Cutting and Sewing Directions

From the batting cut the following:

Body - 15” x 11“ rectangle Front band - 8” x 3“ rectangle Arms - 11” x 4“ rectangle Mu� - 4” square Bottom band - 13“ x 2-1/2” rectangle Hat - 13“ x 6-1/2” rectangle Scarf - 14” x 4” rectangle

All seams are 1/2” unless otherwise indicated.

Fold the 11” x 15” rectangle in half along the 15” side. Sew theside seam.

Using a double strand of thread, sew a loose running stitch 1/2” from the top edge around the entire circumference of the top.

Pull the thread to gather the top together. Wrap the ends of the thread around the gather and tie o�.

Turn right side out.

Sew another loose running stitch 3” down from the �rst gather. Do not gather yet.

Stu� the head with Perfect Loft™. Pull the gathers up tight and tie o� threads.

For the front band, fold the rectangle into thirds along the 8” length as shown. Stitch the two ends closed.

Insert the empty can into the bottom of the body with the open end at the bottom and set aside.

Handstitch one short end of the front band to the neck of the Snow Chick and the other short end to the bottom of the body as shown. Make sure the long open edge faces the body of the Snow Chick.

Sew another running stitch 1-1/2” from the bottom of the can.

Pull the running stitch together.

Fold the ends of the batting inside the can.

For the mu�, fold the square in half. Stitch the side using a 1/2” seam allowance. Turn right side out.

For the arms, fold the rectangle in half along the long side. Stitch the seam and turn right side out. Wrap the mu� around the arms in the center and handstitch the ends as shown.

For the bottom band, wrap the band around the bottom of the body. Pin to get the placement for the seam. Stitch a line along the pin placement.

Handstitch the ends of the arms to the neck on the sides of the front band. Bend the arms into a curve while placing the arms.

Fold the band in half and slide onto the bottom of the body. Secure with a few handstitches.

For the hat, fold the rectangle in half on the 13” side. Stitch the side seam using a 1/2” seam allowance. Turn right side out. Using a double strand of thread, sew a running stitch 1/2” from the top. Pull threads to gather. Fold the bottom of the hat up 1/2” twice. Secure onto the head with a few stitches.

Create the face and embellish as desired. Embellishments may be sewn or glued on.

Fold the scarf in half along the long side and tie around the neck.
