GUIDELINES
The major goal of using Social Media Strategy is not
merely to increase the number of Likes.
A large Fan Community is only really important if the
company is a brand name and needs to endorse its
popularity through the Likes.
A small but relevant and close knitted, active, and
meaningful community (who can spread the awareness) is
the key to Social Media Strategies and promotions.
SERVICES/PRODUCTS
Starting with GOOGLE
Its Google long term plan to combine Google Places
and Google Plus with Google Search Engine.
First, one needs to set up a Google Account and then
fill up the Google Profile page.
Set up a Google Places Profile for Business along with
Google Plus Profile.
Long term interest vested with these Listings.
Use keywords, simple, short , meaningful descriptions, and basic
sentences for filling up the details.
To make it come up within Search Engine results optimize the
Search Engine Results.
Fill in all the fields in the Google Places and get as much info on
them like Timing, Phone number (get it verified), Vouchers, and area
of Service. Uploaded videos and photos are loved much by Google.
People may want to know anything.
Get Your Business listed on True Local, Yahoo 7 along with Google.
.The more the listings the better result in search engine results and
wider outreach
Keep the Business name short and simple and use a Business Logo
if applicable.
Read terms and conditions for the concerned Listings and do not breach
them as you may be blocked or disabled for trivial mistakes.
Getting ahead with Facebook Business Pages:
Facebook Places (similar to Google Places); Fill in the profile and link it to a
personal FB account.
Advantages: People can share where they have checked in, Connect, and
Find Local Deals. More powerful than Google places.
Have a company website other than Google and Facebook so that you can fall
back on it, in case something does not work due to Google’s and FB’s
changing policies and rules.
If you already have an existing Fan page with a different theme do not try to
merge it with the Business Page as it is difficult to connect to the Fans from
two different backgrounds. It should never be done.
Get fresh content on these Social Media Pages as often as possible.
If you are too busy with the Business then update after
every 14 days/ fortnight.
Linked In Basics:
Create a Linked In profile as a personal account and
then create a Company Profile linked to it.
Link Facebook Page, Linked In, Twitter and Blogger
Profile to each other so that they get updated
simultaneously thus saving time.
True Local Advantage:
TrueLocal.com.au is another very good website for word
of mouth promotions. List your Business on the website.
True Local Business Listings reflect on Google Search
Engine Results so if some criteria or key word on Google
Search fails, there is True Local to back it up.
Blogging – The evergreen captivating media for Social
Media users.
Put up Blogs covering relevant issues, concerns,
knowledgeable information to connect to your clients.
Apart from Google Blogger, Wordpress is a good blogging
website as it has plugins which are downloadable on mobiles.
Google Blogger is a good website as it has integration with
the Google Search Engine.
Connect Wordpress and Blogger to each other as well as to the
other Social Media Pages to update simultaneously.
Tie the Social Media promotions to Business deals which is
exclusively for the Social Media followers only.
This makes the followers feel privileged because of the
exclusivity to deals that they can access by following the
Business Pages.
For example, Ask them to post their photos on the wall page
with a theme relevant to the Business. The post with the highest
number of Likes will win. For this the followers have to bring in
their friends to Like their post. This will promote the Business to
different classes in society.
INFERENCE
The webinar was very educative and quite interactive as we
could put up questions to the Social Media Expert who gave
relevant and practical answers which we can actually apply
for the Businesses.
As a compliment to the dutiful attendance Webcentral
provided the viewers like us, a Free Web market analysis and
report service. I am expecting their report within few weeks.
The report will guide us to fill the gap we have in our
Online Marketing strategies.
