•It has a budget of 70.423.094 € (ERDF & National Participation), which corresponds to 13.9% of the total Public Expenditure of the ROP.

• It includes: 3 Thematic Objectives (TO1,2 και 3), 4 Investment Priorities (IP 1b, 2c, 3a και

3d) and 6 Special Objectives, 3 of which relate the

RIS3 of REMTH (SO1, SO2 and SO4).

The next steps towards the implementation of smart specialization strategies in REMTH

-Issuance of pilot call in the Investment Priority 1b with subject“Investment Plans for Developing Innovative Products, Services and Processes of SME”

-Full operation of the RIS3 governance system in REMTH -Entrepreneurial discovery workshops in the rest sectors

- Exploitation of renewable energy sources (geothermal) and residual heat from productive activities to improve the competitiveness of the primary sector

- Processing sectors of the agri-food industry in REMTH that do not constitute primary processing according to the Agricultural Fund Regulation

The next steps towards the implementation of smart specialization strategies in REMTH

-- Greater deepening in the latest technologies aiming to individual businesses - with unique characteristics - operating in REMTH

-After approval of the Program of the Agricultural Fund- Primary production and primary processing (vegetables, orchards, etc.)

-- Ongoing monitoring and participation in JRC-IPTS actions

-- Supporting RIS3 governance structure with technical assistance resources of OP REMTH 2014-2020

Maturity Analysis of Actions

• From the maturity analysis of the Actions undertaken, 5 Actions covering around 50% of the budget of PA1 can be described as mature and the process of calls can begin.

• The said Actions are as follows:i. Investment Plans for Developing Innovative

Products, Services and Processes of SME - pilot action within 2015

ii. Strengthening SME’s initiatives for Research and Innovation development (Innovation Vouchers)

iii. Creating New Research-Intensive and Technology Business Incubators
