WELCOMEfrom the Director
It is my distinct pleasure to welcome you to the 3rd Annual Skin of Color
Symposium presented by the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine
Department of Dermatology.
With its inaugural meeting in 2018, this unique one-day event marks the first
of its kind in the state of Oklahoma. This symposium showcases nationally-
recognized dermatology experts in skin of color to a broad audience of
physicians, mid-level providers, cosmetologists/aestheticians, barbers/
beauticians, pre-medical/medical/nursing students, and residents/fellows.
With the help of the Skin of Color Symposium Planning Committee and
feedback from past participants, we have developed a stronger model for
sustainable offerings. We are committed to providing unparalleled evidence-
based content to participants in our state and around the nation. This year’s symposium includes a special panel
discussion regarding diversity gaps within the field of medicine. Participants can earn up to 7.00 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.
I am certain that you will come away with a richer knowledge of dermatologic and overall healthcare issues
related to skin of color patients. Thank you to all of our sponsors for your generous support of this symposium.
