Social change can best be achieved by revolution Centuries ago, our ancestors had fought for their rights, civil liberties and ideals which they cherished. This world that we know of would not exist if there were no revolutions and rebellions in human history. However, is it always necessary, or even of any value, to engage ourselves into violent bloodshed, or is it possible to let the change come naturally and slowly? To begin with, as long as there are humans on Earth, there will be people who are not content with the way society works. It is a well known fact that we do not share the same views on life and values, therefore rebellions, good or bad, are unavoidable. Moreover, we know about people by the name of Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King etc. who wanted to make this world a better place for everyone and deliberate critical groups from discrimination. If no such great people tried to make a difference, who knows how long it would take us to reach the stage we are in. On the other hand, plenty of people seem to forget the uglier, bloodier side of revolutions. As well as those previously mentioned, there have been some other major leaders who made a difference, such as Joseph Stalin, Benito Mussolini and Adolf Hitler. Unfortunately, their deeds were not beneficial for humanity and resulted in millions of unnecessary victims. Additionally, revolution usually forces people to a rapid change without the time to adjust to the new situation. That might be an even worse decision than to maintain the “status quo”, as it can cause the society to collapse. To conclude, it is a human right to rise against injustice and fight to make a change. But there are people who will take advantage of it in this imperfect world. That is why many things should be taken into account before taking drastic measures. Another advisable option is putting evolution before revolution and seeing if the matter can be solved gradually in order to keep stability in society.
