Photo Credit: Gregory Partanio/ Manhattan Society.com YOUTH AMERICA GRAND PRIX GALA 2015 On April 16, 2015 YAGP, the largest international dance net- work and student ballet scholarship audition – presented its annual “Stars of Today Meet the Stars of Tomorrow” Gala, at Lincoln Center. The Gala, sponsored by Bulgari, featured finalists of the ballet schol- arship auditions perform- ing alongside today’s most celebrated ballet dancers. Veronica Bulgari, said "Bul- gari is thrilled to support YAGP and, through them, so many talented young art- ists." Following the perfor- mance guests enjoyed din- ner and dancing at the David H. Koch Theater, chaired by Amy Astley. Astley noted "I am honored and proud to have been part of the impor- tant work of YAGP in nur- turing and supporting the next generation of dance talent.” Notable guests included Woody Allen, Jared Angle, Hailey Baldwin, Hamish Bowles, Sergei Filin, Heather Georges, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Gregory, David Hall- berg, David Koch, Mr. and Mrs. Rich- ard LeFrak, Henry Leutwyler, Kamie Lightburn, Christina Lyon, B. Michael, Elyse Newhouse, Jean Shafiroff and Bella Thorne. Photo Credit: Patrick McMullan Company PATRICIA UNDERWOOD’S BOOK LAUNCH: THE WAY YOU WEAR YOUR HAT On April 28th, Ralph Lauren hosted a celebration of Patri- cia Underwood’s 40 years of millinery and the publication of SOCIETY her new book, The Way You Wear Your Hat (Riz- zoli). This year, Patricia Un- derwood marks 40 years of contributing to the fashion industry as a thor- oughly modern milliner. Rizzoli honors her anni- versary with a new book, PATRICIA UNDER- WOOD: The Way You Wear Your Hat, featuring images from the designer’s own archive, as well as editorial work from some of the world’s greatest fashion pho- tographers, including Richard Avedon, Horst, Irving Penn, Barry Lategan, Annie Leibovitz and Bruce Weber, and from the archives of Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar. Ms. Un- derwood shares her work for stage and screen, her personal favorite hats and her inspirations— from art, cinema, historical peri- ods and nature. Patricia Underwood has produced collections for designers including Ralph Lauren, Oscar de la Ren- ta, Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan and Calvin Klein, among others. She has also created under her own name beau- tiful, hand-made understated cloches, top hats, visors, wide- brimmed hats, berets, fedoras, turbans, trilbies, sun hats, and more. Guests attended included Mr. Lauren as well as co- authors Jeffrey Banks and Doria de La Cha- pelle, and guests arrived wearing their own Patricia Underwood hats in- cluding Ron Chere- skin, Cece Cord, Rita Cosby, Louis Dell’Olio, Mark Gilbertson, Tom Gold, Stan Her- man, William Ivey Long, Patricia Kluge, Mary McFad- den, b. UNVEILING EL MUSEO’S GALA 2015 On April 7th, 2015 over 100 guests gathered to celebrate El Museo del Barrio's upcoming Gala and meet Patricia Un-derwood, the official Gala Milliner, where guests were able to de-sign their gala veils and view and purchase a se-lection of designs. The gala kick off party was held at the home of El Museo's Gala Chairs, Maria Eugenia Maury and William Haseltine.

14 at The Plaza Hotel has a cinematic theme, inspired by the muse-um's current exhibition UNDER THE MEXI-CAN SKY: Gabriel Figueroa - Art and Film, celebrating the legacy of the prolific Mexican cinematogra-pher Gabriel Figueroa. Ladies are asked to dress in black and white with gloves and veils.

PUBLICOLOR’S GALA On April 9th, 2015, Publicolor honored the visionary contem-porary gallerist Paula Cooper at their annual Stir, Splatter + Roll gala. The evening, emceed by Mark Mitten, included

painting alongside some of our city's leading architects, artists and designers, a silent auction of one-of-a-kind totes created by leading de-signers, and a live auction all held at Martin Luther King, Jr. High School (122 Amster-dam Avenue, New York City) with cocktails beginning at 6:00 PM and the dinner and program beginning at 7:30 PM.

All proceeds went toward Publicolor’s mission to engage dis-connected students in their education, while teaching them strong and transferable work habits so they are prepared to be productive in both college and career. Gala Co-Chairs were: Jeffrey Banks, Sascha Bauer, Gene and Barbara Kohn, Michael Kors, Elissa and GreatNeck Richman, and Publicolor’s Founder+President Ruth Lande Shuman.
