Required Placement Tests in Reading, Writing and Math○ Some programs require certain test scores to enroll

Make sure to take classes senior year to help with these skills○ 4th year of Math or Science○ Electives that will help you in these areas

Senior Electives All 12th graders will be required to take 6 classes each

semester – forecast accordingly! Rest of your schedule is electives:

Can include:○ Extra core classes or World Language○ Credit Recovery○ AVID○ Early release/Late Start

Be realistic – consider your overall loadMultiple AP classes?Extracurricular activities or a job?

It is unlikely that we will have Study Hall – plan your other courses accordingly

Senior Electives

Ask yourself: Do I need Credit Recovery?Credit Recovery and Summer School gives

you an “S” and the credit, but not a letter grade○ An “S” counts towards graduation and is

accepted at community colleges○ If you need a letter grade for college purposes

or to help your GPA, you can retake the course or take an online course

○ Talk to your counselor for more information

Spanish Literacy 2 (full-year course)For students who speak Spanish fluently at

home, but struggle with Spanish reading and writing skills

Can take the STAMP (proficiency) test and earn additional Spanish credits

Not appropriate for students who only speak Spanish at a beginning or early intermediate level

Neither Late Start nor Early Release are guaranteedIf there is a class you need or want, and it is

offered 4th period, plan to have a 4th period class.

Schedule changes will NOT be honored for a work schedule or to accommodate early release/late arrival

Must have parent signatures for early release, late arrival

Reminders Bring the folder and your forecasting form to turn in

You will meet with your counselor to review individually during English○ If you have English on an A day: Monday, March 6th ○ If you have English on a B day: Tuesday, March 7th

○ Ask us questions at this time; you will not get an individual appointment before then

Parent Signature is needed on your form If you forget your form, you will have to fill out one on-the-spot

You will enter your choices into your Student VUE account in History classes Monday/Tuesday, March 13th and 14th

If you have an IEP or are in the ELL program, your case manager will review your forecasting form with you

Final date for forecasting changes: Friday, April 14th
