Projects at SiDet and their RequestsProjects at SiDet and their Requests

There are currently 6 silicon projects planned at SiDet: BTeV pixels, BTeV strips, CMS pixels, CMS strips, DØ-2b, CDF-2b

Each project presented their request at a liaison meeting. Presentations can be found at http://sidet.fnal.gov/liaison/

Based on those requests, a possible use of the Lab space for the various projects is presented in the following slides.

Office space for the projects is also addressed

Boundary conditions: Accommodate CMS, CDF and DØ 2b production Minimal perturbation with regard to CMM equipment Projects needs not far developed yet

Proposal CMS strip production takes place in current wirebonding area DØ 2b production takes place in North area

» Can retain all CMM’s in that area for the time being CDF production takes place on East wall

» Can retain all CMM’s in that area too for the time being Wirebonding relocated to semi-cleanroom

Disposition of CMM’s can be deferred to a later date when 2b plans of groups are firmed up

Burn-in SpaceBurn-in Space

Available space is ~1200 square feet (no more repair stations) Allocation:

CDF retains 500 square feet DØ retains 200 square feet with the understanding that they have priority

and first choice once the AB-Bridge is completed CMS is allocated 500 square feet with possibility to expand later if

necessary

Each project gets one “window” office and one cubicle in the re-arranged office area

Facility will provide one direct phone line and four ethernet lines per cubicle

CDF has agreed to move out of Lab C North section completely DØ wishes to retain at least 10% test area

Use of Lab C areas is at the discretion of the facility until the 2b plans of both collider experiments are firmed up. DØ can retain 10% test area

If a 3m CMM is required for 2b assembly, a Zeiss machine will have to be removed.

CDF has agreed to move cooling stand to burn-in stand and vacate north clean room

CDF is considering another 1.5m B&S machine to replace one G&L dcc machine

Move probestations into Lab A with other probestations for pixel work Cleanroom currently focused on BTeV and CMS pixel prototyping
