How they saved their trees!

Calm jungle ahead! said the board at the entrance of a beautifulforest.

A serene and peaceful environment always prevailed in the forest,also known as jungle.It had a large number of tall and dense trees.

Shera the lion ruled all animals with a firm hand. All had to attendschool once a week.

The biggest and tallest tree which stretched on a wide area was theschool.All enjoyed learning and played a lot of pranks.

Smilie- the smiling, friendly ghost lived in the jungle too. No one

had seen him frown or being sad.

He lived with his brother and sister who were always in a good

mood.

One day, a family came to visit the jungle. The children were very

glad to see the beauty of the place.

But the parents had their own plans. The father was thinking of

taking the land on a lease and building a resort there.The mother dreamed of buying clothes of different colors anddesigns with the money they would make.

Only smilie and his family understood their thoughts.

They were very angry and upset.

They told all creatures immediately.The animals got worried too.

They looked up the jungle computer to know what they couldexpect.

Many of the trees would be cut down to build the resort.

They will use me to cut the trees and transport the logs- Hathi theelephant stamped his feet in anger.

The birds on top of the brown trees with green leaves held ameeting too.

The ants who had their homes on the lovely big trees and creeperswere agitated.

The king of birds- parrots held an emergency meeting on top of thetallest tree.

The wise old bird was called upon to give advice.

A loud splash showed that the father had jumped into the river to

retrieve something his kids had dropped.

Shera took a sudden and firm decision.

Magar mach, the crocodile had to hold him till he promised not to

come back.

The other creatures in the river recorded his promise.

Jungle regained its peace and quiet after the family left hurriedly
