John joined the military right after high school and then went on to get his degree in business at Boise State University. While finishing his degree he partnered with his father-in-law and they started building spec homes. Close to hitting his 20 years as a builder he started building in 1998. His first home was a 1,600 sf, 3-bedroom 2-bath home in the Middlecreek subdivision.

In 2001 both John and his wife Kristie quit their jobs and began working FT building together. in 2005 he built a home for his father who was a disabled Veteran. then in 2006 he served his first year as the SRVBCA president, john was one of the lucky builders who got to serve more than once as the SRVBCA president.

During the downturn he became the first CAPS, Certified Aging in Place builder in Idaho and started putting on seminars about the process and how it benefits people.

John also oversees the design and construction for the the veterans projects for 208Cares. 208Cares is currently working on a Non-Profit home for a 28 yealr old veteran who was injured while serving in Iraq.

In the Spring of 2017 John Cotner received the IBCA Builder of the year award.

Larry started in the industry as an Electrician in 1976 and by 1978 he opened his own electric business "4 Star Electric".

in 1985 he became a firefighter thru 2011. In between being a firefighter he started building houses in 1989 and in the early 1990's he was installed as a SRVBCA president.

Larry is primarily a custom homebuilder and he works in remodeling as well. This year was his third consecutive year as a Parade of Homes Builder, he enjoys building. his goal is to have a house in the ground at all times because that is when he gets the most interest.

The Parade of Homes was his primary reason that he joined the BCA and to rejoin was because of the support in the industry. He believes in the association and it 's members and as a group we are a strong voice. Most of his subs have been with him for years and they both know what to expect from each other.

When asked where he gets his ideas for his floor plans, Larry replied "I reach out to my clients and build the home as if he was moving into it himself ". He says he will only build spec homes for the Parade because he likes to use his own vision.
