Project BenefitsA. To Project Owners
Ability to Build, Operate and possibly Transfer the power plant.
Income/ revenue from the sale of electricity generated.
Creation of opportunity for possible expansion into other cities, towns and countries in Africa.
Maintenance costs, too, are relatively low, because a PV facility is a fixed installation, and has no
moving parts.
Since the suns energy is free of charge and relatively consistent and predictable in an average year,
despite diurnal and seasonal variables, investment in PV represents long-term, predictable, lucrative
investment opportunities with comparatively low risks.
The market for solar power plants continues to develop and increase The project, once commissioned, will be elevated to National Project Status hence no import duties
on components. The company will enjoy a tax break.
B. To Communities
Creation of employment.
Exchange of knowledge and skills.
Empowerment.
Provision of the much needed electricity in communities. Creation of community projects as part of Corporate Social Responsibility.
C. To the country
Economic development
Social development
Good constant supply of electricity hence no more power cuts/outages hence improving lives of its
citizens.
