to your pick-up point and to the drop-off destination), and any additional kilometres travelled will be charged at R9.00 per km.

Should you require additional trips, the cost of the trips will be for your own account, but you will receive a discount on the full fare as follows:

1st trip = R140.00 per 30km (additional charge for extra kms still applies)

2nd trip and more = R240.00 per 30km (additional charge for extra kms still applies)

Additional fees will be charged to your credit card.

ADDITIONAL PASSENGERS/DROP-OFF

The service is limited to your specified vehicle only. Up to 3 additional passengers can be transported at no additional cost, provided that the entire trip is no longer than 50km, takes no longer than one hour and all passengers are transported to one address.

An additional cost of R50.00 will be charged per additional drop-off. This requirement needs to be arranged and authorised by the call centre to ensure efficient planning and upfront payment (avoiding potential threats to the drivers when carrying cash).

BOOKING TIMES

Pre-bookings are preferred and should be arranged prior to 20h00 each day. Ad hoc and last-minute requests

(day and night) can be accommodated on a best-efforts basis, however you should expect a potential time delay of a minimum of one hour. This is subject to the availability of standby team members at the time of the request. Please note that the cut-off time for new and last minute bookings is 02h00. On public holidays, pre-bookings need to be made before 17h00 on the day prior to the public holiday.

CANCELLATIONS

Cancellation fees (applicable in excess of your (amount) trips per annum):

• Cancelled two hours prior to booked collection time – no cost

• Cancelled one hour prior to booked collection time – R160.00

• Cancelled within the hour – R320.00

INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIPS

HomeSafe provides driving teams who are on standby at the venue, to drive guests home in their own vehicles if they have consumed alcohol. No early booking, no waiting time, and no risk of a drunk driving accident.

CORPORATE PACKAGES

Companies can make use of corporate packages, where they have senior staff that would entertain or be entertained by suppliers. Up to 15 staff members who qualify may use the service. Kilometres are “pooled” and staff that use the service will be taken home.

If there is a staff member who doesn’t qualify, they can

use the HomeSafe service at no extra charge, however the kilometres used will be deducted from the “pool”.

ADDITIONAL PASSENGERS/DROP-OFFS

HomeSafe can only be used by you, and the service is restricted to your listed vehicle. Up to 3 extra passengers can accompany you at no additional cost, provided that the whole journey does not exceed 50km or 60 minutes and that all passengers are dropped off at the same destination.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Make use of this service when you need to be driven home in your own vehicle. To make use of HomeSafe, you can either pre-book the service or call for a last-minute booking.

Pre-booking: This is highly recommended (particularly on public holidays and busy times of the year) as it ensures that you will be taken home at a prearranged time, with no waiting period.

Last-minute booking: You can request the service up to an hour before they want to be collected, however it is subject to availability, traffic and the number of other call out requests.

To make a booking, phone the call centre at least 2 hours before the service is required. You will receive an SMS to confirm the venue/time/drop-off address/driver name and details.

Once the driver has arrived, you will receive an SMS from the call centre and a call from the driver, confirming that he/she is waiting outside the venue or at your car.

It is recommended that you check the driver’s ID to confirm his/her name before handing over keys. The driver will take you home in your vehicle, and the back-up driver will follow in a second vehicle.

While every effort is made to be on time, in the event of a delay, you will be notified via SMS.

CANCELLATION

If you fail to meet the driver at the arranged time, you will be notified that the driver will be leaving, and the forfeit for a free trip will apply.

By signing up for this service, you will receive a welcome SMS, which will highlight the benefits and inform you to save the number as a speed dial. In the event of an emergency , you simply press the Panic SOS button on your cell phone. At the time of receiving this alert in the alarm centre, all your location details would have been populated into the case management system, which will better assist the agents to send the necessary help to you.

The call centre acts as a crisis manager and will provide

total care for you whatever your situation.

With your permission, the call centre will contact a family member, colleague or friend to assist in the process where this is considered useful. If there is no answer on the phone that generated the panic, the call centre phones you back 3 times at 60-second intervals.

In the event that in the fourth call there is no response, the call centre will leave a voice message and send a Notification of Call SMS to your phone, which includes an alternative number that you can use to phone the call centre. The call centre will also invite you to press the Panic SOS button again (which starts the entire process off again).

In the meantime, the call centre will then contact next of kin or a contact person, if provided by member, to establish whether they know where you are or were heading. With the help of these contacts, the call centre will continue to assist you until the situation has been resolved and the case closed.

Glaziers

Glazier assistance is a 24-hour help line, which will

dispatch a glass replacement specialist to ensure that the damaged windscreens, side glass or building glass can be professionally replaced. Please note that no materials (like the actual glass) are covered, as this is for your own account.

Electricians

Assistance will be provided to you in circumstances where the emergency is any of the following: distribution boards, circuits, main cables, earth-leakage or geyser connections and elements causing 100% power failure. Also, if your plug points, light fittings, switches or connections to electrical motors (e.g. electric gate motor) cause a 100% power failure, we will send out the right professionals to take care of the situation.

Lightning strikes on wiring and multiple burnt connections on wiring or plug points, which cause a 100% power failure, will be covered. Geyser connections and elements causing 100% power failure and connections to all electrical motors (e.g. electric gate motor) causing 100% (one hundred percent) power failure” will be covered.

Exclusions

Please note we don’t cover repairs to electric gates and doors, jacuzzis, swimming pools, boreholes, borehole pumps, air conditioners, commercial refrigeration or repairs not complying with regulated specifications (such as SABS and others). Our services do not extend to electrical motors (e.g. electric gate motor) and main electrical supply interruptions to permanent residence.

Locksmiths

If keys are broken off or lost for a main entrance of your house, we will send a locksmith to assist you. Also, if someone is locked inside any room within your house, you don’t need to panic, as we will dispatch assistance immediately.

EXCLUSIONS

In the event of a burglary incidents, you will be assisted, but it will be for your own account. We do not cover garages, padlocks, replacing

of damaged locks or provide assistance at business premises.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS ALSO INCLUDED

We will also provide you with professional service if you need tree felling, bee keepers or pest controllers for wood borer beetles, thatch lice, cockroaches, fleas, fish moths, ants, ticks and rodents.

PLATE GLASS BREAKAGE

We will dispatch a glass replacement specialist to ensure that the damaged fixed

glass can be professionally replaced. We will cover the call-out fee and first hour of labour.

LOCKSMITH REQUIREMENTS

If keys are locked inside the office, we will provide you with the services of a locksmith to open the locks. We will cover the call-out fee and the first hour of labour. If door locks need to be replaced where keys were lost or stolen, this will be for the company’s account.

In addition to the general medical advice service, one call to the same number will trigger the medical operators who will guide you through a medical crisis situation, provide you with emergency advice and organise for you to receive the support you need. This includes referrals to crisis lines for child and domestic abuse, rape, bereavement, suicide hotline and poison hotline.

MEDICAL TRANSPORTATION

In the event of your involvement in a medical emergency, emergency medical transportation will be provided for by road or by air ambulance, under appropriate medical supervision.

Appropriate life-saving support will be provided to you, and where relevant, you will be stabilised before transfer is provided to the

closest appropriate medical facility (for your own account or medical aid).

Medical considerations, the degree of urgency, your state and fitness to travel and other considerations, including, but not limited to, airport availability, weather conditions and distance to be covered as assessed by the contact centre doctor and support staff, will determine whether transport will be provided by medically equipped helicopter, regular scheduled flight, rail or road.

All fees here are billed via an alternate re-imbursement model. We reserve the right to bill the patient at the tariff, if no form of cover for transportation is evident.

In the unfortunate event of you being in hospitalised or rushed to an emergency room, paramedics and medical personnel will be

By using Medical Network you have acess to a national network of doctors, optometrists and dentists at a discounted rate.

If you want to use your own doctor, the call centre will contact the doctor and ask the doctor to join the network and you can use your own doctor and receive the discount.

DOCTORS

You will receive a 20% discount on consultation fees. If the doctor does package deals (consultation and medicine), the medicine part will be excluded (medicine is regulated and cannot be discounted) and the consultation will be discounted. The call centre is a 24/7 facilitation centre that has the infrastructure to provide you with access to immediate assistance. The call-centre nurses take control of situations

and manage the process of communication with individuals and service providers.

In the event of HIV-infection, you must call the helpline and give details of your circumstances, any immediate dangers and your condition. The nurses will arrange for the necessary assistance, be it the police or the nearest local emergency assistance services etc. The nurses will monitor your medical condition and should the situation develop into a medical emergency, the nurses will arrange for emergency medical evacuation, either by road or air ambulance. They will arrange for you to be transported to a hospital with emergency facilities closest to the scene of the
