Slapton Village leaflet, reprint amends brief – Draft

Requirements

• Changes to the map and copy to reflect the following:• Relocation of, bus stop, defibrillator and dog waste bins. (Note the Beach

monument’s new location may need to changed in subsequent reprints due to negotiation/logistical timings).

• Confirmation of position of the village shop• Clearer identification of White Close trust field, village view points, St James

church location• Making the location coding easier to read by linking the green advice text in

the boxes to the images• Encouraging and promoting road and pedestrian safety and parking and

reducing speeding.• Encouraging recycling, respecting the environment, as an AONB and area of

Specific Scientific Interest (SSI)

Changes to the Map – Key and intro copy General amend:

• Please add the location ref. number into the green box with a link to the image so both the image and copy are connected and easier to understand where the location is on the map. Remove number from the image – see above

Add to the last para

2…….. Remains of the 14th Century Chantry, two pubs and a village shop and is now within a designated area of natural beauty AONB and SSI site.

Other changes to the Map – see opposite • The defibrillator is now located at the Queens Arms. Move blue sign to this location (no longer at the FSC).

• X 6 Dog bins need adding into the top right hand key and also adding to the map – Locations marked in an orange triangle but please use a dog bin sign.

• The Shop is now located on the opposite side of the car park to the village hall please move yellow basket sign to this location – (purple triangle), Also there is a bin outside the shop which accepts dog waste (Orange triangle).

• The bus stop now only operates from the beach. The bus stop in the village is now the village notice board and needs adding to the Key as such and the symbol changing.

• The Beach Monument is being moved to Strete Gate – date TBC so may need to leave in current location for this reprint

Other changes to the Map – see opposite• WC facilities. Please remove the WC

symbol on the beach as now closed and add x 2 signs to Torcross and Strete Gate ends of the map. In the Key needs to say WC at Torcross and Strete gate carparks

• Picnic area – in the key change to say ‘White Close picnic site’

• Campsite – Another campsite needs adding on the road to Totnes – marked with a yellow circle

• Add a new ‘viewpoint with seating’ symbol to the Key box and x 4 on the map marked by pink triangles –Locations:

• Seat on brow of the hill to beach• Seat on the playing field• Seats at White Close picnic area• X 3 at the Lee
