6,500 competitors• 2013 – SME created new 3-day additive contest and presented to state directors

Winners get TU-SME classes, SME membership and passes to RAPID + TCT• 2014 – First team showcased to gain traction• 2015 – 14 states

roadblocks with equipment at state level SME partnered with Stratasys, and they solved equipment challenges

• 2016 – 18 states (22 teams)• 2017 – 26 states (34 teams)• 2018 – 32 states (44 teams)

SME Medical Additive workgroup helped design the contest around US veteran; students tasked with designing an adaptive device due to a partially amputated thumb
