The new streamlined app from Facebook focuses on giving users in locations with with
slow connectivity a reliable Facebook experience when bandwidth is at a minimum. The
app reduces the Facebook experience to the essentials–News Feed, status updates, photos
and notifications–and at only 1 MB, it will update and load faster. Facebook Lite was
released to parts of Asia last week, and will be arriving in Latin America, Africa, and Europe
in the coming weeks.

capturing images on their mobile devices, the app's developers are still "excited about how
Web Profiles will make it easier to browse and share content on the web for all our users.”
