The main objectives of the software Engineering department, is to transfer to the Canary society concrete solutions in the field of the new technologies.

We focus our activity in the following fields: Applications of Renewable Energies.Applications of Biomedicine. Medical Tecnological Geograpical Information Systems. Virtual Reality. Super-computing. Information technological support

In collaboration with the Renewable Energy Departament, develop software to support projects EERR.

Prediction projects of power from renewable sources. Solar

Forecasting - wind Forecasting

Preparation of the solar map of the Canaries.

Management and analysis of data from meteorological stations. (humidity, solar radiation, etc. ..).

Using ‘Atlanta’ ,the supercomputer of Canaries Island, to execute complex mathematical prediction models.

We work in coordination with Canarian research groups from the Universities and Hospitals to develop technology that will help the medical community in their work. As a Result of this collaboration was born the Motiva project. Its’s possible to emphasize the next two actions:

Specialized applications in medical image viewing.

Use of technology to build and train the medical community (students) in minimally invasive surgery techniques.

In this line, we are attemptting to represent information of interest on the ground in 3D.

We have created a development environment (framework) for 3D applications on virtual land navigation, 3D GIS, which allows other functions perform at the same time that we are navigating. We can highlight the project Geviemer. An application that allows us to manage environmental disasters, in this case fire management. Knowing where a fire starts, predict its evolution over time, and manage human and material resources to combat it

Advasing in Information Technology applied to management.

Advising in information Technologies applied to electronic administration.

Services in the field of Virtual reality : Multipropuse development of virtual reality techniques.

Technological services in the field of medicine (Treatment of medical images, preoperatory simulation, systems of learning for surgical operation, …etc).

Data generation for weather forecasting by use of numerical models.

Our activity is based at the ITC in Pozo Izquierdo (Santa Lucia), and also the Scientific Technological Park of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
