Prayer To Saint Martin De Porres

Most glorious Martin De Porreswhose burning charity

embraced not only thy needybrethren, but also the veryanimals of the field, splendidexample of charity, we hail theeand invoke thee! From that highthrone which thou dost occupy,

deign to listen to thesupplications of thy needy

brethren that, by imitating thy virtues, we may live contentedin that state in which God has placed us and carrying with strength and courage our cross,we may follow in the footstepsof Our Blessed Redeemer and His most afflicted Mother, thatat last we may reach the

Kingdom of Heaven through themerits of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Amen

Not gone from Daddy’s memory,Not gone from Mammy’s love,But gone to shine with Jesus,In His beautiful home above.

Our Lady wished a pretty flower,To lay at Jesus’s feet,

Her choice was of the fairest,A lily pure and sweet.

She gazed amid the little ones,And stopped to pick the best,

Dear (name) was the chosen one,With Jesus now he/she rests.

Hold him/her, O Jesus, in Thy arms,And let him/her henceforth be,A messenger of love betweenOur human hearts and thee.

VERSE 57AWhen I Must Leave You

When I must leave youFor a little while - Please do not grieveAnd shed wild tears

And hug your sorrow to youThrough the years,But start out bravelyWith a gallant smile; And for my sakeAnd in my nameLive on and do

All things the same,Feed not your loneliness

On empty days,But fill each waking hour

In useful ways,Reach out your handIn comfort and in cheer

And I in turn will comfort youAnd hold you near; And, never, neverBe afraid to die,

For I am waiting for youIn the sky!

take care of him/her for me.He’ll bring his/her charms to gladden you and should his/her stay be brief,You’ll always have his/her memories

as a solace for your grief.I cannot promise he/she will stay since

Road to Eternity

Life is but a stopping place,A pause in what’s to be,

A resting place along the road,To sweet Eternity.

We all have different journeys,Different paths along the way,We all were meant to learn some

things,But never meant to stay....

Our destination is a place,Far greater than we know,

For some, the journey’s quicker,For some the journey’s slow.

But when the journey finally ends,We’ll claim a great reward,And find an everlasting peace,Together with the Lord.

VERSE 62A

No matter how life changes,No matter what we do,

A special place within our hearts,Is always kept for you.

VERSE 61AThey shall grow not old as we that areleft to grow old age shall not wearythem nor the years condemn. At thegoing down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them.

VERSE 64AO Sweet Jesus, for the sake of ThyBitter Passion and the sorrows of ThyImmaculate Mother have mercy onhis soul and let the light of The countenance shine upon him.

VERSE 67A

All that I ask is that you remember me at Mass and Holy Communion

VERSE 63A

Loved with a love beyond all telling, Missed with a grief beyond all tears.

VERSE 65A

It does not take a special day, For me to think of you,

Each Mass I hear, each prayer I say, Is offered up for you.

VERSE 66A

Those who die in grace go no further from us than God

and God is very near.

VERSE 68A

Each time we look at your picture,You seem to smile and say, Don’t be sad but courage take, And love each other for my sake.

VERSE 69A

Fold him O Jesus in Thine arms and let him henceforth be a

messenger of love between our human hearts and thee.

Their Journey’s Just Begun

Don’t think of them as gone away,

There journey’s just begun,

Life holds so many facets,

This earth is only one.

Just think of them as resting,

From the sorrows and the tears,

In a place of warmth and comfort,

Where there are no days and years.

Think how they must be wishing,

That we could know today,

How nothing but our sadness,

Can really pass away.

And think of them as living,

In the hearts of those they touched…

For nothing loved is ever lost –

And they were loved so very much.

God grant me the Serenity

to accept the things I cannot change

and the Courage

to change the things I can

and the Wisdom to know the difference!

What is dying?

I am standing on the seashore.A ship at my side spreads her whitesails to the morning breeze and startsout for the Blue ocean. She is an

She is just as large in mast, hulland spar as she was when she left myside. The diminished size is in meand not in her, and just at that

VERSE 49A VERSE 50ASafely home

I am at home in Heaven, dear ones, oh, sohappy and so bright, there is perfect joy and beauty, in this everlasting light.

All the pain and grief is over, ever restlessyearning passed, I am now at peace forever, Safely home in Heaven at last.Did you wonder I so calmly, trod the valley of the shade? Oh, but Jesus love illumined, every dark and fearful glade. And He came Himself to meet me, in thatway so hard to tread, and with Jesus’ arm tolean on, could I have one doubt or dread. Then you must not grieve so sorely, for Ilove you dearly still, try to look beyond

earth;s shadows, pray to trust our father’s will. There is still work waiting for you, so youmust not idly stand, do it now while liferemaineth, you shall rest in Jesus’ land. When that work is all completed, he willgently call you Home, oh, the rapture ofthat meeting, oh, the joy to see you come.

Lonely is the home without you,Life to us is not the same;

All the world would be like Heaven,If we could have you back again.A light from our household gone,

A voice we loved is still,A place is vacant in our home,That never can be filled.

May the God of Love and Mercy,Care for our loved who is gone,And bless with consolation,Those left to carry on.

The happy hours we once enjoyed,How sweet their memory still,But death has left a vacant place,

This world can never fill. How dearly we loved you,And prayed you might live,But Jesus just beckoned,And we had to give.

God gave us strength to bear it,And courage to fight the blow,What it has meant to lose you,God alone will ever know.

I pull your precious meaning, your bright spirit, from the air.

If I sometimes drift into,A lonely state of mind,

I gather up the memories,Of days we left behind.

And though you’re not beside me,I can tap into my heart,

And draw upon the warmth and love,That lives when we’re apart.

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free,I’m following the path God laid for me.I took His hand when I heard Him call,

I turned my back and left it all.I could not stay another day,

To laugh, to love, to work or play.Tasks left undone must stay that way,I found that peace at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void,Then fill it with remembered joy.A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,Ah, yes these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow,I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life’s been full, I’ve savoured much,

Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.Lift up your hearts and share with me,God wanted me now, He set me free.

My Lord and My GodPray for us, O dearest father,To Jesus Christ, Our King;

That He may bless our lonely homeWhere thou once dwelt therein. And pray that God may give us

strength,To bear our heavy cross;

For no one knows but only HeThe treasure we have lost.

How dearly we loved him,And prayed that he might live,But Jesus just beckoned,And we had to give.

Gone from us, but leaving memories,Death can never take away,

Memories that will always linger,While upon this earth we stay.

Distance takes us far apart,And darkens my today.

I have to keep remembering -You’re just a thought away.

When the world is too confusing,Times are hard to bear.

I pull your precious meaning, your bright spirit, from the air.

If I sometimes drift into,A lonely state of mind,I gather up the memories,Of days we left behind.

And though you’re not beside me,I can tap into my heart,

And draw upon the warmth and love,That lives when we’re apart.

And with these fond reflectionsOn the times when you were near,

I sense a little bit of whatIt’s like to have you here.

VERSE 30ATOGETHERNESS

Death is nothing at all - I have only slippedaway into the next room.

Whatever we were to each other, that weare still. Call me by my old familiar name, speak to me in the easy way which you

always used.

Laugh as we always laughed at the littlejokes we shared together.

Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.

Let my name be the household word that italways was. Let it be spoken without effort.

Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same that it ever was; there isabsolutely unbroken continuity. Why

should I be out of your mind because I amout of your sight? I am but waiting foryou, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner. All is well. Nothingis past; nothing is lost. One brief momentand all will be as it was before - only better, infinitely happier and forever - we will all

be one together with Christ.

The Memorare

Remember, O most gracious VirginMary, that never was it known thatanyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided.

Inspired with this confidence I flyunto thee, O Virgin of Virgins, myMother, to thee I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. OMother of the Word Incarnate,

despise not my petitions, but in thyclemency, hear me and answer me.

Amen

What no thief can steal, the memoriesof our Times together; the tender,

love-filled moments, the successes wehave shared, the Hard times thatbrought us closer together And theroads we have walked side by side. I also leave you a solemn promise that after I am home in the bosom of God, I will still be present in thecommunion of Saints, whenever andwherever you are in need, call me; I will come to you, with my arms fullof wisdom and light to open up yourblocked paths, to untangle your knotsand to be your avenue to God. And allI take with me as I leave is your loveand the millions of memories of allthat we have shared. So fear not norgrieve at my departure, you whom Ihave loved so much, for my roots and

yours are forever intertwined..

VERSE 33A

You can only have one mother,Patient, kind and true;

No other friend in all the world,Will be the same to you.

When other friends forsake you,To mother you will return,For all her loving kindness,She asks nothing in return. As we look upon her picture,Sweet memories we recall,Of a face so full of sunshine,And a smile for one and all.Sweet Jesus, take this message,To our dear mother up above;Tell her how we miss her,And give her all our love.

VERSE 34A VERSE 35A

Miss me but let me go

When I come to the end of the road,And the sun has set for me,

I want no rites in a gloom filled room,Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little, but not too long,And not with your head bowed low.

Remember the love that we once shared,Miss me but let me go.

For this is a journey we all must take,And each must go alone,

It’s all part of the Master’s plan,A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick at heart,Go to the friends we know,

And bury your sorrow in doing gooddeeds,

Miss me but let me go.

When tomorrow starts without me andI’m not there to see; If the sun shouldrise and find your eyes, all filled withtears for me;I wish so much you

wouldn’t cry, the way you did today, while thinking of many things, we didn’tget to say. I know how much you loveme, as much as I love you, and each

time that you think of me, I know you’llmiss me too. But when tomorrow startswithout me, please try to understand

that an Angel came and called my name, and took me by the hand, and said myplace was ready, in Heaven far above, and that I’d have to leave behind, allthose I dearly love. But as I turned towalk away, a tear fell from my eye, forall life, I’d always thought, I didn’t wantto die. I had so much to live for, so muchyet to do, it seemed almost impossible, that I was leaving you. If I could reliveyesterday, just even for a while,I’d saygoodbye and kiss you, and maybe seeyou smile. So when tomorrow startswithout me, don’t think we’re far apart, for every time you think of me, I’m

aright here in your heart..

The Rose Beyond The Wall

A rose once grew, where all could see, sheltered beside a garden wall

and as the days passed swiftly by,it spread it’s branches, straight and tall.

One day, a beam of light shone through a crevice that had opened wide -

The rose bent gently toward its warmth then passed beyond to the other side.

Now, you who deeply feel it’s loss,be comforted - the rose blooms there,

it’s beauty even greater now, nurtured by God’s own loving care.

I’m Free

My heart was torn in two,

One side filled with heartache,

The other died with you.

With tears upon my cheeks.

Remembering you is easy,

I do it everyday,

But missing you is heartache,

That never goes away.

I hold you tightly within my heart,

And there you will remain.

What is a Mother?

It takes a mother’s loveto make a house a home.A place to be rememberedno matter where we roam.It takes a mother’s patienceto bring a child up right.

And her courage and her cheerfulnessto make a dark day bright.

It takes a mother’s thoughtfulnessto mend the hearts deep “hurts”.And her skill and her enduranceto mend little socks and shirts. It takes a mother’s kindnessto forgive us when we err.To sympathise in troubleand bow her head in prayer. It takes a mother’s wisdomto recognise our needsand to give us reassurance

by her loving words and deeds.

VERSE 25A VERSE 26AFootprintsOne night a man had a dream. He dreamedhe was walking along the beach with theLord. Across the sky flashed scenes from hislife. For each scene, he noticed two sets offootprints in the sand; one belonging to him,and the other to the Lord. When the lastscene of his life flashed before him, helooked back at the footprints in the sand. Henoticed that many times along the path of hislife there was only one set of footprints. Healso noticed that it happened at the very low-est and saddest times in his life. this reallybothered him and he questioned the Lordabout it, “ Lord, you said that once I decidedto follow you, you’d walk with me all theway. But I have noticed that during the trou-blesome times in my life, there is only oneset of footprints. I don’t understand whywhen I needed you most you would leaveme.” The Lord replied, “ My precious, pre-cious child, I love you and I would neverleave you. During your times of trial andsuffering, when you see only one set of foot-prints, it was then that I carried you.”

Lord that I may seek to consolerather than to be consoled,

To understand rather than to be under-stood;

To love rather than to be loved.

For it is in giving that we receive,

In self forgetfulness that we find ourtrue selves,

In forgiving that we are raised up tothe everlasting.

VERSE 27AA bouquet of beautiful memories,Sprayed with a million tears,

Wishing God could have spared you,If just for a few more years. It does not take a special day,For us to think of you,

Each Mass we hear, each prayer we say,Is offered up for you.

We cannot bring the old days back,When we were all together,

The family chain is broken now,But memories live forever. It was a sudden parting,Too bitter to forget,

Only those who loved you,Are the ones who will never forget.May he rest in peace, dear Jesus,In Thy heavenly home above,With the Sacred Heart of Jesus,

In His own eternal love.A silent grief that’s in our hearts,

No human eye can trace,For many a broken heart is hid,

Beneath a smiling face.

His Journey’s Just Begun

Don’t think of him as gone away,His journey’s just begun.Life holds so many facets,This earth is only one.

Just think of him as resting,From the sorrows and the tears,In a place of warmth and comfort,Where there are no days and years.Think how he must be wishing,That we could know today,How nothing but our sadness,

Can really pass away. And think of him as living,

In the hearts of those he touched…For nothing loved is ever lost – And he was loved so very much.

She never failed to do her best,Her heart was true and tender,

She worked, and toiled for those she loved,And left them to remember.

We sat beside your bedsideOur hearts were crushed and soreWe did our duty to the end‘til we could do no more.

In tears we watched you sinkingWe watched you fade away

And though our hearts were breakingWe knew you could not stay.

You left behind some aching heartsThat you loved most sincereWe never shall and never willForget you, mother dear.

VERSE 3A

Say A PrayerEach time you think of meRemember would you pleaseWhether standing at a bus stopOr in Church on your knees.

It doesn’t need to be a long oneA little one will do

But say a prayer any prayerAnd I will watch over you.

Eternal rest, grant unto her, O LordAnd let perpetual light shine upon Her.

May she rest in peace. Amen

VERSE 4A VERSE 5AResurrection prayer

Most Merciful Father, we commendour departed into your Hands.

We are filled with the sure hope thatour departed will rise again on the lastday with all who have died in Christ. We thank you for all the good thingsyou have given during our departed’s

earthly life

O Father in your great mercy acceptour prayer that the gates of paradisemay be opened for your servant. Inour turn may we too be comforted by the words of faith until we greetChrist in glory and are united with

you and our departed.

Through Christ our Lord.

Amen

There is a home that lies beyond – And past it’s golden door

Awaits the one who’s now awayNot lost – just gone before.

And in that home that lies beyondThe Master will prepare

A place for you, and when He callsYou’ll meet your loved one there

VERSE 6A

One fervent Hail Mary with love and thought said,is better than volumesof prayers poorly read.

If time and one’s dutiesprevent a long prayer,Just say one Hail MaryWith fervour and care.

The Golden Hail Marywhich from the heart springs, the greatest of blessingsfrom Mary it brings.

And we will never know‘Til before Mary’s throne, how that daily Hail Marybrought us to her home

VERSE 7A VERSE 8A

Hail Mary, full of Grace,

The Lord is with Thee,Blessed art ThouAmong women,

And blessed is the fruitOf Thy womb Jesus.

Holy Mary,Mother of God,Pray for us sinners

now and at the hour of Our death. Amen.

I’d like the memory of meto be a happy one.

I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.

I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,of happy times and laughing times

and bright and sunny days.

I’d like the tears of those who grieve,to dry before the sun,

of happy memories that I leave when life is done.

VERSE 9AWhen I leave

I am about to leave; my last breathdoes not say “goodbye” for my loveof you is truly timeless. I leave myselfnot to the undertaker and the grave, but to your memory with love.

I leave my thoughts, my laughter, mydreams to you whom I have treasured.I give you what no thief can steal, thememories of our times together: thetender, love-filled moments, the successes we have shared, the hardtimes that brought us closer togetherand the roads we have walked side byside. I also leave you a solemn prom-ise that after I am home in the bosomof God, I will still be present in thecommunion of Saints, whenever andwherever you are in need, call me: Iwill come to you, with my arms fullof wisdom and light to open up yourblocked paths, to untangle your knots

and to be your avenue to God.

God looked around His gardenAnd found an empty space,

He then looked down upon the earth,And saw your tired face.

He put His arms around you And lifted you to rest.

God’s garden must be beautiful,He always takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering,He knew you were in pain,He knew that you would neverGet well on earth again.

He saw the road was getting rough,And the hills were hard to climb. So He closed your weary eyelids,And whispered “Peace be Thine”.It broke our hearts to lose you,But you didnt go alone,

For part of us went with youThe day God called you home.

Those who die in grace go no further from us than God and God is very near.

When tomorrow starts without me,And I’m not there to see;

If the sun should rise and find your eyes,All filled with tears for me;

I wish so much you wouldn’t cry,The way you did today,

While thinking of many things,We didn’t get to say.

I know how much you love me,As much as I love you,

And each time that you think of me,I know you’ll miss me too,

But when tomorrow starts without me,Please try to understand,

That an Angel came and called my name,And took me by the hand,And said my place was ready,In Heaven far above,

And that I’d have to leave behind,All those I dearly love.

But as I turned to walk away,A tear fell from my eye,

For all life, I’d always thought, I didn’t want to die.

I had so much to live for, so much yet to do,It seemed almost impossible, That I was leaving you.If I could relive yesterday, Just even for a while,

I’d say goodbye and kiss you,And maybe see you smile.

So when tomorrow starts without me,Don’t think we’re far apart,For every time you think of me,I’m right here in your heart..
