Based on the crossbase standard software, a PIM, MAM and crossmedia solution tailored to individual requirements was implemented for Julius Blum GmbH. The starting point is the interface to the IBM host. Via this connection, all sales items including logistical data are passed on to the PIM system. The data is updated at night. In the case of new or changed items, defined workflow events are triggered. The SAP data is enriched in the PIM system with extensive images, documents

and texts and mapped in various market- and media-spe-cific product views. These include, for example, the proven DYNACAT CD-ROM product catalog, the POIS product online information system, the MAIS marketing online information system and the over 700-page product catalog, which Blum produces for over 25 countries. The solution is rounded off by a linked translation system and the output of electronic catalogs in BMEcat format for trade partners.
