Soil Health Card Mobile Apps Installation & Usage Guide Registering Soil Samples on the Go Soil Health Card mobile apps are being used for registration of soil samples collected at farm fields and entry of test results. This information is then sent to the national Soil Health Card Portal (http://soilhealth.dac.gov.in). Sample Registration requires entry of details about Farmer, his Land holdings, crops for which recommendations are sought and fertilizers available to improve the health of the soil. Mobile application captures the longitude and latitude of the place automatically where samples are collected thus ensuring authenticity of the sample collection and correctness of the information. The app has been further updated for fetching the data entered in the first cycle during sample registration for second cycle making the data entry for second cycle easier. Test Result entry mobile app is used by Soil Testing Lab Officials at the soil testing laboratories to enter the test results for 12 parameters of the registered soil samples. Mobile application does not require net connectivity during sample details entry from the fields or test results entry. Data is stored and pushed on server whenever net connectivity is established.

Installation & Usage Guide

Registering Soil Samples on the Go

Soil Health Card mobile apps are being used for registration of soil samples collected at farm fields and entry

of test results. This information is then sent to the national Soil Health Card Portal

(http://soilhealth.dac.gov.in). Sample Registration requires entry of details about Farmer, his Land holdings,

Which devices does the mobile app support?

You can install Soil Health Card and Test Result Entry Mobile App on any mobile devices that have Android

(tablets and phones) operating systems.

Installation Process

User can download or install Application directly from below sources:

a. NIC Play Store (http://egovmobileapps.nic.in) (available in Apps with name Soil Health Card Mobile App, DACF&W and Test Result Entry App, DACF&W)

b. Soil Health Card Web Site http://soilhealth.dac.gov.in (available under Downloads section on Home Page)

• Click on downloaded .apk file.

• Installation starts.

• After successful installation, open the application.

• Go to Application Home Page by clicking on OPEN application.

• After few minutes of buffer, login page will appear. Login into app using authorized credentials.

c. Google Play Store (available name Soil Health Card Mobile App, DACF&W and Test Result Entry App, DACF&W)

Pre-requisite settings on your smart-device

Supported Android Versions - Jelly Bean 4.1 and above.

Unknown Source security to be enabled in the smart device

Steps to be followed to enable Unknown Sources:

a. Click Security Button on menu. b. Then select the Security tab. It will show the Security Settings window. c. Select the enable radio button for Unknown Sources, It will prompt a dialog box

asking ‘Your phone and personal data are more vulnerable to attack by app from Unknown sources you agree that you are solely responsible for any damage to your phone or loss of data that may result from using these apps?’ Click OK.

Google Indic key board download:

a. Google Indic Keyboard allows you to type messages, update on soil health card mobile app in your own native language on your Android phone. b. Download Google Indic key board from google play store

c. How can you enable it and set it as the default keyboard?

On Android 5.x and newer versions:

i. Open Settings -> Language & Input, under “KEYBOARD & INPUT METHODS” section, go to Current Keyboard -> Choose Keyboards -> Check “Google Indic Keyboard” -> back to “Language & input” -> Current Keyboard -> Select “English & Indic Languages (Google Indic Keyboard)”When typing in an input box, you can also change the default input method by clicking the keyboard icon on the bottom right corner of the screen.

ii. When typing in an input box, you can also change the default input method by selecting “Choose input method” in the Notification area.

How to register soil samples using the app on the field?

Video Demonstration for soil sample registration using mobile app is available once you login into the

application with authorized credentials. View/ Download the demonstration available under ‘Demo’ in left-

hand side menu of your logged-in Soil Health Card Web Page.

Register the soil sample on the field through mobile using the simple steps listed below.

1. Enter user name and password used to login into Soil Health Card Portal, app home screen will appear as

shown in (a) and (b).

2. Select farmer details to enter necessary details and touch ‘Save’ to save the farmer details.

8. Details can be edited before Submission using ‘Review and Submit’. Submitted Samples are viewed under

‘Dashboard’.

9. To submit the saved sample to Soil Health Card Portal, go to dashboard & upload the sample as shown in

(m).

10. Register a previous cycle sample into current cycle using ‘Entry for new cycle’ by entering only Sample No.

or Village Grid number

11. Submitted Samples can be viewed/ edited on the portal in your login account in Registered Samples as

shown in (n),(o),(p) and (q).

11. For Test Result entry, select Test Result entry on home screen and enter Sample No. & its test result

values.
