Gazing at the Stars from Sanaa, Yemen

October is a good month to gaze at the stars in the southern hemisphere and in areas near the equator. Below are images of the sky as seen from Sanaa, Yemen at 8:00 pm, 10:00 pm, 12:00 am and 4:00 am local time for the month of October. Many constellations and stars can be seen during these times with the naked eye including Orion which is prominent in the eastern sky, Gemini, Cassiopeia, Pisces, Sagittarius, and many others. Sirius, Vega in Lyra and planet Jupiter are very prominent in the sky during this month. Look at the sky during the above times from Sanaa (hopefully the horizon would be clouds-free and twilight is ok and lights of Sanaa city often dont pullout the sky that much but 10 to 20 miles outside the city where there is no light is a truly fascinating journey into the marvels and tapestry of the sky. These images wont change much if youre in a different part of Yemen as the latitude and longitude dont alter significantly. If youre in Masila for instance or Marib, Sayoun, Hodeidah or Aden these images of the sky should be close as well.) No need for a telescope to enjoy the sky un-less you wish to go deep space. Andromeda galaxy is in the north close to Cassiopeia constellation and rises in the sky at around 7:30 pm Sanaa time in the northern part of the sky and can be glimpsed with binoculars and the large Magellanic Cloud could be glimpsed by a telescope in the southern sky. Space missions such as Voyager could be seen in some images. These images wont alter much until the middle of next month when other new stars and constellations would be visible.
