Partic- ipating Cities are eligi- ble to receive a credit up to 15% of the sol- id waste fees collect- ed. The credit in- creases to a maxi- mum of 20% if the City also voluntarily bans disposal of yard waste at their landfill. To obtain the re- fund; a City must have a Compost Au- thorization and an approved Compost Plan with TCEQ. The compost op- eration can be located either on or off-site and must demon- strate the following: Refunds are used to lease or pur- chase and operate equipment neces- sary to compost yard waste; Compost opera- tions are actually performed; and The finished com- post material pro- duced is returned to beneficial use. Below you will find the current market prices for June, 2012. SOW is WOW! Up 30% from last month! If your community is not recycling Sorted Office Waste, now is the time to start! Paper adds-up quickly and sells very well. SOW includes, printer paper, envelopes, manila envelopes, magizines, brochures, some newspaper, shredded paper. Banks, schools, businesses and City Hall are all great producers of SOW. The other papers and plastics held pretty steady. OCC saw a 2.63% drop for June.
