Understanding the latest development methodologies for faster delivery and better quality, SOD

TECHNOLOGIES uses an iterative development process based on an agile framework for building

software solutions for its clients. Our implementation teams are effective in building functional

software applications using an iterative model where the client has the ongoing visibility on the

progress of the project deliverables. Our agile approach establishes an implementation

framework that embraces and capitalizes on changes to business requirements at any time

between the iterations. Our implementation methodology streamlines the conceptualization,

feasibility, requirements analysis and planning phases into a single phase, and our design and

architecture strategy allows for lightweight, frequent and consistent delivery of quality software.

Our implementation teams incorporate a test first, test early and test often approach in the

software development phase. Through daily meetings, formal and informal discussions the

design and development of the solution evolves incrementally over time. We ensure that the

system is always in a stable state through an incremental design approach and followed by

thorough testing. When preparing to release new iterations with added functionality we work

closely with the stakeholders, business users, and sponsors of the system to perform acceptance

testing that is based on business scenarios.

Our agile approach includes processes for defining the inputs, outputs and desired outcomes, and

our project plans include project controls that remove risk, optimize throughput, promotes early

adoption, and assures full-scope realization. By taking larger development initiatives and

developing them in smaller parts, solutions are less complex and are readily adaptable. This

removes extraneous activities that add little value. We define projects in more manageable sizes

Wireframes- Our website development process gets initiated with the creation of wireframes.

Wireframes are visual drafts of the structural layout of the website. The user interface and

modular design of the site will be based on these wireframes. The wireframes and the site map

will establish the functional specifications of the site. This phase involves all the stakeholders in

drawing out the key web pages. The wireframes show the content areas of each page and will

also demonstrate how users will interact with each page of the site. This is a key component of

our development process as it allows both the client and our development team to visualize the

structure of the web site.

Design - Once we have established the wireframes, we will user interface with required look &

feel using Design tools like Adobe Photoshop based on the finalized layouts. Design is an

iterative process typically starting with the front page. In order for a better understanding of the

user interface requirements including the look & feel, SOD will be providing the client with a

Design Questionnaire Document (DQD) that involves practical and conceptual questions

regarding the image that the client wishes to portray through the website. SOD collects the

provided inputs, conducts research and works towards developing an enhanced design direction.

Based on the information gathered, our team will provide the client with three web-design

options (both front page and inner pages) to choose from. The client can then review these

designs and provide feedback for any further refinements. On approval, our team will move

forward with the theming phase.

Theming - It is a critical part of the PHP development process. It involves integrating the site

design with the backend system. In this phase, we will be creating the HTML for the selected

designs with the relevant CSS files. Based on the created HTML files, we will be developing the

relevant theme and integrating the same to the PHP platform.

Develop - Backend development involves installing and customizing contributed PHP modules,

and the development of custom modules based on client’s requirements. The PHP community

already has a large number of user contributed modules that provide functionalities that range

from social networking modules to e-commerce shopping carts. Only customization is needed to

enable these functionalities on the site. However, sometimes we will have to develop custom

modules for the implementing certain functionalities to the PHP platform. This part of the PHP

development will create the framework for the functionalities of the site.

Content Migration - Having performed data migration from various data sources to PHP,

SODTECH follows a strict set of migration procedures whilst the migration process to ensure

entirety of data, data integrity and prevention of data loss. All the data available in the existing

website will be migrated to current development environment in a smooth and controlled

manner. We will be utilizing the information gathered during the detailed analysis to identify and

collect the data. Only after this, our team will move the entire website data, images and any

available digital assets. After successful data migration, the migrated content in the new website

will be provided for the client review.

Quality Assurance - SODTECH ensures that every website that we develop is compliant with

Internet Explorer 6.x to 8.x, FireFox, Google Chrome, Safari browsers and in various screen

resolutions i.e. 800 x 600, 1024 x 768 etc, . Our Quality Assurance process involves extensively

check every part of the web site to ensure that the features are functional and that the elements

display properly.

Maintenance - We also provide Maintenance services after the launch of our client sites if

required. Our Maintenance services include the continuous upgrade and update of the site as well

as the monitoring of the site. This ensures that our client sites can continually grow and evolve

with the latest technology. Most of our PHP projects involve Annual Maintenance where we
