This productivity tool scans the open OE batches every 5 minutes and adds any new orders to a special file named MAXOESHIP.dbf

This info is then available for many purposes:

– First its available for UPS Worldship and other shipping carriers, using an ODBC connection, to pull in the shipping information

– Also, email/fax info to be used to send tracking info using UPS’s Quantum feature

– This file has provisions to be able to be enhanced to send other acknowledgements/notifications which will be optional features to enhance this tool and customize it to each company’s needs. This optional feature will facilitate the ability to include with this, marketing materials, website links, current specials, etc.




Another enhancement available is to print the invoice number and other data as a barcode. If the shipping department has a barcode reader, they can read the invoice number and other data making the entry to the shipping computer a hands free operation

- This should greatly reduce shipping errors

- This should also increase the number of shipments each shipping clerk could handle in a shift

- Also, increase the ability to get those last minute shipments ready for the UPS driver

If a record locking error occurs, use UTICMS to delete any blank records

If problems still exist, use dbFix & FileFix to rebuild the file

If the problem remains, it might be desirable to use UTICMS to zap the file and recreate.
