1 Configuration Guide: SAP Fiori for SAPSolution Manager
SAP Solution Manager uses a combination of SAP Fiori applications and other types of SAP Solution Manager
applications to provide users with access to SAP Solution Manager processes. Users access these applications
from the SAP Fiori launchpad. SAP Solution Manager has its own launchpad. Before you can use this, you must
install, set up, and configure the SAP Solution Manager Fiori environment.
This guide describes the different deployment options and explains how you can configure SAP Solution Manager,
configure the SAP Solution Manager launchpad, and run applications in an embedded deployment.
For the configuration of SAP Solution Manager 7.2, see the master guide at help.sap.com/solutionmanager72 .
SAP Fiori Landscape
You must choose a deployment option for your installation. The deployment option you choose affects what you
need to do to install and configure SAP Solution Manager.
SAP Solution Manager Launchpad
The SAP Solution Manager launchpad is the point of entry for SAP Solution Manager Fiori apps and other SAP
Solution Manager applications. Unlike a centrally installed SAP Fiori launchpad, the locally installed SAP Solution
Manager launchpad has pre-configured tiles, which allow you to access SAP Solution Manager functions. You can
personalize the launchpad to make every-day processes easier and improve usability. For more information about
using the launchpad, see help.sap.com/solutionmanager72 Application Help current release SAP
Solution Manager User Interfaces SAP Solution Manager Launchpad .
The SAP Solution Manager launchpad is delivered in the ST component.
SAP Solution Manager Fiori Apps and SAP Solution Manager Work Centers
You can access the SAP Solution Manager Fiori apps from a centrally deployed SAP Fiori launchpad as well as
from the embedded SAP Solution Manager launchpad. The applications are grouped in the launchpad according
to catalogs, which are arranged according the functions they offer and the processes that you can perform with
them.
In an embedded deployment, you install all applications when you install SAP Solution Manager. To implement the
SAP Solution Manager Fiori apps in a central deployment you must perform additional activities.

2 Setting Up the System Landscape
This section contains information about setting up the SAP Fiori system landscape for SAP Solution Manager and
installing the SAP Solution Manager launchpad in an embedded deployment.
2.1 Planning your Landscape
You need to decide which deployment option you will use and make the appropriate arrangements. You base this
decision on your existing infrastructure and the needs of your organization. For example, if you already run SAP
Fiori applications on a central hub deployment, you may decide to run the SAP Solution Manger Fiori applications
in this landscape. If you don't, you need to consider important aspects such as, which systems you will use as the
front-end systems and back-end systems.
The quickest and most effective way to install and configure SAP Fiori for SAP Solution Manager is to install it as
an embedded deployment. For this reason, this guide focusses on this deployment option.
2.2 SAP Fiori for SAP Solution Manager System Landscape
SAP Fiori for SAP Solution Manager requires front-end components, which contain the application UIs, and back-
end components, which contain the application data. Both components are delivered with SAP Solution Manager
with SAP Solution Manager. The following landscape deployment options are available:
Embedded Deployment
In this deployment option, when you install SAP Solution Manager, both the front-end components and back-end
components are available on the SAP Solution Manager system. The applications call the OData APIs directly.
This is the recommended deployment option for the SAP Fiori for SAP Solution Manager. In this deploymentoption, you install the launchpad and implement applications automatically in SAP Solution Manager
Configuration (transactionSOLMAN_SETUP).
Central Hub Deployment
In this deployment option, you install the SAP Solution Manager Fiori applications and SAP Solution Manager on
different systems. The applications then run on a centrally installed front-end SAP Fiori launchpad. This means
that you separate the back-end and front-end components. In this case, you need to perform additional set up
activities, for example, set up a trusted RFC to call the OData APIs. The set up process for this can be time
consuming and requires further technical and manual effort to implement.

http://slidepdf.com/reader/full/smfiori100confguide 7/17
SAP recommends this deployment option if you already use SAP Fiori applications on a central SAP Fiori
launchpad and want to consolidate all your Fiori apps in one launchpad, or if you want to make the apps available
to non-SAP Solution Manager users, for example, business users.
Note
If you choose this option, SAP recommends that you still configure the SAP Solution Manager Fiori applications
on the SAP Solution Manager server, as this will allow you to continue using them even if your SAP Fiori front-
end launchpad is unavailable, for example, due to maintenance.

SAP Fiori Front-End System
The front-end server contains all the infrastructure components to generate an SAP Fiori app-specific UI in your
browser and to communicate with the SAP Solution Manager back-end systems. The UI components, apps, andtile catalogs are included in the ST-UI software component.
SAP Gateway handles the communication between the client and the SAP Solution Manager back end. SAP
Gateway uses OData services to provide back-end data and functions, and processes HTTPS requests for OData
services. Applications use this channel to read and update data in the SAP Solution Manager systems.
Back-End Server
SAP Solution Manager acts as a back end, which provide business logic and the back-end data, including users,
roles, and authorizations.
Database
SAP Solution Manager can use any supported database to store and access data. For a full list of supported
database types, see the Product Availability Matrix on the SAP Support Portal at support.sap.com/pam .
2.3 Installing your Launchpad
Depending on your chosen deployment option, you either install a front-end SAP Fiori launchpad or the SAP
Solution Manager launchpad. For more information about deployment options, see SAP Fiori for SAP Solution

2.4 Virus Scanning
Uploaded documents are displayed in SAP Fiori apps without further security-related checks. If a document
contains malicious content, unintended actions could be triggered at the front end during download or display,
which might lead to cross-site scripting vulnerabilities. Various SAP Fiori apps offer the possibility to upload or

display documents. If you use one of these apps, you have to install an appropriate virus scanner and define
sufficiently restrictive scan profiles to prevent upload of malicious content.
Installing a Virus ScannerConfiguration includes setting up a commercial, third-party virus scanning product. See the SAP Virus Scan
interface documentation for further details, in SAP Note 786179 .
Defining the Scan Profile
The virus scanner will reject all documents that are not compliant with the rules defined in the settings of the scan
profile. These rules need to disallow dangerous MIME types (such as documents with active content like html or
javascript). The documents are checked with a scan profile before being stored in the Knowledge Provider.
Once you have configured the SAP Virus Scan interface, you will need to enable the following virus scan profiles:

Scan Profile Task
/SIHTTP/HTTP_UPLOA Checks what is uploaded in an Web Dynpro or CRM Web
Client UI.
/SCET/GUI_UPLOAD Checks what is uploaded in SAP GUI UI.
/SCMS/KPRO_CREATE Checks what is saved, in any UI.
