SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) is a standardized system used to send and receive emails through a

mail server. As of the 180808 Firmware, the eSAM and Ultra eSAM are now capable of sending messages using

SMTP if an alarm or event is triggered on the modem.

This guide will explain how to set up SMTP on the eSAM.

1. Open the ‘Applications > SMTP’ menu

2. Select the Authorization method required by your SMTP server. For office365, this is STARTLS.

3. Enter the SMTP server domain, and the port used. For office365, ‘smtp.office365.com’ and port 25 and required.

4. Enter the username required to connect to the SMTP server (this is your email address)

5. Enter the password for your email.

6. Press save.

7. Open the ‘Applications > ALARM’ menu

8. Select the situations in which you would like the eSAM to send an email (please note that you will also be sent an

email if the DIDO GPIO application is triggered)

9. Save your settings
