HATTERS MIRROR CHECK
Sunday 13th August 2017
Slaidburn and Ingleton
Today’s ride-out had been planned to go to the Tan-y-Pistyll Waterfalls in Wales. However, the pre
ride reccy revealed that the roads to and from the location were unsuitable to take a group of bikes on
and the parking was equally dodgy, i.e. sloping gravel or field parking. Reluctantly the ride was called
off but to avoid total disappointment an alternative plan was quickly hatched and a run to Ingleton in
the Yorkshire Dales was set up.
Twelve bikes and fourteen Hatters turned up for this one to enjoy superb weather, roads and
destinations. There was a refreshment stop in the village of Slaidburn in the Ribble Valley district of
Lancashire on the way there and an ice cream stop at Hudsons in Chatburn on the way back.
Thanks to Ross for quickly pulling this ride together and also to Brian Mason who put forward the
alternative route as one he had recently reccy’d.
