JEREMIAH 22:3 NIV FETAL DEVELOPMENT (an excerpt from “Making an Informed Decision About Your Pregnancy”, Frontlines Publishing, 2000) Day 1 e second the egg is fertilized by a sperm, it contains the plans for every detail of the baby’s development, including sex, hair and eye color, and height. LOCAL STATISTICS 8,386 pre-born children lost their lives to abortion in South Hampton Roads in 2009, according to the most current published statistics from the Virginia Department of Health. 1 ere is one abortion for every two births in South Hampton Roads. U.S. STATISTICS Each year in the U.S., more than 1.2 million pre-born children lose their lives to abortion. 2 90% of all parents who receive a prenatal diagnosis of Down’s Syndrome will abort their child. 3 One out of every six abortions are performed on women who identify them- selves as “born again” Christians. 4 At current rates, about 35% of American women will have had an abortion by the time she reaches age 45. 5 African-Americans represent about 13% of the U.S. population.
