Red Ribbon Week Dress Up Days October 22nd – October 26th

Monday 10/22/18 - “Crazy about being Drug Free”- Crazy hair

day. Tuesday10/23/18 – “Too cool for drugs” – Wear your sunglasses.

Wednesday10/24/18 –“Hats off to you for being Drug Free”-

Wear your favorite hat. Thursday– 10/25/18 -“Wild about being drug free”- Dress like an

animal. Friday-10/26/18 -“Disguise yourself from Drugs”- Camo dress up

If you would like to purchase a shirt for your student; they are on sale for $10. Mrs. Lamb will be selling shirts before school and during school at break, in room 29. Food Service: Breakfast Schedules: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday – 7:15 – 8:00 am Wednesday – 8:15 – 9:00 am SORRY! NO FOOD WILL BE SERVED AFTER THESE TIMES. * If unable to make these times, ensure your child has breakfast at home.

Office Message: Remember: ONLY contacts that are listed on the emergency card will be able to pick up students early NO EXCEPTIONS are made. Please make sure that your child knows how he/she will be getting home or if he/she will be staying for the after school program. If changes need to be made on emergency card or students’ transportation please come in the office or send a note signed by a parent/guardian. CHANGES WILL NOT BE MADE OVER THE PHONE FOR YOUR CHILDS SAFETY. Lastly, birthdays are celebrated the last 10 minutes of class. You are only allowed to bring 1 ITEM AND IT MUST BE STORE BOUGHT. Please confirm with your students teacher before coming in.

Nurse’s Desk: Reminder: Please make sure your child is eating a good, healthy breakfast before school to avoid a trip to the nurse’s office. Also, class head checks for head lice are done regularly.

What bullying is:

1. Verbal – targeted and on-going

2. Social – spreading rumors and telling others not to

be a child’s friend

3. Physical – on-going hitting and pushing

4. Cyber – creating rumors on the internet about

another child

What bullying is not:

1. Telling another child they don’t want to play with

them

2. Telling another child they don’t like them - once

3. Accidentally hurting another child

4. Being bossy to other children

What can we do:

Parents, respond quickly and talk with your child about

what bullying is and isn’t. Give your child these ideas to

deal with another student:

1. Walk away

2. Tell the child to STOP bullying

3. If the behavior doesn’t stop tell an adult

1. Verbal – dirigido y sigue pasando

2. Social – difundir rumores y decirle a otros que no

sean amigos de un niño

3. Física – sigue golpeando y empujando

4. Ciber – hacen rumores en el Internet sobre otro

niño

Lo que no es intimidación (Bullying)

1. Diciéndole a otro niño que no quiere jugar con ellos

2. Diciéndole a otro niño que no les gusta - una ves

3. Lastimar accidentalmente a otro niño

4. Ser mandón a otros niños

Lo que podemos hacer:

Padres, respondan rápidamente y hablen con su hijo

acerca de lo que es y no es la intimidación. Déle a su hijo

estas ideas para tratar con otro estudiante:

1. Alejarse

2. Dígale al niño que deje de intimidar

3. Si el comportamiento no para dile a un adulto
