Sub: Filling up of the posts in the National Wage Boards for Working Journalistsand other Newspaper Employees under the Ministry of Labour andEmployment.

*****Sir,I am directed to say that the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of

India, have constituted two National Wage Boards, one for the Working Journalists andthe other for Non – Journalist Newspaper Employees under the Working Journalists andother Newspaper Employees (conditions of Service) and Miscellaneous ProvisionsAct,1955, to fix/revise the rates of wages of Working Journalists and other NewspaperEmployees, for a period of three years with effect from 24.05.2007 i.e the date of theirconstitution. The Wage Board has its office at EPFO Complex, Sector-23, Dwarka,New Delhi-110075.

The following posts which could not be filled up vide this Ministry’s letters of

even number dated 23.07.2007 and 07.08.2007 are now proposed to be filled up ondeputation/ re-employment of retired persons/ contract basis as per suitability ofcandidates concerned. Those who have already applied in response to the saidadvertisements, need not apply again.

Requisite qualification and experience required for each post are given atAnnexure I. Pro-forma for submission of Bio-data is given at Annexure-II. Both theannexure are available on the website: www.labour.nic.in

The sponsoring authorities and prospective applicants may please note thefollowing conditions:

(i) The persons having previous experience in the Ministry of Labour &Employment/State Labour Departments/Wage Boards etc., would begiven due preference.

(ii) It may, however, be noted that the employees joining the Wage Boardswould not be entitled to allotment of Government accommodation.However, HRA in lieu of accommodation will be given to the eligiblepersons as per Rules.

(iii) The applicants who volunteer for the posts will not be permitted towithdraw their names subsequently.

(iv) The terms of the selected candidates on deputation will be governed bythe terms and conditions contained in the Department of Personnel andTraining OM No. 2/29/91-Estt (Pay II) dated 05.01.1994 as amended fromtime to time.

(v) The candidates, if appointed, on contract basis or re-employment basiswould get consolidated remuneration as per Government of IndiaRules/Regulations as applicable.

4. The applications of eligible candidates, who are desirous of being considered forappointment to the above mentioned posts and can be spared immediately, mayplease be forwarded to the undersigned, Room No. 111, Shram Shakti Bhawan, NewDelhi – 110 001 within 20 days i.e. by 17 th December, 2007 . The applications shouldclearly indicate the service particulars, experience, educational qualifications, etc., in theprescribed pro-forma given at Annexure-II.

1. The up-to-date CR Dossiers of last Five years of the applicants along withvigilance/disciplinary /Cadre clearance for deputation cases only may also beforwarded. The applications received directly or without the relevant CR Dossiers insuch cases will NOT be entertained. The information furnished in the bio data may alsobe certified by the forwarding authority in the case of applications for appointment ondeputation basis.

Essential Qualification: -Degree of recognized University with Economics,Statistics, Mathematics, Sociology, Social Work orCommerce as one of the subject.

Desirable Qualification: -Experience in Socio-economic investigations, tabulationsand Report Writing.

2. Name of the post - Economic Officer/Investigator Grade -I

Number of Posts - Two


Eligibility - Officers holding analogous post or officers having 5 years

regular service in the Pay Scale of Rs.5000-8000/-

Essential Qualification - University degree with statistics, Mathematics, Economics,Sociology or Commerce as one of the subject.

Desirable Qualification - Experience, in Socio-economic investigations, tabulationsand writing of reports.

3. Name of the post - P.S. to Assessor


Scale of Pay - Rs. 6500-10500/-



Eligibility - Officer holding analogous post or regular Stenographers ofGrade ‘C’ of CSSS having not less than 5 years of regular service in the grade.

4. Name of the post - Stenographer Grade ‘C’



Eligibility - Regular Stenographers of Grade ‘C’ of CSSS or Grade ‘D’Stenographers having not less than 8 Years of regularservice in the grade.
