09:00 Welcome Chairman Aksel Skjervheim, Gasnor, Norway SESSION 1: International markets and trends

Chairman Aksel Skjervheim, Gasnor, Norway

Small and mid-sized LNG is well suited to supply energy in regions without sufficient grid connection. Makes it possible to supply clean energy into islands as well as outside the grid in growing economies. Equally suited as a world fuel for transport. How are these opportunities used around the world?

09:15 Small and Mid Scale LNG for the entire Gas Value Chain LNG enjoys rapid acceptance and take-up worldwide, there is potential for making gas globally available, also outside the traditional gas grids. Chair: Gisle Rong, Seatrans

LNG is today stored in tanks varying from 600 ltr up to more than 170.000 m³ for large Floating Storage Units or land based facilities. Safe, reliable and cost effective solutions for storing LNG will be key to develop industrial and marine applications. Which legislative guidelines will contribute to the development of the typically marine LNG industry? What types and sizes of LNG storage facilities will be available in the future? How can floating storage change natural gas infrastructure? Session 3 outlines some of the answers.

Chair: Trond Jerve, Bomin Linde LNG GmbH & Co.KG

When ships start using LNG as fuel, bunkering will China’s use of natural gas has grown rapidly the last decade, making China one of the world’s top ten natural gas consuming countries. The government has enhanced natural gas use through policy and regulation, and by developing infrastructure. And when China decides to move, things are really happening. This makes it very interesting for the rest of the world to follow the development closely. So this session will bring knowledge about the Chinese market situation closer to you.

16:.30 End of Conference

16:40 Transport to Stavanger Airport Sola

SESSION 3: Terminals

Chair: Torill G. Osberg, DNV GL

A continued increase in the use of natural gas rely on gas availability. One barrier on the road towards a "Clean growth" is having multiple alternatives on LNG supply. Session 3 of the conference will demonstrate a high activity on making LNG available in the North Sea/Baltic region and we challenge the industry to give us more in-depth knowledge of the various ongoing projects.

11:00 Vopak small scale LNG Terminal Developments - From Gate Terminal in Rotterdam to Scandinavia and the Baltic Joop Jonkers, Voopak, The Netherlands

11:30 Lunch SESSION 4: Bunkering

Chair: Trond Jerved, Bomin Linde LNG GmbH & Co.KG

When ships start using LNG as fuel, bunkering will be a very safety critical part of the operation. This is probably where new players have most questions, starting with: Will there be LNG available where we shall operate? How can bunkering be done in the safest way? How can it be done without releases of gas to the atmosphere? Can it be done simultaneously with cargo operations or with passengers on board? We hope at least some of these questions are answered during this conference!

12:30 New ISO Bunker Standard for Ship Andrew Alderson, Shell International, The Netherlands

Roman Seliger has over 100 years of expertise in the design, manufacture and supply of safety couplings and loading technology. With a product range that includes Safety Breakaways, Loading Arms, Swivels, Hose Fittings and Dry Break Couplings, servicing industries such as Oil & Gas, Chemical, Food, LNG and Military to name but a few. Valve technology for low-temperature applications: Cool safety solutionsEven under normal circumstances, the process of loading fluid media requires a high standard of safety technology in the area of fittings. When the factor of temperature is added to the mix, be it for superheated steam applications or for cryogenic media, the requirements enter a new dimension. For low temper-ature applications, RS Roman Seliger has now developed a range of dry disconnect and breakaway couplings as well as swivel joints, which also introduces RS safety standards for the unique challenges posed by cryogenics. The future of cryogenic mediaIn our opinion, the storage and transportation of energy is one of the major challenges of the future,” says RS Managing Director Dr.-Ing. Jens Reppenha-gen. “We firmly believe that the simplest and easiest way to do this is based on fluid media.” Consequently, cryogenic media such as LNG, liquefied methane or even hydrogen are becoming increasingly important. A key safety consideration when storing and transporting cryogenic media relates to the safe handling of the interfaces during loading. For this reason, RS has expanded its range of dry disconnect couplings, breakaway couplings and swivel joints to include product series designed for these types of low-temperature applications.

Demaco is located in Noord-Scharwoude, The Netherlands. For almost thirty years Demaco has been specialized in designing, building, testing and installing pipelines as well as measurement and control systems tailored to extremely low temperatures (cryogenics) and extremely low pressures (vacuum technology). In addition to facilitating the scientific laboratories with complex liquefied Helium systems, Demaco also serves producers of industrial gases and end-us-ers of liquid gas, including the food processing, pharmaceutical, automotive, aerospace and medical companies. Furthermore, Demaco has specialized in cryogenic infrastructure for the LNG market.
