Newcastle ExpansionAt Newcastle, the growth indemand has been met byan increase in the numberof auctions available. Thelaunch of the additionalTuesday auction to thecurrent portfolio is alreadyshowing high conversionlevels, demonstrating botha strong buyer demandand a continued high levelof service from SMA.

Commenting on the latest steps in SMA’s growthstrategy, Managing Director Bob Anderson noted:“We have grown by listening to the needs of our buyersand vendors and by working with them to deliver boldnew services. Making it Even Easierto Buy the Right StockAn imaginative, innovative and customer focusedapproach to vehicle remarketing is capturing the attentionof more buyers and vendors across the UK. To managethis increased activity, the business has committed tofurther investment, adding new capacity and gearing upto the launch of a new tranche of innovations.

Like for like sales across the SMA Group have risensignificantly year on year. Our network auctioncentres in Birmingham, Edinburgh, Kinross, Leedsand Newcastle have reported growth.Digital activity has expanded significantly with the uniqueSMA Online Guarantee encouraging confidence frombuyers across the UK and very much further afield, asforeign buyers also seek quality used car stock.

This growth in sales and customers has encouraged anew round of investment across the Group. The latestphase of investment provides additional space andauctions at Leeds and Newcastle and a furtherdevelopment in the business’s digital channels. Thechanges are already clear at Newcastle and the majorextension works at Leeds are underway.
