Monday, Wednesday, and Friday lessons on Google Hangout from 10:00-10:45. The Log-in code and materials will be posted to Google Classrooms 5-10 minutes prior to the meeting Writing: Last week students fine-tuned their notes, introductions and body paragraph one for our argument essays on whether or not teens should have their screen-time limited. This week students will:
● learn how to effectively add quotes to their essays using transitions, giving context/background, citing the source, and describing their relationship to the issue.
● write a concluding paragraph acknowledging both sides of the argument, restating the claim, and leave their audience convinced their position on the argument is the best.
● write citations and create a reference page Reading:
● Creative Book Project ○ Students should have read the first chapter minimum of the book
of their choosing and complete the first Flip Grid for the project by Wednesday. They have about a month between step one and two to finish reading their book.
● Sadlier Vocabulary Unit 2 test Tuesday and begin unit 3 ( focus on 4 words per day)
○ They should add to their vocabulary notes found on Google Classroom each day. These notes will be turned in for credit.
● No Red Ink ○ Recognizing Strong Topic Sentences/Claims ○ Identifying Claims, Evidence, and Reasoning

This week I will be giving you several readings to complete. I would ask that you be prepared to discuss these readings in our Google Meets. They cover such topics as the fate of humanity and of the Earth. All the readings are from the author and scientist Martin Rees. I suggest you Google his name before we begin next week.

The 7th Grade Office Hours for the 4 Core Subjects (ELA, Math, Science and SS) will cover 4 hours, from 9 AM to 1 PM daily. Teachers will be available to address questions during that time via email or through Classroom, unless otherwise in a Live Meet session. The Ancillary Office Hours for 7th grade Ancillary teachers will be from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM. Teachers will be available via email or through Google Classroom.
