Earlier this month, we have distributed flyers to each class for the competitions and we

have gotten great reception from the students. The theme for this month is

FRIENDSHIP. We hope all of you will enjoy reading it.

One smile can start

a friendship,

: WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT FR IEN DSH I P?

Friendship is a relationship of mutual affection between two or more

people. Friendship is a stronger form of interpersonal bond than an

association. Friendship has been studied in academic fields such as

sociology, social psychology, anthropology, and philosophy.

ENGLISH NEWS

THURSDAY,14 JAN –A group of SMKAPians went to

UNITEN to watch what they described as a “great theatre”. Based on our interview,

they said that the theatre was a fascinating experience. The theme of theatre is

Black and White while the concept of the theatre is Epic and Dramatic and true to

its name, epic and dramatic it was!

Four groups joined the competition which are Alla Fonte, Majestic, Myste-

rious and De Chaplin but Alla Fonte was the only one who successfully attracted

judges’ interest. Our interviewees revealed that it is because there was a character

named Stella who was acted by a man but the actor did it very well and made the

huge hall filled with laughter. “I did not feel sleepy at all because the theatre was

really fun especially when it comes to the musical part, ”said one of them.

Two students from our school were lucky because they won gifts from a lucky draw there. From the theatre, now they realise that

riendship is very important in our life as a human beings. Last but not least , they really hope that SMKAP will hold a similar theatre compe-

ition and any other interesting activities.

SHORT STORY

WORLD’S GRE TEST TRE SURE

With an empty mind, I contin-

ued my walk along a sparkling river. I

could barely hear any voices calling for

me. But, I kept walking. Without know-

ing my true destination.

* * * *

When I woke up, I found that I

was lying on my bed. “What’s with that

dream?” I thought to myself. Suddenly,

I could hear someone enter my room

and I clearly saw my friend, Anna. She

stood there, not able to come into my

room. Her face was so pale and due to

her red eyes. I assumed that maybe she

was crying. “Anna! Are you okay?” I

asked. But there was no answer. After

a few seconds, I saw her eyes became

teary again and she hurriedly walked

away without closing the door.

* * * *

I tried to find my friend but

she was nowhere to be seen so I made

sure to find her later. When I realised, I

was already standing in front of my

house. The scenery of my university

really made me shocked. My univer-

sity, which was known for its happy

and joy students, today all of them

were spreading a gloomy atmosphere

and for no reason, my eyes became

teary. Suddenly, “Students! The time

has come!” because of the announce-

ment, all of the students were heading

somewhere quickly.”Where are you

going? Someone tell me what is hap-

pening!” I shouted to the crowd but

there was no answer. “Why are all of

them ignoring me?” I muttered. I don’t

know why, but as a the time passed,

my head became dizzier without know-

ing I was slowly fading.

“What happened to me? Help

me!” Without knowing anything, I hur-

riedly ran towards my house to ask for

my friend’s help. I tried to open the

door but I couldn’t feel it. And, I finally

understood. I know the reason of the

gloomy atmosphere, the reason why

Anna was crying. The puzzled had

pieced together. I realised that I’m al-

ready dead.

Now, my head was throbbing

in pain. I could see a picture of myself

running across the road before getting

knocked by a car. I saw my own body

lying motionless on the road. At that

time, I saw Anna running toward my

unconscious body, begging for help. I

cried and I tried to hold her, but I

know that I can’t, anymore. And my

world became pitch dark.

* * * *

My body was shaking in fearwhen I first open my eyes. This place is

a cemetery. I saw many people includ-

ing Anna, crying, because of my death.

The words “Forgive me” was being re-

peated by her. At that time, I didn’t

know why but I felt very happy to have

them around me. I felt very thankful to

be able to meet them.”Thank you and

it was not your fault, Anna. Don’t be

sad, my friend.”I slowly said. My heart

ached when I saw Anna putting a silver

star-shaped necklace on my

grave.”Sorry for taking a long time to

find it. I will miss you, Sarah and please

forgive me” said Anna and she walked

away with in tears. My tears ran down

my cheeks and I really wished that I

can hug her for one more time.” I will

miss you!” I murmured.

SARAH: Anna! Did you see my neck

lace?

ANNA : Your necklace...the broken

necklace?

SARAH: That’s right! The star-shaped

necklace. Have you ever seen

it?

ANNA : ... I had thrown it away along

with the garbage...I’m sorry,

Sarah.

SARAH: You threw it?

ANNA : Sarah !!!

With that, I quickly headed

outside. I could barely see a pile of gar-

bage across the road. With that, I hur-

riedly ran across the road. My mind

was too occupied to realise that a

speeding car was heading toward me.

We received only a few entries this time around but of them all, this essay from NUR SYAHIRA BT MOHD BIDU won us over.

FRIEN SHIP

I was happy,

When I am with you,

When I feel wrong,

You were there,

To calm me.

I just want to be good,

Only for you my best friend,

Let me show you,

How I am proud,

To be your friend.

I know you’re,

Bored of getting,

An ear with,

Nobody to care,

So just grab me,

To leave this painful situation,

My friend,

I will help you,

As long as I could.

I will take care of you,

As my sister,

You’re everything to me,

That I see,

You make my life,

Full of happiness,

My heart is getting cold,

Nobody wants to cheer me up,

If I was sad.
