    Social Computing Guidelines

Tofoster participation that reflects our company values, we offer the following official guidelines as aresource for _______ staff involved in our social media efforts. All who contribute to social media onbehalf of ___ are expected to understand and to follow these guidelines.

    We acknowledge the ongoing developments in social media and will update our guidelines as newtechnologies and tools require.

    Defining Social Media

    Broadly defined social media includes a family of Interactive Communication Technologies (ICT) whichallow users to interact with each other in some way by sharing information (personal and public), files,images, and videos. Social media platforms include blogs, wikis, communities or social networks,message boards, content sharing websites, social bookmarking sites, and text messaging.

    Listening

    By its nature, social media facilities an ongoing conversation, a continuos exchange of information andmedia. ___________ sees an opportunity to listen and learn more about our market, our industry, ourcustomers, as well as our brand perception in the market. We acknowledge there is an opportunity forpassive listening and collection of relevant information as well as an opportunity for active two-wayresearch via social media platforms.

    Social Media Guidelines

    Social media can be an asset to our whole company if we exercise personal responsibility. A consistapproach to the way we all engage in social media helps build trust between us and clients, suppliers,and the general public who also engage in social media. With this goal of building trust in mind, wevedeveloped guidelines that should encourage responsible communication without hindering open andfree participation. Please use the following guidelines to direct your engagement in all ___________related engagement with social media platforms.

    1. Take Responsibility - You are personally responsible for your activity and content in various

    social media platforms.

    2. Be Who You Are - Write in your own voice and from your own perspective based on yourposition, expertise and personality.     8. Be Professional - The same professional conduct expected in the workplace is expectedonline. Avoid all ethnic slurs, personal insults, obscenity, or sexual references. Remember yourassociation with ___________ and make sure your content, comments and profile informationdo not conflict with the goals and image of ___________ .

    9. Share Expert Information - You can add value to the social media conversation by providingexpert knowledge on a given subject. Sometimes your expert knowledge may derive fromanother expert. Be willing to reference and link to their websites when possible.

    12.Pause Before Publishing - When you post content or comments be sure to pause beforepublishing and double check what you wrote. Make sure your grammar is good, words arespelled correctly, your information is accurate, and your attitude is right.

    13.Maintain Your Responsibilities - Your participation in social media should not interfere withyour day to day responsibilities.
