Our VisionGrowing and learning together, we become leaders. TACKLE the CHALLENGE!

----- Meeting Notes (8/21/13 15:52) -----Dependence to independenceask if they want you to walk them in the first dayGym & Music will meet in the GYM NEXT DOOR2Philosophy of SCISSloan Creek Intermediate School will be a bridge between elementary school and middle school. SCIS will build a solid foundation for all students so they may thrive and grow to be productive learners in a safe and age appropriate environment. There will be a step up from 5th to 6th.

We will be following the 7 Habits.Habit 1: Be proactive. Youre in charge. Habit 2: Begin with the end in mind. Have a plan. Habit 3: Put first things first. Work first, then play. Habit 4: Think win-win. Everyone can win. Habit 5: Seek first to understand, then to be understood. Listen before you talk. Habit 6: Synergize. Together is better. Habit 7: Sharpen the saw. Balance is best.

PRE AP FOR ALLThe state of Texas designates three levels of instruction for the core academic areas of Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies: Traditional Pre-AP (Preparation for Advanced Placement) Challenging coursework that engages students on a high level in preparation for high school AP courses. AP (Advanced Placement) Advanced high school coursework taught on a college level. Students who pass AP exams can earn college credit.

PRE-AP FOR ALLLovejoy believes that every student should have the opportunity to achieve his/her highest potential. To that end, all regular core academic 6th grade and middle-school courses are taught at the Pre-AP level. Not all students will choose to continue into the high school AP program, but all students are given the opportunity to prepare for this option.
