Social Media & Digital Campaign Toolkit Zero emissions|omissions is a campaign led by a coalition of NGOs, CSOs, and volunteers from across the continent of Africa. We are calling on the African Development Bank (AfDB) to be 100% transparent, and to switch to 100% renewable energy in the Bank’s power lending portfolios. All African countries have endorsed the Paris Climate Agreement and the goal to limit global temperature increase to 1.5ºC above pre-industrial levels. In accordance with international reports, most notable the recent report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), African countries are among the most vulnerable countries to climate change. The time to take climate action for Africa is now – join us and add your voice to this movement.

Social Media & Digital Campaign Toolkit

Zero emissions|omissions is a campaign led by a coalition of NGOs, CSOs, and volunteers from across the continent

All African countries have endorsed the Paris Climate Agreement and the goal to limit global temperature increase

to 1.5ºC above pre-industrial levels. In accordance with international reports, most notable the recent report by

to climate change.

The time to take climate action for Africa is now – join us and add your voice to this movement.

Here is some suggested text, which you can use to e-mail your network to ask them to sign the e-petition:

Dear ___________

The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) is a multilateral development finance institution, whose mission is to fight poverty and improve living conditions in Africa. The Bank has committed to investing $12bn in the energy sector in Africa, but have confirmed that - although renewable energy will be prioritised - fossil fuels remain a part of the overall energy mix.

All African countries have endorsed the Paris Climate Agreement and the goal to limit global temperature increase to 1.5ºC above pre-industrial levels, and the recently released Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report warns that there are a mere 11 years left to stop global warming in its tracks.

Join me in calling on the AfDB to commit to investing in 100% renewable energy in the Bank’s power lending portfolio, and to 100% transparency by signing this petition: http://bit.ly/ZeroPetition

Thanks for your valuable contribution to the future of our earth.

Kind regards,
