Packed Lunch In keeping with our drive to
encourage our children to lead a healthy lifestyle, both now and when they are older, we have listed below
an example of a healthy packed lunch. A sandwich made with
wholemeal bread, an apple, Greek yoghurt and a small treat. We ask
that parents provide only one small treat per day. This should not include any fizzy or sugary drinks. In addition, please do not give any nuts (including peanut butter) within a packed lunch to safeguard children with allergies
throughout the school.
Water Bottles Please be reminded that children are allowed to
bring their water bottles to school everyday!

STEM STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and
Mathematics and is something that we, at The Bridges
Federation, feel passionate about teaching the children. All
children in KS1 and KS2 will be allowed to enter the challenge.
All they have to do is answer the weekly question in the most
creative and imaginative way possible.
What would happen in the world if there were no
numbers? The winners are:
Emily Tower Bridge
Manna Centre
On Tuesday 3rd December, some of the school leaders from Snowsfields and Tower Bridge visited the Manna Centre to donate bags of groceries and Christmas crackers. The organisers of the centre were thrilled with the children’s generosity.
‘We gave away our Christmas crackers and some bags of food. The manager explained to us about what they do at the Manna Centre; they do jobs for the homeless for free.’
‘Going to the Manna society has encouraged me to give to people less fortunate than me.’
‘Now I have visited the Manna society, I realised how important it is to give to others.’
‘I felt proud of our schools and myself because we gave to the homeless.’
‘I gave to people less fortunate and to see how grateful they were made me so happy. ‘

Elected Parent Governors
As a parent of Nicole in Year 2, I am honoured to become a parent governor at Tower Bridge Primary
School. I want to fulfil this role for the following three reasons.
Firstly, I believe that any school would perform well by accurately answering to the needs of all the
children if parents, teachers and children proactively cooperate to raise the standard of the school. The
key element in this reason is the involvement of the parents in the school life. I wish to involve more
parents in order to raise the school standards. Secondly, we need to unite more our children by
teaching them to help each other. Thirdly, I wish our children to learn to be more resilient. We need
to organise programmes or events that will teach our children to be aware of the risks of being
approached by individuals who are not law abiding and could force, influence or use them to do bad
things. In addition to these reasons, I know most of the children’s parents in this school and I would be pleased to bring to them
any positive project the school wishes to undertake. I am thrilled to be representing my fellow parents and I am looking forward
to working with the executive head and the rest of the leadership team at the Bridges Federation.
I would like to stand again to be parent governor at Snowsfields Primary School.
Having held the role for the past two years, I would like to carry on working with the head teacher, leadership team and teachers to help continue raising the school's high standards, in particular
regarding the curriculum.
I'd like to build on my experience and training so far to ensure the school continues to innovate, and pupils are put first, especially following the addition of a third school
into the federation.
We are really pleased to inform you that Matthew Parsons, Eléa and Theo’s father
has been appointed as our new parent governor for Snowsfields Primary. As
Matthew was the only parent nominated by the deadline, he has been elected
with immediate effect. We are sure, you will all join us in welcoming him back on our
governing body and wishing him all the best for his new term as a parent governor!
We are really pleased to inform you that William Houngbo Nicole’s father has been
appointed as our new parent governor for Tower Bridge Primary. As William was
the only parent nominated by the deadline, he has been elected with immediate effect.
We are sure, you will all join us in welcoming him on our governing body and wishing
him all the best for his first term as a parent governor!
