• A picture is worth a thousand words• Tell the world who you are and what you do• What are you doing now?• Fill in all website links, twitter and customize your link• Your summary allows 2,000 characters…..use them• Just like a resume, keywords are key• Get recommended…..let others talk about you• Ask and you shall receive• Personalize your connection invites. Don’t use the default

phrasing.• Join groups (i.e. Star Candidate For Hire)• Participate in discussions and answer questions• Don’t hide your connections without good reason• Connect not just because you know the person but because of

who they know as well• Use what you learn (i.e. interests, schools etc.)

TwitterFirst Some Definitions…

• Tweet: A text based post from you limited to 140 characters• Followers: People who are subscribed to your updates are fondly

known as tweeps or tweeple• Following: The act of following people by subscribing to their

updates or tweets• @: Use this when you are referring to a person in your updates. You

can prefix their username with @ to display their Twitter account in the update. (i.e. @LouBonica)

• Direct Message (D): Sending a direct message to your followers• Re-Tweet (RT): Used to quote a tweet to everyone who is following

you• Hash (#): When you want to tell something specific about some

issue or subject, you can prefix your subject with #• #in or #LI: Will cause your tweet to appear as your LinkedIn status• Check twitter logo in LinkedIn to have you status appear as a tweet
