< Installing Solidworks 2015>

1. It is suggested that an internet connection is secured while installing Solidworks. W h e n t h e Solidworks 2015 DVD is inserted, an installation wizard window, like the one shown below, will automatically pop up. Choose individual installation (current computer) [개별 설치(현재 컴퓨터) in Korean] and click the arrow on the bottom right corner to go to the next page.

1. When the window asking for the product number pops up, check the first

box that says ‘Solidworks Standard, Professional, Premium, Solidworks User Rights (right)’ and enter the 24-digit product number in the 6 blank boxes. Press the arrow at the bottom to go to the next page.

2. After a moment, the product number will be recognized automatically through

the Solidworks server. If a statement saying “Cannot connect to server” pops up during this step, make sure you are connected to the internet. If you cannot connect to the internet, press “Cancel” and continue.

3. If an internet connection is found, the most recent service pack will be

available for download. If you want this download, choose “Yes, download and install.”, and then choose ‘2015 Sp5.0”. Press next to go to the next page.

4. If there is an older version of the program already installed, click ‘Install new version’ in order to create a new installation pathway.

5. If SOLIDWORKS 2015 Premium is installed, the window should be as shown

below. Agree to the User Terms by clicking “I Agree to the SOLIDWORKS User Terms”. The installation location is automatically set to C:\Program Files\Solidworks Corp. If there are problems with the installation location, change the location of the installment. If there are no problems, click “download and install” to the set installation location and continue with installation.

6. (Only applies to classroom version) When the SOLIDWORKS Installation Manager

Window pops up, enter ‘25734@servername’ in the port@server [포트@서버] box. Enter the name of the server name in the server’s main computer, and when the program is installed on the other computers, the name of the main computer needs to be entered as well. For example, if the computer’s name is ‘main01’, enter ‘25734@main01’.

i. If the server cannot be found due to a different IP region, enter ‘25734@ip address’. For example, enter ‘25734@190.119.50.104’. It is necessary that the server computer’s IP address is entered. Do the same for the client computer installations.

※ How to check/change the PC name

In Windows 7, the PC name can be found in “Control Panel system PC name. In

Windows 8.1, the PC name can be found in Start Settings System Information.

7. After pressing ‘Next’ [확인] upon the entering of the PC name, the following message will pop up. Press ‘Ok’ and continue the installation.

8. When the Solidworks installation proceeds, wait for the installation to finish.

9. When the window below pops up, put the enclosed CD 2 in the CD-ROM in

order to continue the installation, and press ‘OK’ [확인].

10. When the installation completes, the window will ask for answers about ‘See new functions’, ‘survey’, and ‘customer feedback program’. The answers to these questions do not affect the installation. After selection of any answer, click on ‘Finish’.
