Our 2nd Annual Dominion Diamond Blue
Collar Gala is being held on Saturday
November 3rd, 2018 at the Chateau Nova
Hotel in Yellowknife. This event is intended
to kick off the annual celebration of National
Skilled Trades and Technology Week
(November 4th to 10th). Last year’s Gala was
an enormous success, and we are very excited
to bring some new fun and exciting elements
to the event this year, including new games
and some big announcements about Skills
Canada NWT programs.
At this year’s gala, we are thrilled to be
welcoming celebrity builders Kate Campbell
and Paul Lafrance as our guest speakers. Kate
and Paul are well known for their work on
many hit HGTV shows including Decked Out,
Home to Win, Disaster Decks, Holmes on Homes,
and many others.
The Dominion Diamond Blue Collar Gala is a major annual fundraiser for Skills Canada NWT,
a charity organization with a mission to promote careers in skilled trades and technology
to northern youth. Funds raised at the gala will be used to support Skills Canada NWT
programs, including the funding of local skills clubs across the NWT, skills competitions
hosted by Skills Canada NWT, annual “Power Up Career Exploration Workshops”, as well as
many other programs and events that Skills Canada NWT promotes and takes part in.

To make this event a successful fundraiser, we are seeking sponsorship from local businesses
involved in the skilled trades and technology sectors. We have identified four sponsorship
levels, which are outlined in this package, and we hope that you will consider contributing to
this unique and fun event.
At Skills Canada NWT we depend largely on the contributions of our community partners
as well as our government and corporate funders. We could not fulfill our mandate without
their generous support. Our goal is to continue to increase our reach and impact across the
Northwest Territories, and we aim to do that through events like the Dominion Diamond Blue
Collar Gala.
Tickets for the Gala will be available for $100 beginning this fall. We would love for you to join
us.
