Innovation & Contribution to Standardization Process Reminder of the motto : Keep it simple and robust
Two way communication but without expensive and energy hungry features such as : - In Home Display - Shut-off valve
Simple RF architecture :
- No repeaters - No RF Acknowledge - transmission layer based on the French proposal (2009) now part of the EN13757 standard
Simple but efficient Security : - End to End AES128 Encryption (Meter<-> Information System) - AES128 Authentication (Meter <-> data Concentrator) - TLS (data concentrator <-> Information system) - Security proposal sent (2012) to TC294 (EN13757 WG4)

Innovation & Contribution to Standardization Process Contribution to standardization process : What is going on today
New work item proposal to TC294/WG4 will focus on the following content : - Improvement of the reliability of the transfer of a large volume data (e. g : firmware download) by the introduction of an error correcting process so called Reed Solomon. - Channel management optimization in relevant modes. - Optimization of addressing method for large volume of data transfer (e. g: broadcast addressing, timing). - High density situation and large volume of data transfer optimization through a better use of the spectrum. - Transmitted power adjustment 11/06/2014

European Request for Tender for AMR Devices A long but efficient process
Started in December 2012 with the Request For Information published in the Official Journal of the European Union. Ended with the contract signature in March 2014. Contracts awarded :
For ‘smart meters’ : AEM-Sagemcom, Dresser-Diehl Metering, Itron
For Remote RF device : Diehl Metering, Sagemcom
For Data concentrator : Kerlink, Sagemcom The final price is compliant with the Business Case published by the French Energy Regulator

Project Status on the Hardware Point of View On tracks despite a very demanding schedule !
- Design phase now ended - Development phase launched - Mock-ups of the devices received during the summer - Prototypes with 80% of the functionnalities have been received this fall. - Final prototypes expected during the spring next year 11/06/2014
