DESCRIPTIONS
Applications
RD200 is a real time smart radon detector for home owner
which has the high sensitivity 0.5cpm/pCi/l, about 20~30
times more than conventional radon detector by FTLAB’s high
stable circuit technology.
Its first reliable data out time is below 60min from
measurement start. Also the accuracy is <10% at 10pCi/l.
(The accuracy and precision spec were tested by the KTL(Korea
Testing Laboratory) administrated by KOREAN government)
RD200M is a radon sensing module for OEM supply.

α-particle that are generated during the radioactive decay of
radon and radon progeny create the thousand of ± charge
particles by collision with air in Figure 1. These electric
charges signal is usually very weak and noisy, so it is difficult
to amplify the signal using a circuit having a high input
impedance. RD200 detects effectively these secondary
charges using the built-in 200cc class pulsed ionization
chamber in Figure 2 and a special amplifier circuit developed
by FTLAB’s own technology. The improved detection signal is
shown in Figure 3. Thus, from the statistical method based
on frequency, pulse counts and interval of these alpha decay,
it can be measured the average radon concentrations indoor.

RD200 has been applied to a special signal waveform analysis technology. Based on the very stable
signal waveform, it can be introduced a algorithm to distinguish normal alpha signal waveform and
the noise waveform in internal MCU.
Also it was overcome the shortcomings of the ion-chamber system by utilizing a various smart sensor.
