1 - Overview

IntroductionThis user manual provides you with a resource for step-by-step instructions on the AFS Connect 2.0 Portal and theAFS Pro 700 navigation.

The AFS Connect 2.0 Portal is web based. It can be accessed by https://www.caseihconnect.com.

The AFS Connect 2.0 Portal is optimized to run with Chrome and Firefox internet browsers.

The minimum resolution is 1024x768 for landscape view and 768x1024 for portrait view.

A connection speed of at least 300 kbps is recommended for the best experience.

Desktop displayOnce you log in, the “Desktop” page will display. This page shows a set of graphical items that report informationabout the system.

The Desktop page is divided into four panels:

• Fleet Management —Displays the number of companies, fleets, and units that the user has access to as well as the number of alarmsfor the vehicles in the fleet.

• Reports —Quickly view the percentage of vehicles in the fleet that are “On”, “Off”, and “Working”.

• Utility —Displays the number of unread messages and provides a short cut to the “Utility >> Messaging” page.

• Administration —The tractor icon serves as a short-cut to the “Administration >> Data >> Equipment” page.

The visibility and functionality of features within the AFS Connect Portal depends on the user access level. Pleaserefer to the User Access Level chart for functionality and permissions with each user access level.

Fleet viewThe Fleet View tab provides a map that displays all of the available vehicles and their locations as well as access tothe Fleet Management screen.

Map

The map displays the last position received from each vehicle in the fleet. When the mouse is over the map, themouse-pointer will appear as a hand. To zoom in on a location on the map, point the hand at a continent, country,state, or city and double click the mouse. The “Pan Arrow” and/or the “Zoom Bar” tools available on the top-left cornerof the map are also available for use.

Depending on the zoom level, vehicles are grouped on the map in clusters of different sizes:

Red cluster — More than 50 units

Orange cluster — From 11 to 49 units

Blue cluster — From 1 to 10 units

After you select a cluster, the vehicles (and their related icons) display in white circles on the map.

To display the “Equipment Info” panel, click on any vehicle icon. The following details will display in the “EquipmentInfo” panel:

Go to “Administration >> Profiles >> Status” to edit the values that determine the vehicle’s status.

Click and drag the panel to move the “Equipment Info” panel around the screen. Click the “X” in the upper right of thepanel to close it.

Center

Select the “Center” option to zoom-in and center the map on the selected vehicle. The vehicle’s icon will change to“Center” status which is represented by a down-arrow symbol.

CAN ViewerThe CAN Viewer provides a remote representation of up to 40 CAN parameters from the vehicle. Choose the “CANViewer” selection and a panel will “slide over” the current screen. You can only view the CAN parameters when youselect “Start”. Thirty minutes of “CAN Viewer Time” is available per day, per vehicle. The “Remaining Time” will alwaysshow “0” minutes until you select the “Start” button and the portal connects to the vehicle. Once the portal connects,the “Remaining Time” will be shown. Always select the “Stop” button before you exit the CAN Viewer.

The CAN Viewer consists of four major areas: Instrument Cluster, Display Area, Run Area, and the positioning button.

To close the “CAN Viewer” panel, click the left arrow on the left of the screen. The panel will slide back to the left anddisappear.

CAN Viewer – Instrument Cluster and Display

The instrument cluster and display area remotely display alarms from the vehicle.

Each alarm pop-up message window provides the following information:

• Main alarm icon

• Secondary alarm icon

• Title

• Alarm code

• Description

• The background color of the pop-up window defines the severity level.STOP: Red backgroundCAUTION: Orange backgroundINFO: Light yellow background

The “Platform” that you assign in “Administration >>Data>>Equipment” determines the alarm messages that you willreceive. If no “Platform” is assigned to the vehicle, the common platform messages list is searched and will providealarm messages if possible. Click on the related alarm icon to re-open an alarm pop-up window.

Each alarm icon in the ”Display” and “Instrument cluster” areas use the same severity levels as the pop-up messagesabove.

To close the “CAN Viewer” panel, click the left arrow on the left of the screen. The panel will slide back to the left anddisappear. The “Fleet management screen will display.

CAN Viewer: Run

The “Run” area provides access to a set of six screens. Each screen displays up to 12 CAN parameters from theselected vehicle. Press the “Run 1–6” buttons at the bottom of the panel to access each of the six screens.

CAN parameters will not update until you press the “Start” button. Press the “Start” button and the portal connectswith the vehicle to begin a new “Live Time” session. The CAN parameters will constantly update until you press the“Stop” button or until the 30 min of “Live Time” is used.

If none of the CAN parameters update, make sure that the corresponding CAN profile is assigned. Go to “Adminis-tration >> Profile >> CAN BUS” to set up the CAN profile.

The “Run Area” can be customized under “User >> CAN Viewer” (up to six).

CAN Viewer: Positioning

Use the position button (the four arrows in the bottom right panel) to reposition the CAN Viewer panel as desired. Tomove the panel over the page, click the positioning button. The positioning button will turn red. Hold the left-mousebutton on any area of the CAN Viewer screen and drag it to the desired position. Release the left-mouse button todrop it in the desired position.

DashboardThe "Dashboard" feature can display up to 10 active gauges (Key Performance Indicators). Go to “Administration >>Profiles >> CAN BUS” to configure the parameters.

The Dashboard Panels consists of the following:

• START: This button will start the dashboard session

• STOP: This button stops the dashboard session

• Remaining time: This gauge shows the amount of daily Dashboard Time remaining. There is a limit of 30 min perday.

• Back: This button closes the CAN Viewer panel. Stop the session before you close the panel.

Default selections are:Engine speed [rpm] Engine coolant level [%]Engine oil temperature Fuel level [%]Hydraulic oil temperature Battery voltageEngine coolant temperature Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) level [%]Hydraulic oil pressure Ground speed

The shown units of measurement are in accordance with the configurations in “User >> User Settings” where appli-cable.

To close the Dashboard panel, click the left arrow on the left of the screen. The panel will slide back to the left anddisappear. The “Fleet Management” screen will display.

You must select “Dashboard” to view the panel. Thirty minutes of “Dashboard” is available per day per vehicle. The“Remaining Time” will always show “0” until you select the “Start” button and the portal connects to the vehicle. Once

the portal connects, the “Remaining Time” will display. If the vehicle is in the “Key-Off” status, an “Error” box willdisplay the message “Unable to contact device”.

The “Dashboard” session will stop when:

• The “Stop Button” is selected

• The X on the bottom of the screen is selected

• New Web Page is opened

• 30 min of “Dashboard” has been used

When “Dashboard” is stopped, any remaining time will be available for additional sessions for that day. The regularCAN-Bus reporting rate will resume.

Ping (1)

If the vehicle is in a “Key-On” status and you select the “Ping” option, and updated position of the vehicle displays.When you select “Ping”, it sends a manual request for updated information (location, heading, speed, status, etc.)from the vehicle in addition to the normal update intervals. The Ping command can only be used once every 5 minutesfor a manual update.

Follow (2)

Select the “Follow” option to zoom in on a selected vehicle on the map. The icon will change to the “FOLLOW” status,i.e., a “>>” symbol displays.

While the “FOLLOW” status is active, the “Follow” option in the “Equipment Detail” panel toggles to “Cancel Follow”.Select the “Cancel Follow” option to toggle the name back to “Follow”. The “>>” symbol disappears from the icon andyou can reposition the map as desired.

Reset Alarms (3)

The “Reset Alarms” option marks the alarms as read for the selected vehicle.

Fleet historyHistory tab

The History tab allows you to create a report that shows the position of a vehicle or a group of vehicles during a certaintime-frame.

To access the history, go to “Fleet >> History”.Select a Date/Time range:1. Use the set of “Quick” time-frame button options:( “Today, “Yesterday, “Last 7 days”, “Last 30 days”) OR2. Manually select a Date/Time range on the “Calendar” for “From:” and “To:” limits in the “Date range” tab.

Select a vehicle:1. In the search field, begin to type the name of the company, fleet or equipment that you wish to view. This will filter

to only those companies, fleets, or equipment with that name. Select one or more vehicles. OR2. Click on the Company, Fleet, and Equipment tiles that are shown in the “Fleet” tab.

The vehicles you select are shown in a list in the “You have selected” panel. This panel is in the lower part of the“Fleet tab”. Click on the “X” next to delete a selected vehicle.

Launch the report

Press the “GENERATE REPORT” button to launch the report.

The report screen is split into two parts. The left side of the screen displays the list of all retrieved positions is listedin the bottom right corner.

To navigate to additional pages, click on the left (previous) or right (next) arrows. Each vehicle position tile displaysthe following data:

• Equipment ID

• Message type (Sleep, Wake, Key ON, ON Message, Schedule position, CAN, Key OFF, Standby, Motion, ReportStatus, etc.)

• Speed

• “Center on Map” button

• Timestamp of the message

Move the mouse pointer over a tile in the list and the tile enlarges. Click on the tile and the background color of thetile will change to red . The color of the related position on the map will also change to red . This will allow you toquickly identify that position in the overall “breadcrumb trail”.

The “REFRESH” button in the lower left corner of the position list allows you to refresh the list.

A map of the related vehicle positions (“breadcrumb trail”) displays on the right side of the screen. The mouse pointerwill appear as a hand when it is over the map. To zoom in on a location on the map, point the hand and double clickthe mouse. The “Pan Arrow” and/or the “Zoom Bar” tools on the top-left corner of the map are also available for use.

Click on any of the position points and it will turn red . The background color of the related tile will also turn red .

The map also includes the option to switch from “Map” to “Satellite”. The “Map” option displays the road map of thearea. When you select “Map”, there is a check box for a “terrain” option available. The “Satellite” option displays asatellite image of the area. When you select “Satellite”, there is a check box for a “Labels” option available.

5 - Reports

OverviewReports allow a user to access information across their Equipment fleet in an easily accessible manner. The reportsfeature has three categories: Productivity, Agriculture, and Performance.

Productivity reportsProductivity reports help users analyze their vehicle operation:

• Key ON/OFF – displays the amount of time each selected vehicle was ON or OFF during a specific time-frame. Thereport page will show each session after it receives the complete key on and off cycle. Horizontal bars representthe report data. Each horizontal bar represents a selected vehicle and the bars display in ascending date order.The bars for a day are shown only if there is activity recorded for the vehicle for that day. Each bar graph is dividedinto 24 hours. The white areas on the bar graph show the time that the vehicle was ON. Move the mouse-pointerover the white area and an info-balloon provides details about the start and end times.

• Equipment Utilization – displays the amount of time each selected vehicle spent in each of the Equipment OperationStates in a specified time-frame. The report data is shown on different tiles. One tile represents each selectedvehicle. The name of the vehicle is on the bottom side of each tile and is next to the Total Key-ON Time, in theselected time-frame.

Vertical bands in each tile display recorded Equipment States, and use the default status colors. The width of a verticalcolored band in any tile is proportional to the related time percentage of the vehicle in that status, with respect to theoverall observation time. A legend is under each tile for the related vehicle. Vehicles that were in a Key-OFF statusfor that time-period, show a grey background in the related tile.

Agriculture reportsAgriculture reports allow users to analyze the Agriculture parameters reported by the machine:

• Area Worked – displays a graphical representation of the area worked during a specified time-frame

• Yield Average – displays a graphical representation of the average yield during a specified time-frame

• Flow Average – displays a graphical representation of the average crop flow during a specified time-frame

• Moisture Average – displays a graphical representation of the average crop moisture during a specified time-frame

• Weight – displays a graphical representation of the crop weight harvested during a specified time-frame

• Average Fuel Rate – displays a graphical representation of the average rate of fuel consumption during a specifiedtime-frame

• Engine Hours – displays a graphical representation of the amount of engine hours accumulated during a specifiedtime-frame

The report data is represented on different tiles, one for each selected vehicle. The name of the vehicle is printed onthe top left corner of each tile and machine specific value is shown in the bottom right corner.

If any of the “Agriculture” specific options were selected for the report execution, the retrieved matching values arealso displayed inside the tiles.

The vehicle with the highest value will be displayed with the tile fully colored. Only one tile will be fully colored (un-less other tiles display the same fuel usage). The other tiles are filled proportionally. This allows for quick and easycomparisons of vehicles.

Performance reportsPerformance reports allow users to analyze the performance of their equipment fleet:

• Vehicle Data – displays the CAN-BUS data from each selected vehicle during that was collected during a specifiedtime-frame

Managed CAN-Bus parameters data can be received from the vehicle if a proper “CAN-Bus Profile” has been config-ured and assigned to it in “Administration >> Profiles >> CAN Bus”.

• Alarms – display all alert messages sent by the selected vehicle during a specified time-frame. The listed alertmessages display:

○ Status (Read/Unread)

○ Equipment ID

○ Alarm Text

○ Alarm Type

○ Timestamp (of alert generation)

○ Received Time

For “Vehicle Data” reports, a retrieved list of CAN parameters will be displayed in a new “Vehicle Data” screen.

To choose the desired parameters to display in the report:

• Select (Check/Uncheck) each CAN-Bus parameter

• Use the “Select all” / “Select none” buttons to select CAN-Bus parameters

Once you have made your parameter selections, click on the “VIEW DATA” button to see the data. The report screenhas two parts. The left side of the screen displays the list of all of the selected parameters. The right side of thescreen displays the report data organized by vehicle and Time/Data for each of the selected CAN-BUS parameters,arranged in a column.

In the bottom right corner is the number of retrieved parameters. To navigate to additional pages, click on the left(previous) or right (next) arrows. A “REFRESH” button is in the bottom left corner of the position list that allows youto refresh the list as desired.

Click the left arrow on the left of the screen to close the Vehicle Data report. The Vehicle Data report will disappearand the report parameters selection page will display.

Generate a reportThe reports feature can be found under “Reports” in the top toolbar. Navigate to the specific report that you wish torun on your Equipment fleet.

Select a Date/Time range:1. Use the set of “Quick” time-frame button options (“Today”, “Yesterday”, “Last 7 days”, “Last 30 days”) OR2. Manually select a Date/Time range on the “Calendar” for “From:” and “To:” limits, in “Date range” tab.

Select a vehicle:1. In the search field, begin to type the name of the company, fleet or equipment that you wish to view. This will filter

to only those companies, fleets, or equipment with that name. Select one or more vehicles. OR2. Click on the Company, Fleet, and Equipment tiles that are shown in the “Fleet” tab.

The selected vehicles are shown in the “You have selected” panel. This panel is in the lower part of the “Fleet” tab.Click on the “X” next to delete a selected vehicle.

For “Alarm Reports”, choose the “Alarm State” tab next to the “Fleet” tab. Choose to view either “Unread” or “Read”alarms. The chosen parameter is listed in the “You have selected” panel in the lower part of the “Alarm State” tab. Toview all alarms, make no selection under the “Alarm State” tab.

For “Agriculture Reports”, there are additional options available in the report. Options include:

MessagingMessages

Messages can be sent to a vehicle requesting a response based on a fixed set of answers.

To enable the messaging capability on a vehicle, go to “Administration >> Data >> Equipment”. Click on the “Edit”box next to the desired vehicle and then check the box for “Enable messaging”. Click on “Save”.

Send message

To send a message go to “Utility >> Messaging”. A list of all vehicles configured for messaging will appear. Begintyping into the search field the name of the vehicle that you wish to view. This will filter to only those vehicles withthat name.

Next to the desired vehicle, select the “Send Message” box . The “Messaging” screen will appear and displaythe vehicle’s name and icon on the right pane.

Compose the desired message in the left pane with the “Compose your Message” title below it. The message can

be a maximum length of 160 alphanumeric characters. If you click on the “Trash-Can” icon , you will delete themessage.

Select two possible reply options among the fixed set of four answers in the “Select reply” area. Choices are “OK”,“Later”, “Yes”, or “No”. The two selected possible replies are shown on the operator’s display in the vehicle when themessage is delivered.

Click the “Send Message” icon. If the message cannot be delivered to the target vehicle, an “Error” box will displaythe message “Unable to contact device”. Click “OK” to return to the “messaging” screen.

Once the message has been successfully sent to the vehicle, one or more replies can be sent from the vehicle and

will be listed in the “Messaging history” page for that vehicle.

Click the left arrow on the left of the screen to close the messaging screen. The messaging selection page will display.

Messaging History

To view the message history, select the “History” box next to the desired vehicle. The “Messaging” history screenwill open and display the vehicle’s name. Only conversations from this user will appear. Conversations between thevehicle and other users are not shown for reasons of privacy.

Once the “Messaging” history screen is open, it is then possible to:

• View the history of the replies for each sent message.

• Delete a message in the history. Click on the “Trash-can” icon at the bottom of each message. A confirmationbox will appear asking “Are you sure you want to delete the item?”. Click “OK” to delete the message.

Click the left arrow on the left of the screen to close the messaging screen. The messaging selection page will reap-pear.

With File Transfer, CN1 files can be sent from the Pro 700 to the AFS Connect Portal and from the Portal to the display.One-way File Transfer is available for ISO XML files (display to portal).

• AFS Connect Basic or Advanced Subscription

• Compatible AFS Pro 700 Firmware (Contact your local CASE IH dealer for the latest Firmware)

• USB inserted into the display

• Customer Manager level portal access

For each vehicle, there are two buttons available:

• Upload: this button is used to upload files into the web portal and transfer to a vehicle

• Download: this button is used to download files to the desktop that have been transferred from the vehicle

Download File transfer files

To download the .CN1 or TASKDATA (ISO XML) file, click on the “Download Files” button next to the respective vehiclename. This will open the “File Transfer Download” screen. Select either “ALL FILES” OR “ALL FILES + FOLDERS.Once you make a selection, select “download.”

The downloaded files can then be utilized by Desktop software.

The File Transfer Download page contains the following:

• Equipment info – The information about the currently selected vehicle

• “LAST ZIP FILE” – The filename and timestamp of the last received file

• “SYNC STATUS” – The status of the sync request

• “ALL FILES+FOLDERS” – This button will add all files and folders in the current directory to the “You have selected”area

• “ALL FILES” – This button will add all files in the current directory to the “You have selected” area

• “DOWNLOAD” – This button will download the selected files and folders to your desktop

• “REQUEST SYNC” – This button will request the vehicle display to send in all files in the .CN1 and/or the TASKDATAfolders as selected in the proceeding prompt

• “UNDO SYNC” – This button will cancel any in-process sync request

• File Location – The left of the screen shows the folder directory path along with all files that have been selected fordownload

The normal process to download files for use in AFS Software (Desktop) is to select “ALL FILES+FOLDERS” whilein the root directory.

To upload a .CN1 file from the portal to a display, click on the “Upload Files” button next to the respective vehiclename. This will open the “File Transfer Upload” screen. To locate the file on your computer, click the “Browse” button.Navigate to the appropriate file and click on “Open”. The CN1 file must be zipped in order to select it. Once you haveselected the file, click the “Upload” button.

Once the upload is complete, a pop-up will appear to confirm that the file was uploaded successfully. Click OK. Thefile will now be visible in the “Last 20 Transferred Files” area.

Add users

To add a new user, click on the “Add User” button. The “View User / Edit User” screen will be displayed. The left sideof the screen shows the information that has been completed. The mandatory fields in the right side of the screenmust be completed to add a new user. Mandatory fields are noted with an * below.

Search for users

Edit user

To change any of the previously completed information for the user, click on the “Edit” icon to the right of the user tobe edited. Once in the “View User” screen, click on the corresponding field in the “View User” area to automaticallyscroll to the right side of that field to make desired changes.

Click the "SAVE" button at the bottom of the page. If all fields are completed properly a pop-up message “Data havebeen successfully saved" will be display. Click “OK” to close the pop-up window. The data on the left side “View User”area will be refreshed.

Delete user

To delete a user, click the “trash-can” icon to the right of the user that you want to delete. A pop-up message “Areyou sure you want to delete the item" will be displayed. Click “OK” to delete or “Cancel” to close the pop-up windowwithout deleting the user.

Data - Equipment“Equipment” is initially populated through the activation of the hardware. The equipment ID will initially show thedevice information (e.g.: AM50Rev2-1113-SN123) until edited. To manage equipment, go to “Administration >> Data>> Equipment”. The “Equipment” list will appear displaying all current equipment.

Search for equipment

Begin typing into the search field the “Equipment ID”, “Brand”, “Type”, “Model”, or “Device Serial Number” that youwish to view. This will filter to only those “Equipment ID”, “Brand”, “Type”, “Model”, or “Device Serial Number” withthat name.

Edit equipment

Depending on the user access level (role), you may be able to edit the equipment. To edit, click on the “Edit” icon tothe right of the equipment you want to edit. Once into the “View Equipment” screen, click on the corresponding fieldin the “View Equipment” area to automatically scroll to the right side, to that field, and make the desired changes.

1. Equipment ID - Vehicle Name.2. Equipment Serial Number – Unique Equipment Identifier3. Plate - Identifier of the vehicle.4. Visible - Check this box as desired allowing the vehicle to be visible in the “Fleet View” page.5. Combine (Separator/Drum: 0) - Check this box as desired to allow a specific Maintenance profile to be created

for the Separator/Drum (combine only).6. Time-zone – Select the box with the appropriate Time-Zone. When selected, the box should be highlighted red.7. Last update:

• Time-Stamp of last received message from the vehicle.• Engine Hours – Current Engine Hours info received from the vehicle. Can be manually updated.

• GPS Based Odometer – Current Odometer info received from the vehicle. Can be manually updated.

8. Brand – Select the box with the appropriate Brand. When selected, the box should be highlighted red. Use“Undefined” for any vehicle that is not New Holland or Case IH branded.

9. Type – Select the box with the appropriate vehicle type. When selected, the box should be highlighted red10. Model – Select the box with the appropriate vehicle model. When selected, the box should be highlighted red.11. Platform – Select the box with the appropriate platform. When selected, the box should be highlighted red.12. Enable messaging – Check this box as desired allowing users to exchange messages with the drivers of the

vehicle.13. Engine Model – Optional. Model of the vehicle’s engine.14. Engine Brand – Optional. Brand of the vehicle’s engine.15. Engine Serial Number – Optional. Serial Number of the vehicle’s engine.16. Company – Select the box with the appropriate company. When selected, the box should be highlighted red.17. Maintenance – Allows the planning of Maintenance Services for the vehicle.

• OK – Indicates the Maintenance Status of the vehicle. GREEN (“Maintenance Status” = NOT DUE), or RED(“Maintenance Status” = OVERDUE).• Engine Hours – User defined hours at which maintenance should be performed.•Separator/Drum (Combines only) – User defined hours at which the separator/drum maintenance should be per-formed.•Notification Group – Select the box with the appropriate group to be notified. When selected, the box should behighlighted red.• Plan Service – Once the data has been entered, click the “Plan Service” button. A pop-up box will display “Main-tenance planned successfully”. Click “OK” to close the pop-up.Once the “Maintenance Service OVERDUE” alerts are reached, the User must repeat the steps above to set thenext maintenance interval.

18. Profiles – Each of the profiles that have been assigned to the vehicle (“Administration >> Profiles”) is shownin individual tiles (“Status”, “CAN Bus”, “Input/Output”, “Power Management”). Click on the profile and a “Viewdetails” box will open. The “View details box provides the “Profile name”, “Profile type” and “Date of assignment”.Click on the “Trash-can” icon next to the profile name to delete the profile. A pop-up message “Are you sure youwant to delete the item” will display. Click “OK” to delete or “Cancel” to close the pop-up window without deletingthe profile. To close the “View Details” box, click the “CANCEL” button or the “X” in the upper right corner of thebox.

19. File Transfer Type – If File Transfer option is assigned to the vehicle, this option allows the user to select the filesthat the display should upload to the portal.

20. Notes – Optional field to note important vehicle information.

Additional fields on the “View Equipment” panel that cannot be modified:

• Unique ID – Identifies the device that has been enabled for a subscription.

• Service Level – Identifies the subscription type that has been assigned to the vehicle.

• Subscription expiration date – Identifies the subscription expiration date.

Click the “SAVE” button at the bottom of the page. If all fields are completed properly, a pop-up message “Datahave been successfully saved” will display. Click “OK” to close the pop-up window. The data on the left side “ViewEquipment” area is refreshed.

To close the “View Equipment” screen, click on the left arrow on the left of the screen. The equipment list screen willreappear.

Data - FleetA “Fleet” is created automatically each time a company is created. To manage fleets, go to “Administration >> Data>> Fleets”. The “Fleets List” will appear displaying all current fleets. Depending on the access level of the user, fleetscan be added, edited, and deleted.

Search for Fleet

Add Fleet

To add a new fleet, click on the “Add Fleet” button. The “View Fleet / Edit Fleet” screen will display. The left side ofthe screen shows the information that has been completed. Data - CompaniesA company is created for each customer by the dealer. To manage companies, go to “Administration >> Data >>Companies”. The “Companies List” will appear displaying all current companies. Depending on the access level ofthe user, companies can be added, edited, and deleted.

Add Geo-Fence

To add a new Geo-Fence, click on the “Add Geo-Fence” button. The “View Geo-Fence / Edit Geo-Fence” screenwill display. The left side of the screen shows the information that has been completed. Once the area has been identified for inclusion in the Geo-Fence, click on the “pencil” icon on the bottom right.Choose the option for either the polygonal or circular shape. A basic shape will appear on the map. For thepolygonal, a triangle shape will appear. Enlarge the shape and add new vertices by stretching the middle pointof any side of the triangle. For the circular, enlarge the shape by stretching any of the outer points of the circle.The number of vertices are limited to 30 and the number used/remaining will appear to the bottom left of the map.Clicking on the “Trash Can” icon will clear the current shape from the map. To close this screen without saving theGeo-Fence, click the left arrow located on the left of the screen . To save the drawing, click “OK”.

3. Transition alert options – One or both options can be selected. A minimum of one of the options must be selected.4. Alarm notification – The default is “Notification in Web”. Under this option, alerts will only be visible within the

portal. The “Group Notification” option will send alerts to those in a pre-defined Notification Group which can beset up by going to “Administration >> Data >> Notification Groups”.

To assign a Geo-Fence to a unit, click on “Assign” next to the name of the Geo-Fence. A new window will open. Placea check mark in the box next to the Geo-Fence desired.

To select a vehicle:1. Begin typing into the search field the name of the company, fleet, or equipment that you wish to view. This will

filter to only those companies, fleets, or equipment with that name. Select one or more vehicles.2. Click on the Company, Fleet, and Equipment tiles shown in the “Fleet” tab.

Selected vehicles are listed in the “You have selected” panel in the lower part of the “Fleet” tab. Selected vehiclescan be deleted by clicking on the “X” next to the selection. Click on “Assign”. A pop-up message “Data have been

Profiles - Status (Required)The Status profile is assigned to the AM-53 to allow it to report as a specific Equipment model instead of the defaulttractor model. An “Equipment” Status Profile is required to be assigned to the modem before it will report data intothe web portal. The Web Portal will have several default Equipment Status Profiles that will be available for assign-ment such as Flagship Combines, Medium Tractors, Large Tractors, etc. Advanced users will also have the ability tocustomize their own equipment profiles. An Equipment Status Profile can be assigned, edited, cloned, and deleted.

Manage a Status Profile

An Equipment Status Profile can be assigned, edited, cloned, and deleted. These management options function thesame way for a Status Profile as it does for Geo-Fence Profile. When a user navigates to the Status Profile List, therewill be profiles for the large product families.

1. Name – Name for the Profile.2. Standby Duration – When the vehicle is powered off the device enters “standby” status. This setting determines

the amount of time after a Key Off event or motion detection event that the modem stays on prior to Sleep Mode.In Sleep Mode, the asset will not report into the portal until a wake-up occurs after the Sleep Duration expires.Recommended value = 10 minutes.

3. Sleep Duration – This setting determines the amount of time a device stays in sleep mode before waiting up toreport into the portal. Recommended value = 24 hours

4. Bread-Crumb Period – This setting determines the maximum time between location reports when the device isonly used for basic location reporting. Recommended value = 1 minute

5. Max number of wake up events – This setting determines the maximum number of times can wake up within 96hours of sleep before the device transitions into hibernate mode. Once a device is in hibernate mode, it will notreport in again until the key switch is turned on. Recommended value = 100 times

6. Alarm on power state change – If set to “Never”, no alert messages will be sent whenever a power state changeoccurs. If set to “Engine Off” an alert message will be sent whenever a power state change occurs.Notification in Web Only – Alarm message will be visible only in the connect portal.Group Notification – Alarm message will be visible in both the connect portal and will be sent via e-mail to allmembers of the configured “Notification Group” selected. When this option is selected, the existing notificationgroups will appear for selection.

7. Motion detection mode –

○ “Never” – No alert messages will be sent when motion is detected by the internal accelerometer.

○ “Always in Key Off” – Alert messages will be sent by the device any time motion is detected by the internalaccelerometer and the vehicle is in “Standby” status.

○ “Curfew” – Alert messages will be sent when motion is detected by the internal accelerometer, the vehicle is in“Standby” status, and a “Curfew” profile has been assigned to the vehicle and the time stamp of the event alertfalls within a configured Curfew period.

If your chosen option is different than “Never”, select the sensitivity level of “Low”, “Medium”, or “High”. The sensitivitylevel will affect the threshold of the internal accelerometer as to when it will report a motion detection event. HighSensitivity will cause even the smallest vibration/movement to trigger an event report.

The check mark next to a CAN parameterindicates that this parameter will be collected on the vehicle’s CAN BUS. Depending on the access of the user, CANBUS profiles can be viewed, edited, cloned, and deleted. The CAN BUS profile can show up to 40 CAN parametersincluding several mandatory CAN parameters. A CAN BUS Profile is required before an asset can report.

Profiles - Digital inputDigital Input profiles allow the user to view the measurements or status of auxiliary sensors. Examples of sensors thatprovide digital signals are engine alternators and limit switches. To manage DIGITAL INPUT profiles, go to “Admin-istration >> Profiles >> Digital Inputs”. The DIGITAL INPUT profile list will appear and display all currently availableDIGITAL INPUT profiles. Depending on the access of the user, DIGITAL INPUT profiles can be viewed, edited, cloned,and deleted.

Add / Edit Digital Input Profile

To add a new Digital Input Profile, click on the “Add Profile” button. The “View / Edit Digital Input” screen will display.The left side of the screen shows the information that has been completed. You must complete the mandatory fieldson the right side of the screen to add a new Digital Input Profile.

It is only possible to edit clones of Digital Input Profiles. Default profiles cannot be edited. To make changes to any

cloned profiles, click on the “Edit” icon to the right of the Profile to be edited.

Managing a Curfew Profile

A power management profile can also be assigned, edited, cloned, and deleted. These management options functionthe same way for a Curfew Profile as it does for Geo-Fence Profile.

It is only possible to edit user created or clones of CURFEW Profiles. To make changes to any user created or clonedprofiles, click on the “Edit” icon to the right of the Profile to be edited. If all fields are completed properly a pop-upmessage “Data has been successfully saved” will display. Click “OK” to close the pop-up window.

Profiles - Serial PortSerial Port Profiles are available to support the NTRIP service on the AM53 modem. Important: It should only beassigned to AM53s that are utilizing NTRIP. The Standard NTRIP profile is offered with the proper settings to utilizethe Ag262 or Ag372 GNSS receivers.

If a GNSS receiver other than an Ag262 or Ag372 receiver is to be used, a custom profile can be created and assignedto the AM53.

Manage a Serial Port Profile

To add a new Serial Port Profile, click on the “Add Profile” button. The “Edit Serial Port Profile” screen will display.The left side of the screen shows the information that has been completed. You must complete the mandatory fieldson the right side of the screen to add a new Serial Port Profile.

It is only possible to edit clones of Serial Port Profiles. You cannot edit Default profiles. To make changes to any

cloned profiles, click on the “Edit” icon to the right of the Profile to be edited. Once in the “Serial Port Profile/EditSerial Port Profile” screen, click on the corresponding field in the “Serial Port Profile” area on the left to automaticallyscroll to that field to make desired changes.

CAN ViewerThe “CAN Viewer” Run Screens (up to 6) can be customized by going to “User >> CAN Viewer”. Each of the 6 runscreens can show up to 12 CAN parameters. However, only a total of 40 CAN parameters can be monitored at anyone time. A User can select all 40 CAN Parameters, but only the first 12 (alphabetically) will be shown.

Press “No” to leave the “Telematics” application disabled.

When the “Telematics” application is enabled,the “Telematics” icon displays in the status and warningicon area. The number of bars (0-3) indicates the currentstrength of the cellular signal. When the cellular networkis connected, the bars in the icon are green.

When the cellular network is not connected – forexample, coverage is not available or your subscription isnot valid – the bars in the icon are gray.

Press the “Telematics” icon at any time to view details ofthe cellular connection. A pop-up window reports the net-work status and cellular Radio Signal Strength Indicator(RSSI) in decibels.

If the “Telematics” application is enabled andthe modem is not detected on the Controller Area Net-work (CAN), the “Telematics” icon flashes in the statusand warning icon area. The bars are red to indicate thatthe system is not functional.

Press the “Ignore” button to suppress further warningsand continue working without using the “Telematics” ap-plication.

Press the “OK” button to dismiss the message and leavethe fault active.

1. Verify that the setting in the “Telematics CAN Node”window is correct (see below).

2. Verify that the green Light Emitting Diode (LED) forpower on the modem is steady ON. If the LED is blink-ing, the modem firmware is updating. Do not interruptthis process.

3. If the LED is steady ON, cycle the power to the system.4. If the problem persists, check the CAN connection to

the modem.

File transfer enabled (AM53 modem only)

The AM53 modem adds the ability to connect to the AFSConnect server and upload the data from your display.

This option should only be enabled when the File Transferoption is applied to the specific modem for that vehicle.

NOTE: File Transfer Enabled allows the display to remainpowered on for upwards of 3 min upon power-down totransfer data to the modem.

Because the volume of data is too large for communica-tion over the CAN, the display transfers the data to themodem via a serial cable connected to one of the twoRS-232 ports on the display. To enable the file transferfeature, you must identify which RS-232 port the modemis connected to. If using the 9-pin connector on the rearof the display, choose “RS-232-B”.

When the modem establishes communicationwith the server, the cloud icon (1) displays in the statusand warning icon area.

If there is a conflict with the selected port – forexample, another software application needs to commu-nicate on the port – the cloud icon updates with an ex-clamation point. A pop-up message identifies the conflict-ing software application and asks if you want to close the“Telematics” application to allow the conflicting applicationto access the port.

You can press the cloud icon to view the server connectionstatus in a pop-up message.

Press the “OK” button to dismiss the message.

Data Transfer

When you enable the file transfer feature, the “Data Trans-fer” window displays on the “Telematics” screen.

Use the “Sync” button in the “Data Transfer” window toperform the initial synchronization with the server. Youonly need to do this when you set up telematics for thefirst time. Thereafter, the display automatically transmitsnew or changed data at 30 min intervals and when youturn the display OFF.

NOTE: The the initial synchronization may take severalminutes.

Fuel theft delta (tractors only)NOTE: NOTE: The “Fuel Theft Delta” window is only re-quired for growers who intend to use the Short MessageService (SMS) fuel theft alarm feature of the AFS Connecttelematics package.

Use the “Fuel Theft Delta” window to set the threshold forwhen a fuel theft alarm is triggered.

When the system is powered ON, the “Telematics” appli-cation compares the current fuel level to the fuel level thatwas recorded before the system was powered OFF. Thefuel theft alarm is triggered when the difference (or delta)between these two measurements exceeds the percent-age in the “Fuel Theft Delta” window.

NOTE: NOTE: The fuel theft alarm appears on the AFSConnect web portal.

The acceptable range of values for the “Fuel Theft Delta”window is 1 - 20 %. The default setting is 5 %.

Text messages received screen

The vehicle operator can use the “Text MessagesReceived” screen to:

• View a time-stamped list of incoming text messages

• Determine which text messages have been answered

• Respond to text messages

• Delete text messages that are no longer needed

On the “Home” screen, press the “Data Management”icon to access the “Data Management” screens.

Press the “Msgs” (messages) icon in the navigation bar todisplay the “Text Messages Received” screen.

The “Text Messages Received” screen displays a list of in-coming text messages. The text messages appear in re-verse chronological order–the newest message appearsat the top of the list, and the oldest message appears atthe bottom of the list.

NOTE: A maximum of 20 text messages can be storedon the display. If a message is received after this limit isreached, the oldest message is automatically deleted tomake space for the incoming message.
