Perform the annual Routine inspection and the Fracture Critical inspection of the Blatnik bridge, B-16-5, in accordance with the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS), the Minnesota Department of Transportation Bridge and Structure Inspection Program Manual (BSIPM), the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Structure Inspection Manual and the WisDOT Structure Inspection Field Manual.

Project Description : All inspections will be conducted in accordance with applicable standards and governing documents. All inspectors must be approved by the department prior to performing inspections; inspectors may be evaluated during the performance of inspections. It is anticipated that the consultant will need 10-12 inspectors. Department staff may accompany consultant inspection teams. All field work, including drone inspection, must be performed during July 2019.

The purpose of this project is to improve the pavement of STH 80 and complete repairs to structures B-62-0030 and B-62-0031. The project is needed because the pavement surface is aged and deteriorated with extensive cracking. Structure B-62-0030 and B-62-0031 have spalls and cracks in the concrete slabs along with the railing that also have cracks and spalls with exposed rebar. B-26-0030 SE and NE wing walls have spalls with exposed rebar. Perpetuation project to replace the existing pavement.

The project begins at CTH C in Vernon County and continues northerly to the south abutment of South Fork Baraboo River Bridge located just outside of Hillsboro. The pavement treatment will consist of milling off 2 inches of the existing asphalt and overlaying with 3.5 inches of HMA. Beam guard ends through out the project will be upgraded to current standards. Four structures (B-62-31 & 30, B-52-103 & 102) will receive concrete overlays. The consultant will perform the structure designs.

Treatment is needed to extend the service life. The proposed treatment is a 3-lane TWLTL. This proposed rehabilitation will help the update the existing facility and utilities, increase the longevity of the roadway and the safety for the roadway users. The project length is 0.91 miles.

Project Description : This project within the City of La Crosse begins at Oakland Street and continues easterly to Losey Blvd. The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse abuts the highway to the south. Myrick Park and Oak Grove Cemetary abuts the highway to the north. Rear end crashes from left turning vehicles are the predominant crash pattern that will be addressed with the project.
