This has reference to submission o f Compliance towards observations made by the Regional Officer MoEF; Nagpur during the site visit conducted on 09.04.2016 to Smruthi Organics Ltd. Plot No. A-27, MIDC Chincholi, Tab: Mohol, Dist.Solapur.

Accordingly, we are submitting the point wise compliance as follows,

Being a chemical industry, SOL have not implemented the Rainwater harvesting system.

W ater consumption is 6.4 m3/day more than prescribed in EC.

SOL have been grant EC, in 2002 and expansion in year 2008. Fresh water consumption in EC o f year 2002 is 20 CMD and that o f 2008 is 195 CMD. Therefore, all together SOL has perm ission o f 215 CMD in EC granted. During visit o f R.O., only EC of 2008 was seen wherein water permission is 195.10 against actual consumption o f 201.5 CMD.

Therein, monitoring o f AAQM, Stack, Noise, and Effluent was done on six monthly basis. Subsequent, to visit o f R.O. and as per his direction the frequency o f monitoring is done on quarterly basis.Refer Annexure 11 for Copy o f latest Stack monitoring reports and ambient air quality monitoring reports.

A. Stack Height based on SO2 from HSD as a fuel in TFH :

(Ref.:CPCB;ComprehensiveIndustryDocumentSeries:COINDS/18/1984-85& MPCB guidelines)

1. A TFH of capacity 2 Lakh Kcal / Hr shall be provided in the industry.

2. Formula for Stack Height calculations,

H= 14 (Q) 0.3

Where, Q= Discharge of SO2 expressed in Kg/Hr.

3. Fuel Used : HSD

4. Fuel Consumption: 40 lit / Hr,

5. Density of HSD is 0.8 MT/M3,

6. 40 liters corresponds to 0.032 MT, i.e. 32 Kg.

7. Sulphur content of the HSD – 1.0 %

8. Sulphur Di-oxide (SO2) released after coal burning- 2.0%

9. Hence, Total SO2 emissions rate in Kg / Hr will be 2.0% of above fuel consumption i.e.

2.0% of 32 Kg / Hr.

Thus, SO2 emissions = 0.64 Kg / Hr 10. Required Height of Stack is,

H = 14 (Q) 0.3

= 14 X (0.64)0.3

= 14 X 0.874

= 12.24 M,

Say 13 M
